I’m old school, we always parked cars in gear when I was growing up. I guess old habits die hard because I still do it regardless of where I park. Great vid and good info.
Happened to me as well. The hand brake seems to have some issues holding friction. Always parking in first gear since then. Usually i dont do that, because if the car gets hit by another car during parking it might damage the gearbox, while usually just the hand brake is sufficient.
Use the parking brake & put the car in 1st or reverse gear to be safe. 2nd gear might not be enough to stop a roll. Agree with reverse gear. If its a big hill you might also want to point the front wheels to the curb.

When you park a manual transmission car always place the shifter into reverse. Always turn the wheels toward a safe direction.
