Great video, appreciate the info. I'll be focusing on the foundation before considering a power adder to my 2020 rf. Posting info like this really helps the community that is barely keeping affordable sports cars alive in this day & age. You are a saint. Keep up the good work.
Not sure I am seeing a heat shield between your AC and turbo so if not you should or you risk breaking the ac compressor. I lost a couple compressors before I added a heat shield then once I did it has been good for over 10 years. I have the 1.8T setup.

You need to upgrade your rod. I blew up mine after maybe 10-15k km. Destroy engine block, bend rod and so on. It’s now fixed and with the new rod with 7psi of boost no longer an issue

Veeeeery interesting. This is the first time I'm aware you can mount an NC trans into an ND with an adapter plate! Since the NC has 2 different transmission options (5-spd and 6-spd) which did you choose and why? Do they both mount up the same? I've heard arguments from both sides about which is better (a lot of it boils down to personal preference in relation to driving style because of the different gear rations) and I personally have experience with the 5 so would love to get your thoughts.
In colder climates a turbo poses the need to warm up and cool down before each use. Short runs are not healthy for the engine. Hence a supercharger might arguably be better proposition. FYI I own an NC2 and can tell you they too have the transmission issues of the ND. NC3 boxes are stronger.
Super stoked you've made this video as I've had lots of questions about it. With the NC transmission, did it come with/without the gears? If so - are the gear ratios identical to stock? If I decided against the turbo or supercharger, I'd probably get the BBR super 220 naturally aspirated kit for the ND2 RF. Should be a safe bet for the stock ND2 transmission right?
Since all he mentioned was the adapter plate I would assume he acquired a fully stock & complete NC trans. I'm personally curious if the 5-spd NC trans would mount up just the same as the 6-spd, as many people prefer the 5 and the gear ratios are more interesting.
Good vid with lots of helpful info & tips for those of us thinking to go the route of turbo charger. I have an nd2 (2023) and would love to add boost to this b*tch 😁
This is amazing, thanks for making this. Would love to know which MAF/MAP sensor you got to resolve the boost detection. Was it a simple plug and play? Or some more settings in the tuning software
Hi there. I am an Aussie who is also running the AVO kit on my 2L ND and i have the exact issue described relating to the MAP sensor. Were you able to just use the avo tablet/program to load the new tune or did you have any issues with the tuning part of that? Looking to do that to mine. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers. Gorgeous car man.
@@Vitalewastaken I'll give it a look after work. I got a hold of Lee from AVO and they have since released another tune that made it BETTER, but it's still only the original MAF tune.
About to take my second attempt at purchasing one, are these weak? First one was diluting its oil. Had 340bhp fn2 stock bar a borg warner kit for 11 years it never missed a beat but seeing lots of broken nd's with 240bhp edit... should state plan to keep it stock but i want to go sideways
It was around 600 for the transmission, but then you need to get a new differential, clutch, and adapter plate which all together costed an additional 2000.
Every time he says boost it has a capital B “Boost” 😂 love the video man! Thank you for all the information 🔥👌

great upgrade on the audio! 10/10 so much better now, good work keep it up!
How much power does it make?

very helpful in-depth video, keep on the good work!
Try a waterless coolant. They are formulated to never boil or create pressure in the lines.

Gear ratios are different, which is why you need to modify the differential. Check out my latest video where I talk a bit more about this!

What oil cooler kit did you get?
And any issues with mounting it in between the intercooler and condenser coil?

Check out my latest video where I go more into detail about this! I also am going to make a video specifically for the AVO turbo kit very soon.

Still running strong at 6-7 psi, no issues on my car. Issues arise when you boost past 8-10 psi, need upgraded piston connecting rods.
@@Vitalewastaken no issues clutch banging a stock one in the wet then 😊
Every forced induction ND i've come across has been an ND1. Is it even possible to turbo the ND2? Why is it more difficult?
The intake is somehow narrower than for the ND1. I do not know anythint about the specifics but it is what i read while exploring this option
nd2 stock injectors max out at about 210whp. i dont know much about tuning but i heard the nd1 ecu is easier to tune than the nd2.
Does it effects the weight distribution
i’ve blown two trans with no power mods
Can you help me on what tune to get and how it all works?
Check out my latest video where I talk about this a bit more!
Good video but this is all standard stuff that people should do regardless
are you running 5w20 or 5w 30 with the turbo? thanks
I use 0w 20 in the winter, and then switch to 5w 30 in the hotter months.
If I want this build for my nd1 what’s about the total cost
I'll make a video on this!
Do you still hit 240+ degrees even with the oil cooler?
Oil temps hover around 180 - 220 now, which is much better.
Are you running the mishimoto one?
How much did the nc trans cost you total?
It was around 600 for the transmission, but then you need to get a new differential, clutch, and adapter plate which all together costed an additional 2000.
@@Vitalewastakendo you have a link for all the parts?
I'd go with a supercharger. A turbo cooks the oil.
1.5 or 2.0 engine ?
2.0
Anyone ever swap out a NC automatic for a manual?
Any auto to manual swap is hard tbh. You have to consider your electronics like ecu, engine harness, sensors, etc.
