Honda Civic Type R Track Review: • 2023 Honda Civic Type ...
The fourth-generation Integra and all the wonderful memories of the third-generation car returns with this Type S version. It’s fantastic! What you’re looking at is, essentially, a more refined, a touch more grown-up, Civic Type R. One with heated seats, plenty of comfort, and right here, right now handling performance. It’s a gem.
In this video, I take you through the car, show you what features are offered and how they work. And then I take you on a drive to get a sense of how well it handles, the quality of the ride, and the overall experience.

As someone who races road bikes thank you! That test is awesome I wish all reviews did that to show cargo capacity
That's really nice to hear. Thank you!
Nice review!
Thank you!
Great review! Hoping to pick up my new Tiger Eye Pearl next week! 😉
Thank you very much! I hope you have a blast in it.
I agree. They are a $2k + add on also.
The Acura RSX was also an Integra. It was a Honda Integra in Japan, Australia (I believe), and other parts of the world (except Canada) Was a fantastic car btw. I owned one
Yeah, that's fair. When it became the RSX instead of the Integra, it lost its double-wishbone suspension up front, changing to struts. At the time, diehard Integra enthusiasts were upset about that and didn't want to give RSX its due. But it drove very well, for sure, especially in Type S trim. But the name officially being back here in the U.S. still means something.
@@viewsonvehiclesI had a DC5 03 S Type and it was a much better car than my 98 DC2 GSR. Faster, handled better, stopped better, and better interior. While I loved the B series engines, the K is far better. The RSX was still an Integra.
Prefer the Integra Type S styling to the Type R
Me too. It has a better flow.
@robin, TLX Type S or Integra Type S? By the way, great review!
In terms of pure driving satisfaction, the Integra Type S. It's lighter, more toss-able, and responses faster to your inputs. That said, a TLX Type S is still fun and more comfortable and spacious inside, if you need one car to do it all, the TLX makes a case for itself. I hope that helps. And thank you for the compliment!
Can a roof rack for the bike be installed. I’m a mtb rider and enduro bike most probably won’t fit without front tire removal every time. Cheers nice review
Yeah, Acura sells one as a factory accessory.
I'm not sure why you don't think it doesn't have a VTEC engine...it definitely does.
35 seconds into the video, I put up text saying exactly that. So I do not understand your comment. VTEC used to provide a very distinct character to Honda engines and played a big role in them
revving so high. Now turbochargers do the majority of that work and engines rev 2000 rpm lower than before. th-cam.com/video/pSez9wgh_Vk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OMVK-6rVQydYA6M5&t=35
How's the tire and road noise?
I spoke about that during the highway test, I believe, usually do. Wind noise is better than I expected. Tire noise was reasonable. I found it perfectly fine. Here's what I said: th-cam.com/video/pSez9wgh_Vk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9XrlDI80fmheHAkJ&t=1554
They skip lot of features in this car explanation was weight but why not auto folding side mirrors
I actually kind of like the Type R styling more, and I don't get the "boy racer" comparisons for the Type R. I think it also looks elegant and more restrained similar to the Type S.. That being said, I would still get the Type S over the Type R...unless...I could freaking find a Type R WITHOUT a markup. Acura isn't charging markups from my research on 3 or 4 different dealers.
Of course it’s the best one yet. It’s the newest and most powerful. Duh !
What do you mean newest and most powerful? Type S? It's actually the least powerful Type S of this era. The MDX and TLX Type S run a turbo 3.0-liter V-6, 355 HP, 354 lb.-ft.
If you mean Integra, yeah, new and powerful. But, more importantly, the driving feel is fantastic.
Am I the only one who doesn't like the copper colored rims?
What in the actual heck were they smoking when they priced this vehicle? I get that it has to be more than the Civic Type R, but good brief Charlie Brown - they are *both* overpriced IMHO. And I'll bet that dealers will be marking this thing up like crazy!
I hear you, the price made me look twice too. But it really drives so well, it's seriously good. Dealer mark-up is another story, however. Hopefully some will stick to sticker.
For the exact same price u can get a Stinger GT 2 AWD Twin Turbo V-6 368 HP blows the doors off this car in every way.
That stinger won’t last 😂😂😂😂
Its a fcking hunday, almost all the cars i see broken on the side of the rosd are hunday and kia
Stinger is an impressive car for the money. Unfortunately, the Stinger is missing a pedal...
I can also get a m340i, which is far better than that stinger.
I don’t know about blowing the doors off. You’re talking two more cylinders V6 with mpg dropped to 17-24mpg. There marginally quicker. The Integra Type S styling is gorgeous, with a manual gearbox so well built that the driver is connected with the car through every gear. That is the driving experience you cannot get with the stinger.
Acura/Honda is so incredibly reliable and if power is what you desire, small bit of tuning adds 50HP without any modification upgrades whatsoever. If you know how to drive manual, test drive this, you’ll know exactly what we mean
i had original 93 gsr in my college days. my sister had the first gen integra 88. now i got a 911s, macan gts, and genesis g70. genesis is my daily. unfortunately acura has long lost the mojo and this one is still meh.
Are you insinuating that the 88 and 93 Integras are better vehicles than the Type S? That makes no sense.
@@mikemccormick6128 everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to people like me, a car is more than just a number or performance. if that was the case, we would all drive $60k c8s. a car needs to have identity and soul. a thing that makes a car special. if you know anything abou tintegra or acura. when the brand was new, it was performance oriented japanese import that separated itself from other japanese imports and european brands. it was the start of 2 now iconic brands. acura and lexus. lexus was the luxury japanese brand and integra was marketed towarded the younger sporty crowd. for a small amount of money, you could get a VW GTI beating compact sports coup that was super liable. it was light, handled very well, with free reving double overhead cam. it was really out of this world. there is a reason why it was so hot back then. in 92, they introduced the gsr. it was 1.7 litre vtech, first of it's kind. it was at the time highest hp per liter engine. the first year, only 400 was imported. it also was revoluntionary. Acura used to be rule breaking sporty car manufacturer who dared the others. and gen 3 and continued that trend. when the integra was drdopped, acura went the same path lexus went.. and lost it's soul on the way.. they just produced boring cars for decades with few crappy attempt at finding it's old glory. Why do you tihnk the revived the integra name? look around and see who drives acuras. if you are of any age, you would see the big difference in the age group people who own and drive accuras.
You're very fortunate to own and drive a 911, fantastic car. As is the Genesis for its purpose. And fair point if you're not into the brand anymore. But I owned a first gen Integra myself and drove several gen threes. And this car drives incredibly well. It reminds me of those good days. It's seriously good.
