  • The 2023 Honda Civic Type R looks a bit more reserved than before, but it's as wildly fun to drive as ever.

It still has a big wing and a triple exhaust, but in many respects, the 2023 Honda CTR looks more mature and conservative than before. Don't let that fool you. We took all 315 horsepower out on the track at Sonoma Raceway and along Northern California's twisty mountain roads. Watch our test drive review video to see if this hot hatchback lives up to the bright red R on its nose.

Boost Blue, Rallye Red, Sonice Gray and Championship white in that order.

As much as i love this car, i like the SI better as a main car. Can throw it around corners, 40mpg highway, great torque, sunroof, blazing orange pearl with tints is beautiful, $30,000 savings

😊 BoostBlue for me ‘cause I’d rather get the FK8 in Championship white 😊 plus you don’t really need awD it’s fine without it. I loved my Honda Civic front wheel drive that doesn’t have anything but Michelin tires on it and does well in winter weather here in Canada. So no not needed here 😁

This car in all wheel drive would be fantastic!!! For a front wheel drive car it's to expensive. It's is sopposed to be a budget sports car. If it came in all wheel drive, I would probably buy one.

I’d choose it in red. But those markups steer me away from buying

I think Type Rs shouldn't be AWD, it's kinda like saying "The Toyota 86 should be AWD" where the point of the 86 is that it is RWD, well, the point of the Type R is that it is FWD 🤔 Even though I also understand that it would add more usability in snowy places! (Specially if this is your only car 🧐)

20k markups make this car sadly out of touch for most people.

I still prefer the look on my 2015 Civic Si Coupe FG4...the newer Civic's look like they are rear drive cars, but they are not.

White then black. Hopefully they bring a better grey color in the future. The grey they offer now looks like Subaru 2 tone bumper paint. A good old Acura grey or even the Galaxy Grey from the early 8th gens would be better.

I just realized the white is not 'Championship White' Honda/Acura has used for all previous Type-Rs. What?!?!

its championship white. i can see the pearl effect of the ppaunt clearly. wich is a typical championship white paint trait

Save $10,000 + dollars and buy an Elantra N. Elantra N is 90% of the new Civic Type R and as a bonus, it sounds much better!

You will end up loosing in the long run on depreciation value of the Hyundai.

@Stinky Sundae - Hyundai killed the Elantra N after sticking the Theta II engine in it. That, along with the DCT issues is why I avoided the Elantra N. It drives really nice, and sounds great, but the long term value and reliabilty issues took it off the list for me personally.

I had a Civic once. It was in the repair shop more than it was out.
Even the Dealership told me that Honda should have painted it Yellow.
I’ll NEVER own a Honda again.

Other than my Civic, I’ve only had 3 daily drivers in my lifetime and they’ve been Toyota’s.
A 78 Corolla, 02 Camry, 11 Rav that I currently drive. I’m glad I kept my Corolla when I bought my Honda in 90.

@user-zm2pn2su1p I bought it new. It had 3 miles on it when I wrote a check for it.
I had been saving money since I was 16 and paid cash for it when I was 25.
I paid $9,700 plus tax and license.
