    Holy crap that glock with the cutout explains things 100x more than just imagining it in your head. Thanks for sharing!

      Crazy to know that you're striker only compresses about a 1/4 an inch or so. Even with a 4lb ss, I've never had a light strike. And I have a 6lb ts, but still a great fast reset... But I have all my over travel took out though

    Feeling is believing. The shortness of trigger travel combined with the crispness of the break (no mush) and aggressive reset is what makes Johnny’s triggers so awesome. I’m a big fan and have three so far, will likely also get one for my 43X MOS.

    You have thought me so much over the YEARS.. Id just like to say thank you... And I cannot wait for the part 2 connector tuning n whatever other knowledge u decide to bestow upon us... 😂😁👍
    knowing all I know now with YOU'RE vids n just owning glocks for 20 YEARS It feels so nice helping others when they have issues and being able to do 95% of any trigger work myself instead of the just ehh screw it ill send it in attitude ... No dude learn, know how to do things
    yourself.. UNLESS you are not at all comfortable or mechanically inclined at all.. But start somewhere.. Everyone imo should at least know how to completely tear down a glock or similar pistol to bare frame n reassemble it... At the least... Just try u may find u love doing it... I did n in also found out I like doing trigger work almost as much as I love shooting...
    Ramble over
    Thanks again Mr. Glock 😁😉

    Johnny you have made me fall back in love with my Zev OZ9. At first I loved it. New gun love, but then the trigger was dog 💩. I even purchased a new slide for it. Since consuming your content I have created two distinctly different trigger feels you talk about most. One is the 1911ish style with the Zev slide/trigger with a 8lb '+' connector, and the other a rolling break with my p80 slide/apex trigger and '-' connector. Thank you! Also, I agree about pre travel, you can anticipate it and you should.

  • @CatzAzz
    @CatzAzz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great educational video. The best thing anyone could do is practice. Get used to your firearm & become extremely familiar with it. When you establish that it becomes muscle memory & you are no longer thinking about what you're doing or where the walls are or the reset. It just happens naturally. If you need to think about what you are doing you need to spend more time at the range.

    My gen 3 Glock has the best trigger I have ever seen from the factory it has a short pull to the wall,then a real crisp break and the best reset I've ever seen other than that I don't have a clue but Johnny does I bet

  • @JG-gw5cc
    @JG-gw5cc ปีที่แล้ว

    Waiting for part 2!!! I have a gen4 I use for duty, I need to leave most of the pre travel and trigger pull weight alone but I want a shorter, faster and better feel reset, is there a part(s) that will help with that. I sent an email asking the same question. Dude you are like the Bruce Lee of glocks…. Love the videos keep them coming. If I am watching and understanding, a gen 4 with an over travel screw and the 5.5 connector. Would give me the same pre travel, a stop wall and brake, then with the over travel screw adjusted in that adjusts for length of the reset which would be shorter, I would need to change a spring for the speed, not sure which one, feel would be spacing between the connector and the trigger bar and the frame. But I don’t think you sell the housing with just the overtravel screw. So I think I need a gen 4 housing with an overtravel screw, your 5.5 connector, and your trigger bar and your stock Glock modified trigger, to remove some pre travel. Would I keep the 5 to 5.5 pound pull weight? Help me please.

    The trigger reset I learned and I learned this on my own and thought it was a bad habit, was to get your finger off the trigger after the shot breaks. Not slapping the trigger.
    Just coming off the shoe and back on till you hit the wall, pause, verify your sights or dot placement then press the trigger through. No pining the trigger to the rear and waiting to consciously reset the trigger then break the next shot.

  • @americantrucker9813

    I run the Timney Trigger with a Ghost 3.5LBS Over Travel Stop Tab Connector on my ZEV OZ9 and it’s Incredible!!!! You get the connector with a good bit of Material on the Over Travel Tab but you sand it down to Match Your Specific Break ! It’s the most effective and positive feeling Travel Stop my Trigger Breaks and Stops at The reset I wish I could show you the Break/Reset because I don’t have a Trigger anymore I have a Fire Button you press and Bang and you barely let Off and it resets in real life it’s like pressing a volume button on a IPhone !!

    6 pound return spring vs 4 pound striker spring reminds me a lot of adding too much pommel weight to a great sword. It makes the handle move as much as the blade, which weakens the swing and slows the blade down.

    The explanation you give is great i can almost feel it in my finger with the way you describe it. Ive been using an oem trigger. You mention the cutaway being difficult to obtain. Is there a source you can refer me to that would have one? If not id love to know where to get the gcode for a mill so im able to make my own. I build a bunch and have came across so many issues. From Cruciform kick ups being off to the actual trigger housings angle affecting the connector.. I could use one of those

    Your videos have been incredibly helpful. Question for you... I have a 43x MOS and I've been getting some jerkiness in the action when I fire, and on occasion, light primer strikes that are off-centered. This happens much more often when I control the trigger reset. Could this be caused by the optic plate screw? I am using the Calculated Kinetics plate with a HS 507k. Curious what you think... thanks again for the content!

    What i can tell is there's one main reason why people want less pre travel (Besides people that are used to a 1911), it's people that haven't trained to not fully release the trigger after the first shot thus having that pre travel on every shot which could also be due to recoil flinching. You can train to release the trigger just enough to reset then hold it so your at or close to the wall and the next shot will hardly have any pre travel at all.
