I know I’m an over-luber but I also clean a lot. I basically put the lube in the same spots you just show with one other area. I put a very small amount of grease on the front part of the barrel hood where it locks into the slide. I’m amazed at how reliable Glocks are. In my years of shooting them I can count on one hand the number of malfunctions I’ve had. Simply great guns.
As always...our gratitude for taking the time to reinforce this. So many, including myself, don't realize these were enginerded to run with minimal lubrication.
For grease, I use Superlube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease. It's good hot (450°F) and cold (-45°F), goes on smooth and thin enough to replace oil in the oiling locations, it has PTFE, and it's food safe so it's one less thing to kill you slowly. I buy it in big 400g cylinders but it also comes in wee little squeeze bottles.
First time viewer here. The first video I watched of Johnny Glocks was released over 8 years ago where he talks about modifying stock triggers. 5 minutes later I’m watching this video and he hasn’t aged a day. Clenzoil must be an age preservative as well as a Glock preservative.

Glocks recommended oiling procedure is in the owners manual of every Glock . I clean my guns after every range trip cause I enjoy cleaning guns & rags, cleaner & oil are cheap. Great vid Johnny . Dawn works great on cleaning disassembled slide, barrel, & frame & it doesn't damage polymer parts like some cleaners can.
Being a farmer my gun gets dusty. REALLY dusty. I run it completely dry. I've never really had reliability problems and it allows me to blow my gun off with the air compressor and have a "clean gun" clean enough for a Glock anyway! I ran a 2100 round 3 day pistol class and my trigger got really hard to pull so i put 2 drops of 5w30 amsoil on the reset and it was fine. It's still like that today and feeling good. I'm doing another one in Sept I'll see how it lasts over this summer lol!
I've been wiping everything down on my gun with oil out of fear of water or sweat getting into the gun when I open carry doing farm stuff. Any issues with rust from running it dry? JG is obviously right about over-lubricating & spraying it with CLP. My striker channel, extractor, etc. was filthy upon inspection.
I lubricated my Glock once and I could feel the firing pin was getting sluggish. I flushed it out with brake cleaner and never had a problem since. I was told by a good friend not to lubricate but I tried it and he was right. He said the same thing. Just a small dot on the rails and that's it. Honestly I just clean them really well and leave it dry.
The 43x from Austria I just got is the first Glock I've seen that had oil all over the place from the factory! Even the extractor & striker spring were wet with it. Still had a VERY small amount of grease on the 4 guides.
LUBRICATION - Short story. I was the Glock Armorer for some agency. A supervisor purchased a Glock 19 from an employee because "it didn't work". So, he gives me the 19 to see why it won't work. I strip it down and I smell it right away. And then, I recognize that smell. I know that smell. It's....Crisco! My mom used that years ago. I call my supe and tell him to call the guy to see how he lubed it. The guy says "Crisco, it stays good up to 400 degrees F." I told him I'd strip it totally, the parts, the lube. After I was satisfied, I used CLP and I went to a police gun range and asked the Sergeant to test it. He puts 500 rds thru itand says it's working fine. I brought the gun back and had a fantastic story to tell. What do you use?
Johnny!! The stevo-o of Glocks. I wish you made this a year ago. I treated my Glock like a ar and soaked down my striker and collected enough schmoo to crack my striker. Lesson learned. Thank you for all of your hard work.
On a new glock I grease every moving part. No oil only grease. Every spring the entire striker the plunger literally everything then put it together again and do the same with the frame . Then I rack it a bunch .dry fire it a bunch. And do that until the metal all slide together without friction. Once it's smooth as I want it I take it completely back apart and clean everything completely dry. Put it all back together I put a drop of oil in each slide grove for the rails. 1 drop on the connector. Sometimes I don't even do that depending how smooth it works it'll be 2 drops on the rails and that's it and it will work perfectly . I worked a a professional mechanic for years on really technical industrial machines.i don't know anything about guns but I'm positive this works for me .

Great video. I lube all of my pistols like you showed and have never had any trouble. It's exactly what we were taught at Colorado School of Trades (Gunsmith) back in the early 80's. I don't know why people can't see that excessive oil over time creates abrasive sludge. The worse ammo issue I see is Russian steel case. The powder seems to be made of charcoal yet people with very expensive pistols shoot the heck out of it and then bring them to me when they stop working. And then I hear "Well I'm not buying that expensive ammo just to shoot targets"

I sprayed the hell out of it‼️The good thing Is I broke it completely down before I hosed it. Now I'm worried I might have F up a gun I haven't even fired @ the range yet ⁉️ This is my first time dissambling the gun 💯. I hope the gun smith tells me it's nothing more than a rookie mistake 🤔
Would you recommend cleaning off the loctite compound and re-applying a new coat or should I just leave whatever is still there? I did a cleaning and still saw a healthy amount left over and didn't know if I should replace it or not.

By the way I did buy Clenzoil synthetic gun grease and just use a dab in those same points you showed in the video. I clean my gun after every 200 rounds or so and re-lube. By cleaning I mean everything comes out of the chassis. I may be over doing it but I find it to be therapeutic.
Those are the only areas I lube, and I use the "less is more" method, especially in areas that are dusty or with dirty ammo where the lube actually traps the crap and becomes gritty.
I have a question about greasing the clasp. Does the trigger bar move inside the clasp? I'm trying to visualize in my head to see how the trigger bar moves inside the clasp. I still did what you said to do, and greased it for good measure.
Great info!! I own two 1911’s as well as a “few” polymer frames. One custom WC commander and a Sig TacOps 5”. I don’t’ over oil those either. You can use too much even on those that it compromises it as a carry weapon. I just have one quick question. Not about anything from this video though. About your website. Why do you not list any parts for a G34 on it? I have a gen 5 G34 MOS that I’m turning into a straight range gun and I’ve been looking for good parts for it.
I have a new to me gen 3 g19 that will randomly light primer strike. Everything looking at a lot of your video shows it doesn't have many rounds through it. Do you ever recommend dry based lubes that use graphite? I have very good luck with high round counts with rimfire firearms using that lube. Way less grime build up.

Why do you use C5-A on connector/trigger bar but not the clasp? Having 3 types of grease/oil seems like a little overkill. Especially when 0.5oz of that Cleansoil is like $20.
When you take out the trigger bar from housing for lubing, how do you prevent the connector from flaring out too far from the housing? Whenever I reinstall my trigger bar and housing, the connector causes slide drag on my gun, preventing the trigger from resetting properly.

I’m a new g45 owner plan to get prefo trigger soon been using a all in one red grease stuff from Mahoneys is that okay leaves a thin layer after cleaning off carbon I have not used any sprays
I have been the beneficiary of people overlubing their glocks. When the guns quit working they sell them cheap and I buy them. Most of the time the gun is just gunked up from over lubrication and powder residue, just like Johnny said.
Continue to use the Glock factory applied Copper colored Bronze Oilite Anti-friction lubricant. This takes the guess work out of using the correct lubricant for any place on earth. I found copper colored Bronze Oilite Anti-friction lubricant in online shopping sites like Mercari and others. A wet oily Glock is a unhappy Glock. Less lube is best.❤ ❤❤❤ Johnny is correct

Ive tried all sorts of greases living in wisconsin and the only thing that works in winter is running it fairly dry with very light gun oil.

Brake clean and engine oil are the chemical I use. Toothbrush, q tip, and bore brush are the tools I use.

I have been the beneficiary of people overlubing their glocks. When the guns quit working they sell them cheap and I buy them. Most of the time the gun is just gunked up from over lubrication and powder residue, just like Johnny said.
Continue to use the Glock factory applied Copper colored Bronze Oilite Anti-friction lubricant. This takes the guess work out of using the correct lubricant for any place on earth. I found copper colored Bronze Oilite Anti-friction lubricant in online shopping sites like Mercari and others. A wet oily Glock is a unhappy Glock. Less lube is best.❤ ❤❤❤ Johnny is correct
What is a good target ammo to use? I did buy a "white Box" of Winchester full metal jacket target ammo.... I only shoot for fun.
