Firearm diagnostics from Johnny Glock vids are second to none. Your vids/archives have raised my comfort level to perform simple and some complex repairs/maintenance.
JOHNNY GLOCK YOU ARE THE MAN!!! Since my retirement I have taken on little projects that I didn't have the courage to do before. One of these was putting together my very own 9mm pistol. I have seen some call these "Guchi Glocks", whatever, I call mine a "Sammy Glock". However, I was highly disappointed with my creation for a while because I was getting several failure-to-feeds. That is until I saw this video!!! I have about 12 old mags from my working days with the Glock 19. As per your recommendation I changed three springs (as an experiment) to the 17 length, and "SHABANG". I could feel the difference right away. With the old mags I could feel my Sammy Glock kind of dragging rounds into the chamber. Now it feeds with a very positive slam, I feel no drag at all. I cannot thank you enough for sharing such valuable information.
Just the way Johnny talks to the camera is what made me subscribe, he is communicating in a way even I can understand. I’m a fan already, thank you Mr. Glocks 😀
Every year I buy new magazines for carry and add my old carry magazines to my range mags. After vetting the new ones. After doing this for over 25 years I have accumulated enough magazines that when I go to training classes I never have to worry about loading magazines.
Greetings from Caracas Venezuela, congratulations for your channel and for the excellent lectures published on the Glock pistol, thank you for that, a hug for you and your family, continued success, much prosperity, health and work, later on I will do several questions related to the topic, for now I'm still in tune with your videos, see you soon.
Firearms forensics 101. Great stuff man! The way you show every how and why for every aspect really helps everyone, inexperienced through well seasoned.
You demonstrate a very thorough and professional process here. I know a lot of gun owners, and probably gunsmiths too, would have stopped after the slide release consistently caught the slide on an empty magazine. However, You have a set procedure for diagnosing and verifying the function of EVERYTHING related to magazines. You didn’t stop the moment you could say “there - it works!” In this case, you found a messed up mag spring that HAD to be replaced because you kept going. Also, it never would’ve occurred to me to check the mag release spring. Hats off to you sir! Coming from 1911s, I know a lot about magazine problems. I had a Kimber compact 1911 that came with unusable mags. Even with new springs, followers, and baseplates, I still didn’t trust them 100%. There are so many variations of followers, but eventually you figure out what works. Every time. A long time ago I found one company - Tripp Research - that provides 100% magazines and mag parts for 1911.
Johnny glock is the glock whisper. At my club i was going to open a mag rehab center 🙂 . People think i am nuts i clean my mags before i put them away into my range bag. All my mags not just my glocks Great instructions again
replacing the Springs with a 12 coil and an 11 coil very smart I've been doing that for at least the last 15 years with my G17 and G19 mags but replacing the followers IMO completely unnecessary just clean them on a regular basis.
Good to see you back. A baby bottle brush is a good cleaning tool for mags and inside mag wells too (just dont get the foam tip kind or they could leave foam chunks in places you dont want them).
"It feels like the bathroom floor in a movie theatre..." Watching flicks at Pee-Wee's Funhouse again? :D Awesome video man. You packed a ton of info into such a short video.
So good to see you back Johnny! I've been using newer model Magpul 12 Rd. Exd. Mags. in my Glock 26 gen 5 carry gun. Have put many hundreds of HP and other rounds thru them and never a problem. I look around the internet and people either swear at them or by them. I would go on what you say Johnny, trust your experience!
Another great video. What would be a good round count to look at all this for mantance. You don't know how many mags I gotten for free because people don't want to mess with them . And their super cheep to fix. This is way I love your videos you show every step. What's your opinion on brake cleaner to clean with ? Also what spring would you use on a 17 mags
ironically sometimes you have to break the safety rules to be safe. like dry firing or inspecting parts. ur gonna muzzle urself from time to time. just be smrt about it. as long as u dont break two or more at the same time you should be good to go. haha
On the range during qualification I have had slapped a magazine home and the slide would automatically drop stripping a round where I continued to shoot. Is this something your familiar with and is it a problem? I’ve never had a stoppage or double feed or any issues.
Don’t mean to sound like I’m asking a silly question but I have no one teaching me so I’m learning as I go, but how often should you clean out your magazines then?
Thanks, really interesting. I have a Lone Wolf 40 S&W, and I was wondering if it would benefit from a replacement trigger. The one in it is a bit spongy as the previous owner was a gun mechanic. I am here in Australia, and access to spares is limited. Can you suggest a brand of trigger I could chase up, cheers
Holy shit great info.... What and where is the spring you pulled straight out of the frame at 5:38... I tear my glocks apart for cleaning all the time and have bought a few of your triggers... I have never seen that spring before..
He took that mag release out so quick! You are truly the Glock whisperer!
Most educational channel i have found on TH-cam thank you for sharing such valuable information....🇺🇸

The most impressive part was how quick you removed and replaced the mag release.
Yeah, that little tool he uses really makes it easy. I have an old wax sculpting tool that happened to work the exact same way. Absolutely wonderful!
It was like a magic trick. He did it so quickly I had to play it back to make sure he actually took it off the gun 😂
Brand of that tool need one
I have a haaard time with that 😁 I usually have my buddy swap those out. Not as quick as Johnny but not as slow as me
Yeah. I was like holy crap, all in the wrist on that one! I just subscribed!

11 coil G17 spring in a G19 mag. Got it. Thanks man!
Great info! Thanks so much! Not enough videos about magazine maintenance, cleaning, or inspections. You covered it all! Thanks again!
These simple measures are detrimental & often overlooked. JohnnyG you are true to your craft & a damn great armorer, best of the best IMO.
Johnny glock is the glock whisper. At my club i was going to open a mag rehab center 🙂 . People think i am nuts i clean my mags before i put them away into my range bag. All my mags not just my glocks Great instructions again
So glad I found this channel. Thanks big time for all the critical info. you share.
Thanks Johnny! You really covered a lot of great information. Having a gun in the shop with all of those problems makes for a great video.

I always learn so much from you! You are the freakin man!

That’s what I use. Works great.
Great video… just started watching your videos.
Good stuff. Just subscribed.
Your videos are the best
Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I have quite a few Gen 5 19 mags that need the springs replaced. I’ll be putting in 17 springs for sure.
excellent video. Johnny sure does have a passion for what he does. Such a cool dude.
I wish I could be your apprentice bro! You’re the man with them Glocks 👊🏾
I’ve got a long ways to go for 15k on my G23 but I might have this issue with my 365xl that I bought used. 👍
Great video and tips. Thanks for the heads up on the springs.
Can you say what brand of magazine spring that was that you use and spoke so highly of? Thanks, love your videos.
Well organized troubleshooting tutorial, not so sure about the movie bathroom thing? Stay well Homer!
Thx u Prof.Jhonny ...
That carpet runner really beings the space together.
Thanks for the tutorial, also!
magazines matter, in all semi, or fully automatic firearms. if your mag is trash, your gun dont run!
Gun no run, gun no fun.
Dental 190/191 elevators work great for the mag catch spring.
I run Glock OEM 99% of the time. Would you agree that ETS mags are cheaply made? Any opinion on FAB Defense mags?
Man...I am watching all of your videos and its better than binging "Breaking Bad". So informative and interesting to watch and learn.
Me too.
The comment "These are older mags". Me sitting here with my First Gen (non drop free) mags in my carry G-17...
Great informational vid.
Baby bottle brush from dollar store works great for cleaning mags!
Your knowledge is AMAZING!!!Thank you!
Dude my first video w you and man I learned everything you wanted to teach on this one. Awesome!

Just bought some Glockmeister 11 coil springs for my gl19 gen4

Johnny Hedgehog! Love your videos, always very informative.

U the man 🙏
"It feels like the bathroom floor in a movie theatre..."
Watching flicks at Pee-Wee's Funhouse again? :D
Awesome video man. You packed a ton of info into such a short video.
Mag lives matter...great video brother.
I just buy new mags when they have multiple issues
Very nice video. Love your process and dedication to your customers. What springs are you using in the Glock 17 magazines?
We all would like to know.
Why would the mag catch affect whether the slide locks back? Does it put the slide at a weird angle?
You are a wizard.
Johnny can't you use a 40 glock magazine with 9mm ammo on my g19 g4 or do I need to change the follower
Can you lmk how and what kind of spring you have in ur 17 round Glock mag. I would like to do the same with my 17 rnd mags
Do you have any tricks to make the Shield S15 mags (43x) reliable? I bought 2 mags. 600-700 rounds of inconsistent behavior. Failure to feed issues.
I have a g19 gen 5 should I get the g17 spring in mine I tried looking but I can't find 11 coil g17 spring
Long Live Gaston
can you tell us where we can buy mag springs affordably
So good to see you back Johnny!

Johny G sipping that anti-viral juice like it's nothing.
It's Johnny G, showin' how he roll
Sippin' on anti-v juice...slide back
With his mind on his gunny
And his gunny on his mind
So when you add that extra two coils of spring and have the magazine fully loaded, do you experience any magazine swelling?
Loving your videos, just found you this week. Would you recommend running 19 springs in a 26 magazine? Thanks for all the info.
Don't eff around with an old mag, buy a new one.
Wouldn't trimming the mag catch slot make it loose cause every Glock mag gets that deformed upward bend after use.
Gen 5 pistols only reliably work with Gen 5 mag followers?
I need to rebuiid 2 of my 10 round mags. I see a 9 coil and 10 coil spring are offered. How do I know which one is correct?
hi,
are the longer springs for 17 mags also oem?

Ok so what's the mag spring replacement for the g17
Wolff extra power (+10%)
Should I use G22 springs in my G23 mags for the same reason?
Great video! What would you recommend for a spring in a G17 mag?
So, we're just going to overlook the aftermarket P80 (or whatever) frame? Not even a mention as to how that could change things? LOL
Don’t mean to sound like I’m asking a silly question but I have no one teaching me so I’m learning as I go, but how often should you clean out your magazines then?
Full Glock magazine.... It rattles when shaken. Anything wrong? What causes that?
Wish u were Johnny m&p 2.0🤣
Hey JohnnyG, where can I get one of those extended grip plugs?
Thanks, really interesting. I have a Lone Wolf 40 S&W, and I was wondering if it would benefit from a replacement trigger. The one in it is a bit spongy as the previous owner was a gun mechanic. I am here in Australia, and access to spares is limited. Can you suggest a brand of trigger I could chase up, cheers
Looks like the locking block pin and trigger mechanism housing pin were swapped..? Too late now 😂
Good points.
More videos PLEASE!!!! We need your knowledge!!!!!!!
Holy shit great info.... What and where is the spring you pulled straight out of the frame at 5:38... I tear my glocks apart for cleaning all the time and have bought a few of your triggers... I have never seen that spring before..
Where can I get the springs and followers?
So in cases where you have an extension is there a good rule of thumb for coils per round?
Where is the best place to buy all the parts?
