- Wow! Well the weather turned out to be kind allowing a restful nights sleep after working hard this week. Carl Wark, Peak District, an Iron Age fort was my home for this overnighter. I enjoyed a favourite dessert of sponge and custard and share my news about getting paid from TH-cam. OooWwwww much? Is a question folk ask a lot as they can’t believe that I earn a few pennies from sharing my wild camps, I still can’t believe it myself. What an awesome feeling, I do a job that I’d do for nothing and I camp only for myself and share my love for it only to be rewarded in multiple ways. I am one very lucky woman 🧡
Another lovely spot up on there Sarah.. spent many hour on that west rampart looking & feeling for something it's a special place with a ton of history which I think is one of the amazing things about the peaks.

Thanks Andy! Definitely a place to choose carefully what with the crowds and cows! Even when not camping I always walk the land there and enjoy getting out, stopping on my favourite rock and sipping a hot coffee with a view, admiring the views shared by our ancestors too. It’s always been a firm

Today, we have just returned ‘down south’ from a two week visit to the Peak District. Ironically last week we walked from Toads Mouth up the track to Burbage bridge, then crossed the stream and up to the Roman Fort, back down and over the pack horse bridge, then crossed the road to Longshaw. ( The Peak District is the best place on Earth) 👍
I second that! How lovely that you got to spend so long here 🧡 bang on the money there, it’s the best place and I feel extremely lucky to live within a stones throw from it. One of my first rock fascinations was ‘The Toads Mouth’ he gazes up proudly like he’s the gate keeper to Padley Gorge at the top there as the road bends around. My late grandparents taught me about it but it was some years later I walked close to it. Lots of rubbish about down there which is a shame! I hope you had a great trip. Hello Sarah, another wonderful and enjoyable vid. For me, it's similar, the set up, the relaxing, the coffee, the food, and the clearing of the brain. I do like some quiet background tunes and will deal with the weight of a chair for me old bones.
But it is being alone in nature, with a humbling starry sky that reminds us how equally insignificant we all are among such immense grandeur.
It seems to me humanity could use a lot more humbling.
I knew it ❤thank you for sharing what you gain from wild camping. I knew that it wouldn’t be too dissimilar from my own pleasures. I feel quite protective of my love for wild camping, especially when people try to tell me that I shouldn’t be doing it and it’s illegal etc…so long as we respect the land we sleep on, leave no trace, we should continue to celebrate the wins from our outings 🌟

Thank you Mr PD Viking 😍Took me from 25th Dec to 10th feb for the threshold to go over £60 and update. Just updated my tax information and a small payment of 26p was paid in my bank yesterday. That’s all verified now as well as sending a picture of my passport. And verification of my address via a pin etc etc lol. First payment should hit my account by end of this month 👍🏻

I take my 20 plus scouts on summer camp each year and love seeing them all have fun and concur their fears and forget about tv phones and games consoles for a while

Nice little video, thank you for sharing. I can't help to notice that since you got your new sleep mat that you don't sit on it. I think I can remember you used to sit on your previous one. The problem that you had when it bulged out was unfortunate. It's just one of those things. Don't be afraid to sit on your new one because of that. Just because you had that unfortunate failure. 😊
Thank you for watching 😊actually mentioned why I wasn’t sitting on it in one of my recordings but I must have edited it out as I have so much footage at the end of my trips. I mentioned that I’m nervous to sit on it incase it’s pops (I’ve got trust issues ha ha!) The Big Agnes is really comfortable and feels robust. I feel like sitting on the floor gives me more headroom in the Soulo as the Agnes’s mat is thick. What I’d like is a backrest so I can sit back and relax, I’ll look into what’s on the market (for winter use, as usually I’ll be outside say agains a rock on the ground etc) BW, Sarah

Cracking video lass! Just back from a week's hols camping. Both have a certain aroma lol mostly camp fire. To me that's what makes it special for me sitting watching a camp fire and enjoy switching off from the world. Take care of yourself and family 💖

When I used to camp (too old now) what defined a good camp to me was... being off work, enjoying my camp mates company, a great campfire to sit around and looking up at the billions of stars that humble us. Great video...thank you and God bless.

Nicely Sarah! Another good one chuck. My favourite times are: Cycling along on 't tops on my push-iron!, discovering a new place after a hike; could be a castle, ancient monument/ruin/ hillfort/stone circle etc. A peaceful night camping in the countryside with the milky way above. But alongside that...seeing my books in a shop, finishing a project, learning a new song on a guitar. Also dancing without a care in the world and getting lost in the music; be that on my tod doing Northern Soul, or wi aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar lass doing Rock and Roll/Lindy etc.

I do run my channel as a self employed busines, very interesting setting it up and learning the in and outs, and setting all gear etc you buy against your tax, even driving out to rece a camp can be set against your tax, well that's my interpretation, more to running a TH-cam channel than you think, all very interesting, look forward to your next adventure Pat
Hiya Pat! 👋🏻 thanks for watching, I remember your leaning block camp and loved so much your drone footage of the two plateaus. I also remember watching fondly as you waited patiently for the walkers to disperse so that you had the place to yourself. It’s always better to camp out of sight of people so you can get the most from your camp. That’s my thoughts anyway. Interesting what you say about running your channel, in my job I have tax relief from registration fees with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and also get it back for washing my uniforms! Etc etc…it ain’t all bad. Hope the car camp plans are coming along nicely and your drinking plenty of tea in that pub shed of yours ha ha!

What makes a camp for me I think is really the journey. It’s what I do before and after it. I don’t often go out to just sleep out. When I’m there I like to sit and cook. Could just be slicing an onion and chorizo and throwing in a pasta sauce mix and boiling some pasta etc. it’s just the sitting and cooking. Keep up the good work 😊

Throughly enjoyed your latest vid. I must visit the area again with the Grandson in our Allak 2. We climbed Lose Hill and Mam Tor a couple of years ago and got blown off our feet a couple of times. It is a beautiful place.

You asked us what makes a great wild camp? Personally I think it's nearly impossible to have a wild camp that isn't great (unless your tent blows away or some such disaster 😂)
Being all wrapped up in my bag, listening to non man made sounds makes it great for me and being all on my own ( I've only ever wild camped solo, can't imagine sharing the experience)

I don’t normally watch anything more than 20:or 30 minutes but this one had me quite absorbed. Many thanks from The Cotswolds. I lived in Northumberland for 70 years and holidayed in The Peak District (busman’s holiday as far as outdoors concerned). I came here. 3 years ago for family reasons. No hills here and difficult to get a wild camp but brilliant cycling.
Hey 👋🏻 thank you for sticking with me! I watch my video before it’s released to make sure it’s as good as I can get it and honestly that time passes so fast doesn’t it? I always want to try and cut them down and my ideal length would be 30-40 minutes however I just can’t do it, it’s not in my talky nature and if I’ve got something to day I say it 😂 I like to think that each video is a story. I never know what each videos theme will be until I’ve reached the end of the edit. I hope to always work like this, organically and honestly 😊 living in Sheffield (a city surrounded by 7 hills and the peak district) there’s never any flat parts. I wonder what it’s like living in a flat place? Great for cycling miles! BW, Sarah
@@SoloSarahBX I thought the Cotswolds were flat until I resumed cycling here! Not high but always undulating and very steep even if relatively short climbs. I worked in the NHS,at one point I did full time nights,must have been horrendous impact on my health.
I was lucky and could take early retirement.
Now I walk in peak,lake District and run,done two marathon s(one trail,never ran till I retired).
Going to get into some wild camping,with pole tent,going lightweight.
What fuel do you use in the stove,going to give them a go.

2nd comment... Cows! I really can't stand them, frighten the beejeesus out of me. The thought of waking up with one of those near my tent is awful. I saw animal poo up there but assumed it was sheep. I'd have pitched differently if I knew it was cattle!

Keep them rolling in… I reply to everyone 😅 COWS they are big ginger beauties around there and because there’s cow crap everywhere I can’t work out where their favourite spots are, I’ve found 💩 in all of my camp sites bar one out there so it is definitely a consideration but I’ll not be put off 😊 One observation. They seem to go low into the valley at night and go to higher ground to graze by day. Short Grassy patches are popular with them and hollows away from the wind for natural shelter…I hope I never upset them while I’m

😂😂😂 I can’t believe how much I pay in deductions from my day job as a midwife, not to mention 2 student loans that I probably will pay for the rest of my working life. I never imagined being monetised on here. I’m here for the community and my love of camping, so it feels like I get a birthday card with pound coins sellotaped to it. Even if I could resign from my work, I never would. I know camping is always within my grasp so long as I stay fit and healthy, I’d still love camping in my garden 😂

Lovely camp again Sarah. Congrats on your payment, hope it's the first of many. One of the best things on a camp is when possible, a camp fire. The conversations around a camp can be amazing. Keep up the genuine camp videos.
I think it will be interesting to update my supporters on the TH-cam income and maybe some other interest facts that I pull out from the analytics in the Studio APP. The only thing that will be different in my videos will be the locations, odd kit changes/developments and maybe conversations that spring to mind. I love it purely for the camping and my surroundings. Maybe one day I’ll try a woodland camp with a fire but I’d be very picky about where this would be ☺️ ATB, Sarah

Struggling to get out right now, what with me feeling crap, Jackie not being well, and a dirty weekend in Whitby (no video of that LOL) plus I got a video to edit as well (my recent walk up Kinder). Gigging on Saturday, with a potential visit to see my mate on Friday so the weekend is full too. Although I did pick up a set of Merino wool baselayers for dirt cheap from the Mountain Warehouse on Whitby harbour. Hoping to get out the weekend after, really missing it. I can’t give a great long term review on it due to mostly having signal where I go camping. @@skiddmurks if you look back on my community post on TH-cam I included some pictures of the app that is used with the device. I used it to report back to home when the phone signal coverage dropped off on Kinder Scout. The satellite coverage is great and interface so simple to use. Take a look…ps it’s not too expensive either and gives peace of mind on every trip
I certainly will do. The price of these garmins and zoleo are abit much for me. They do use a better satellite cluster I believe. The Motorola can have issues in certain places in the world. But the UK should be OK. Thanks for your time 🙏

Potential. If I was continually out in Scotland or the lakes I’d definitely invest in a Zoleo I think but the Peak District is my stomping ground and I’ve only found a few dead spots so far…best of luck with your final purchase 👌🏻
I recently asked one of the channels I support financially (sorry you aren't one - yet!) which of the payment methods give the biggest cut to content creators, and he said Patreon is substantially better than TH-cam membership. In fairness, YT is providing the platform, but on the other hand they are really piling on the ads so I'm pretty sure they aren't starving. I'm subscribed to Premium, which partly funds monetised channels, so perhaps what you received included 0.0000000000001p from me! 😄
