Personally I love how Rosalina (who you've just met and don't know to much about yet) isn't the only one helping you throughout the adventure. Luigi and Captain toad and the toad brigade also help Mario collect power stars and even have their own dedicated area in the observatory.
It shows thay you're never truly alone even in the vast area of space

Super Mario Galaxy will always hold a special place in my heart, I remember being a young kid playing on my wii and being amazed at the graphics & the art style, that still holds up. I loved listening to all of the music and still do to this day. Galaxy 2 was great but the first game was truly something special.

This game has got to be one of the best games of all time. It's always a blast to play again, the entire soundtrack is amazing, and each of the galaxies are so interesting to explore. Bowser has got to be at his peak in this game, his music is the best in the series apart from maybe mario 64's final theme. His fight is also really unique and I love that he uses the spin attack against you. It really makes mario and bowser seem like equals, and that the fight could easily go either way. And then there's Super Mario Galaxy 2 which has got to be the best sequel of all time. It's the original but better in every way apart from the bowser fights.

The Mario 128 part is very interesting. It originally began development for the N64 or N64DD as Super Mario 64 2 but then shifted to the GameCube as Super Mario 128, which was just a tech demo but Miyamoto would use the idea in Pikmin just a year later. Parts of the tech demo were used in Mario Sunshine and would more so carry on over to Mario Galaxy a full 7 years later.

    • @customsongmaker
      @customsongmaker ปีที่แล้ว +2

Miyamoto said he wanted to have Mario walking upside-down and around a tiny planet, but the 64 couldn't do it. That may have been the main reason for the analog stick, and then they couldn't even do it. Or maybe he got the idea from the analog stick.

I remember crying a lot for not understanding why all my beloved Lumas had to die, I just thought the ending was too abstract, but after revisiting the game again, I finally understand.

It's the first game that made me go wow these are what games can be! It's a very special game to me for that reason and will always be a special part of who I am. I recently got it running through a emulator on my steam deck. I can't wait to give it another go after all these years and rexperience my love for this masterpiece. Thank's so much for this video! It's awesome seeing someone talk passionately about something you love so much even if you dont know them. Mario galaxy is a game I'll always be thankful for the love it gave me for gaming. I remember when I first completed Super Mario Galaxy 100% with all 121 power stars with Mario and Luigi. It felt like a huge accomplishment to me because it took weeks. I’d say about at least a month, but it was worth it. I’ve also 100%ed Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario 64, Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario 3D World, and a lot more. There’s a few I haven’t played yet like Mario Odyssey, but I’ve seen gameplays of it and it looks fun.

Ah I finally get to talk about my favorite galaxy. Melty Molten Galaxy to me feels like a sort of final streach that takes different elements from Mario's adventure and combines them into a singular Galaxy from a tense run to get to the top of a sinking structure to a brilliant reuse of a boss in an epic finale. It makes you reflect on your adventure while going through a lava filled hellscape not to mention having what I consider the Best song from both games.

Great video and great channel! I grew up with PlayStation and Xbox and only got a Wii U a year before the Switch. So I don’t have that same nostalgia feeling like you, but I do enjoy playing these games now. They truly are some of the best games ever made and these videos reflect that. Great content! ❤

Wow that bowser battle looks so cool! I already knew that Galaxy 1 had an entire observatory vs the little starship in Galaxy 2, but the Bowser battles seem so much cooler in the first game! You switch planets in one fight! And at the center of the universe! That's so much cooler than Galaxy 2's asteroid stomping thing. And it doesn't even have cool cutscenes like the first Galaxy game. I've got to play the first one some day as well.

I cried through this entire thing. With the ending you really caught me...
It´s so long ago yet I remember various sessions trying to overcome the challanges as a child. Back then I was maybe maybe 10, even younger maybe.
Thank you for bringing me back (and making me cry rivers lol). It felt amazing yet very sad. But after buying the new OLED switch I will definitely play Mario Galaxy again.

Damn what a well created video, I honestly didn’t even know there was one secret level to play once you get all stars and beat the game plus you didn’t spoil it! Thank you so much for that. I hold this game so close to me just because of its nostalgia it gives me but for some reason it just never gets old for me. Thanks for making this awesome video!

This is one of my favorite games of all time and I am CRAVING to play it rn. Other than that this game had such incredible gameplay and level design, and not to mention on of the greatest atmospheres I have ever played in a game. This was only enhanced but the smooth and psychedelic soundtrack. This game is a genuine masterpiece

When I was younger, I think about 9 or 10 I finally completed a journey that I started at 6: which was to 100% super mario galaxy. It took me 3 1/2 years to do it mostly bc I was so young. It was my favorite game for a long time and it will always hold a place in my heart. This is also probably about the time when Rosalina became my favorite mario series character. I still play her in Mario Kart/ Mario Party. I still get shivers down my spine whenever I hear music from this game. Its phenomenal. Thank you for being such an amazing part of my childhood Super Mario Galaxy! (I still get Flashbacks to Bouldergiest Daredevil Run)

I remember getting this game, and my Nintendo Wii for Christmas when I was around 7 or 8. To this day it was my absolute favorite Christmas ever. Playing that whole opening in my comfy Christmas bathrobe, filled up with chocolate and Christmas foods... man, ya just can't beat it. I'm a writer now, and I think about this game so much when I'm writing. Some day I want to create something that can make as much of a positive impact on someone as this game had on me.

I hope we can have Galaxy 3 instead of odyssey 2. The cappy is a great idea but I think a Galaxy sequel could be more original than more kingdom, more captures. I would rather have odyssey dlc instead since the mechanic is good enough. Galaxy on the other hand, haven’t had a game since 2010. A switch to a more Mario 64 style mini sandbox, it’s the perfect middle ground between the Galaxy stage and the vase openness of Sunshine and Odyssey. If they go full odyssey, they can’t focus as much in level ideas more to the Galaxy games. Modern graphics and moves would be great like the spin jump and roll since they have been in 3D world and it worked. HD graphics like the odyssey like grass and a more modern lighting would also be great too. I think there can be more of the storybook. To connect the childhood of Rosalina to the event of Galaxy 1. However, a short story outside the storybook is fine since I would rather have them explain the details in the book so it can be a mystery thought the game, maybe a comet observatory to reference and maybe more town themed instead of peach’s castle. It can have wind mushroom that can blow wind updraft to make something higher and the split melon being a sunshine reference with the splitting fruit mechanics. This game have 240 star with 4 main stars, 2 comet and 2 secret for each level. Multiplayer would be appreciated too. I see it only works for two player rather than four but it’s better than none. Not only that, they can make a new hub that utilise the gravity mechanics(Rosalina’s Space station), there is a relax room for story book and five Starshroom from Galaxy 1 to adventure out. Luma can have power ups too, they are star shaped and can bring mechanics like attract starbit, coin and stars by spinning or a double spin with a large range. It can combine different themes to create new galaxies too, like a beach Galaxy with a oasis or a toy galaxy but with machines too. Galaxy 3 can have so much originality rather than repeated stuff, also I think this game shouldn’t be numbered and named ‘Super Mario Galaxy Returns’. This is a different Galaxy game that recaptures galaxy in a slightly different away rather than reusing element of Galaxy games.

@@Yosssssssss nah, I don’t think bowser will team up with Mario, I think this will be the final send off and best bowser we have ever seen. At the end of the story, bowser have reformed with a supernova and kamek became ashes. Bowser is giga sized and you need to create gravity field to let bowser fall.

I'd give this video 10 likes at once if I could! That's because Mario Galaxy is my favorite game of all time! From the visuals in its space-based theme to the memorable soundtrack, and so much more! Rosalina had recently become the best Mario character, in my opinion, simply because she's a caring, loving, and nurturing mother figure, not just to her Luma children, but possibly even to us! (I'm not sure about that, but from what we see, that could be true in a way.) That storybook? Oh, that storybook... As a kid, I had no idea what it was, but replaying it becoming an adult, that ending part of Chapter 7 breaks me down in tears. I was took by surprise when you said that Shigeru Miyamoto, despite his hatred for storytelling in video games, actually loved Rosalina's story after Yoshioki Koizumi showed it to him the day after writing it late at night with no one there. The main reason why I love this game has to be the final fight with Bowser! I mean, you're fighting a huge reptilian creature in the center of the universe! This game does what no other Mario game does, and that's what makes it stand out amongst them all!

I was literally CRYING when I saw that scene of the Lumas stopping the blackhole when I was a kid. I have never cried like that from a video game before. I think that's one of the reasons why I loved Mario Galaxy so much. It was such an emotional game no matter where in the game you played. Man, I really wish that we got a Mario Galaxy 3.
