Some people may be curious about the original video I made on Galaxy, so I figured I'd link it here for context: th-cam.com/video/STxFGasbeGk/w-d-xo.html Don't make me regret this.
Nothing hits quite like Mario Galaxy does. The orchestrsal soundtrack, gorgeous space visuals, and weirdly epic feel the whole game has. The amount of creative ideas packed into this game is great, and I personally love the linearity. Glad I'm not the only one who gets hit by the storybook so deeply. Your essay skills continue to get better and better, thanks for talking about this amazing game!
Galaxy gave me the same feeling that 64 gave kids in ‘96. The first time I laid eyes on it, it felt so futuristic, like I was peaking into the future of gaming. It was one of the first games I saw being played on the Wii with motion controls, the gravity mechanics were out of this world (ha), not to mention how grandiose the entire game felt. The more time that passes the more I’m convinced this is the closest a Mario game has gotten to being perfect, at least in 3D. Nothing about it feels half baked. A legit masterpiece.
This channel is proof the algorithm is rigged. You deserve way much more recognition. Just watched all of your Mario videos and while i dont agree with all of them, your reviews are very well constructed
Mario Galaxy was always so much fun to play as a kid. Most of our nunchukes were broken so when we got a new one and I could actually get to play Galaxy it was amazing. I loved everything about the game. The music, the art style, the gameplay. It's kinda crazy i was able to do stuff like Mega Leg or the manta ray as a really stupid 8 year old. Definitely one of the best highlights of nintendo and for the Wii. I hope we can get a galaxy 3 in the future Also rosalina back story as a children's book with a similar art style to The Little Prince is actually amazing. I cry every time i go back to it
I have literally been crying uncontrollably, I watched this video cause I am going through a very horrible depressive episode after I was sure I had progressed passed a certain point and I just wanted to watch some Mario Galaxy, I feel a bit less alone. Thank you.
Super Mario Galaxy was a magical experience for me and hit me at the right time as I was transitioning into adulthood. I'm glad it's been an ever-enduring classic for those who grew up with it.
I only played Super Mario Galaxy last year, but I enjoyed it a lot. It hasn't aged a day. One of my favorite games I've played, and you explained everything beautifully. I'm lucky I checked my subscriptions, TH-cam didn't even show this to me, I had to find it, hoping this video gets more attention, since all your stuff is awesome!
i grew up with Galaxy and galaxy 2 for me these games are still timeless and made alot of memories with smiles im happy to have the games in my possession and i only say i hope Galaxy 3 or even galaxy 2 will come to switch
A fantastic watch. There will never be another game like Galaxy to me, maybe partly because of it being a childhood game, but largely because of how every single aspect of the game seems to come together perfectly to create a masterpiece. The music compliments and even helps to expand upon the epic feeling of the levels, the mechanics and enemies feel amazing throughout the entire game and even though some players might not even see it in their playthrough the story only gets more emotional and impactful as I grow older. Also, wanna say that the audio in this vid is incredibly nice to listen to! Looking forward to the next project! :)
this has only 5.8k views, yet it felt exactly like a known youtubers work. Good job, I'm sure it'll pick up soon! I didn't even realize until the end lol
Everything talked about was so relatable. I didn't understand much of the story book as a kid either. I barely understood anything in the game as english isn't my first language. Hearing what the story was trying to convey makes me feel very somber but still happy I finally understood.
at this current moment b4 watching this video, I felt as If my life was falling into a downwards spiral and Its hard to see it get any better. but after your own comments about how growth and looking back at how far you've come, I feel excited for whats to come in life. Thank you for restoring my sanity, and thank you on creating a beautiful essay on my favourite childhood game.
I love the direction, I love the vibe, but I really wish you had more analysis and reflection than just explaining what was happening on screen for all of us to see. Match the music and the visuals to a thesis and have them prove that thesis to us. You're doing great!
I believe a game should naturally make you want to 100% fully complete it. To this day, Super Mario Galaxy 1is the only 3D Super Mario game that I have 100% fully completed. That is because everything is very doable. I rarely found myself blaming bad camera angles or stiff controls. I more often found myself blaming myself! That's why Super Mario Galaxy 1 is 1 of my top 3 Super Mario games (of both 2D & 3D Super Mario games).
Hey, posted a comment on the original video and got a reply. I am sad to hear you mention you will not be making anymore retrospectives on video games. I thought you did an excellent job and am sad to hear you are not making any more content like this!
Galaxy is one of the defining games of my life. 🥺 I loved it so much as a kid. I played through it with my family many times. It still holds a magic that is unmatched in many areas.

I totally relate to that. The game was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Hope you’re doing well btw, feel free to reach out to me for anything :)

This game is the reason i kept my Wii as a kid, even after the Wii U came out i played the Wii for Mario Galaxy.
Wait till you find out the Wii U can also play Mario galaxy

Mario Galaxy is my favorite entry in the Mario catalog. This video makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with this game. Thank you for this.

Truly a masterpiece of a game. I don't think a game will ever beat the atmosphere of Mario Galaxy. Love the scripted content, mad respect!
Dang who knew Mario would be teaching us life lessons about growing up 😭 Great video!

This video is a work of art, congrats my dude

thiis was the first game i played, and i still have it in my heart as one of my happy childhood memories
Man I’m so sad your video isn’t doing as great as it should, I’m sure you’ll get thousands of views in this soon enough!
i grew up with this game as well, your vid made me tear up remembering it all. thank you for the great video, please make more.

Man, you've really got me wanting to replay this game...again
Thank you for this video. The ending made me tear up
I also grew up with this game, it was a wonderful time. I still listen to the music. I don’t do this often, but have a like.

man I wish I could go back and play this game for the first time again
Babe wake up, new kohana vid just dropped 👀

How the hell do you only have 4k subscribers? This is excellent work bud.
Love the game. Love your voice. Love the video.
Lore of Super Mario Galaxy Retrospective momentum 100
We’re making it out of the hood with this one.
Great video. This is a love letter to a great game - reminds me of Skill Up's Red Dead 2 video. Good job!
I actually like the manta surfing, but I don’t like the bird gliding which is what replaced it in the sequel
The second best *video game* ever. The first is Mario Galaxy 2. Ya can't change my mind on that.
What’s your favorite Zelda game? Let me guess it’s Wind Waker because of your pfp.

Oh sorry, when I commented that I meant in the style of that original video. There will be plenty more videos in the style of this one!
S U PE R M A R IO G AL A X Y
I am replying this game for the 13th time
Which version of song is the one that starts at 2:19
Just wanna know what its called
It sounds like good egg but its a little different
Not Gusty is it?
Oh my gosh nvm its the green star theme from SMG 2 smh...it is the good egg theme just different style
It's a lil weird hearing music from the far inferior sequel in a video about the first Galaxy
Galaxy 2 isn’t really a sequel imo, it’s more of an expansion. Still an amazing game just not as special as the first one.
Galaxy is one of the defining games of my life. 🥺 I loved it so much as a kid. I played through it with my family many times.
It still holds a magic that is unmatched in many areas.
Good video man
