Thanks for this bro you saved me a lot of headache and helped guide me along my first ST brake change 😊
Super glad I was able to help 🙌 the rear brakes can be a bit tricky I wont lie lol
You need to use the metal plate provided with the wind back tool that way you don't have to push when winding back the piston
Thank you so much! Now I knoe for next time 🤣👌
@@megalodononwheels No problem mate, makes life a little bit easier!
I think when you retract the rear piston, you have to align the groves so that the nub on the pad will rest inside it
Ohhhhhh I see! Thanks I will actually have a look at it 🤔 maybe you just learned me something I didn't know
If you didn't do this, would this cause the pads to get really hot as well as the alloy? 😅😬 Mine were smoking today after a rear pad change, maybe I need to do as you say and line them up correctly as I guess the pads will be constantly rubbing against the disc
Great question, because if it is not in the groove it will mean it sticks out a bit further than it should... but at the same time the piston wont push as far out as it would have been when it is in the groove. 🤔 twisted mind here lol.
Also is your handbrake not to tight maybe? Maybe it was adjusted recently that when it is down it still has some tension on the brakes.
Very helpfull tahnk you
Glad I could be able to help 😊🙌
you didn't put copper grease on the tips of the brake pads and also on the backs. Also pulling the handbrake doesn't move the piston, only pressing the pedal will do that.
Thanks for adding 🙌 yea copper paste will work good and when I pulled the handbrake it felt like it was working, but yea brakes should work much quicker 😊
