The reason drum brakes are used is because they last for a very long time before needing replacement compared to disks due to the contact surface size and it's all contained from potential contamination (people cleaning brakes or using products they shouldn't) and low maintenance as they last longer and cheaper for manufacturers. That's at least what I've found about them. Also generate less heat although they don't dissipate the heat as good (would get fade if heavy braking was used very often). Great video I had no idea how to actually replace them mine are working fine but they're rusty as hell so I think I will buy a set and a new cover too :)
Here is a tip once you put the handbrake cable on the brake shoe then put the top spring on then the adjuster then the bottom spring they should hold themselves together enough so put it onto the backplate placing the side with the wheel cylinger starting eoth the handbrake side put that on fullyso the top and bottom is in place and put ita retaining clip on then all you need to do is use a screwdriver (anything that you can use to pry) pry the bottom of the other side into place and then out the retaining clip on (it is possible to do on your own)
Tbh they were just off ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271137198712?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=awNQcFpuSBu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=IZaIq_2cRPi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Doesn't show what was used in order to replace the top spring, makes it very complicated to replace the top spring not knowing exactly what tool was used to do it.
