    you really need to bench bleed the MC, it came with the hoses for a reason. the vacuum bleeder won't get all the air out once its on the car. There's no method that will get all the air out, thats why you have to bench bleed it.

    With those kind of bearings you usually want to scrape the edge of the bearing against your palm to force the grease up thru the middle of the races.

      Came to the comments to say this. Glad to see it already said.
      Put grease in your palm, then push the edge of the bearing into the edge of the grease until it come out the top of the bearing, turn a little and repeat.

    I don't know about disowning Nic, I have said before I worship at the alter of the old Big Block Chevys and Fords, ESPECIALLY the One True ZL1 all 427 inches of it, the 427 Side Oiler or the 428 Cobra Jet, but if someone 2J swapped an old muscle car, especially a pony car or an early compact like a Chevy Nova or a Ford Falcon, I can respect that.

    Thanks Jay! I've always done the old school brake bleed and even used a 20oz bottle 1/2 full of fluid and opened and pumped the shrader valve to bleed the brakes. Hell I even tried this POS vacuum hand pump to bleed them and hated it! Well today from Amazon came that air vacume setup you showed..... Will be finishing the axle swap out on the YJ Jeep tomorrow and needed to replace and bleed the brake system. Thanks man you helped a fellow wrench head out! BTW Had a 68 RS Camero and wish I had never got rid of it!

    Watched your other channel for some time now, never was aware you were into this until your recent "shop mess" video on twocents. I was a transmission builder and a play in the mud wheeler for many years, also a computer nerd. I prefer to keep my hands clean these days though.

    This whole series got me thinking about how my uncle has a 70 1/2 Camaro that's been sitting for the better part of the last 30 years...if I had the money and ability to convince him to part with it, that'd be a fun project (he keeps rationalizing that he'll fix it up for one of his kids some day...I just hope one of them will actually be interested in it).

    Really fun channel. My dad had a 67 Camaro when was a kid and I remember helping him install a center shift lever when he replaced the steering wheel shifter. Make more videos on this channel as they are really entertaining and I must say you look bored on the other channel. Don't blame you at all...If you start offering to mod local friends cars you will have plenty of material and I bet you can get more sponsors as they see you are successful on the other channel.

    Jay, Correct me if I am wrong, as I don't have the information to you're proprotioning valve and can only compare it to my knowledge of the stock unit. However, the port you mentioned you may plug off or cover the sensor, should be your brake warning light, it the event you loose brake pressure in either the fron or rear lines. please look it up before you discard it. You may have mentioned it, I did skip around the video a bit.

    the sensor on the proportioning valve is for a brake warning light. if you blow a line and your pedal goes to the floor that sensor detects the loss of pressure and throws and warning light.

    I think that switch on the proportioning valve can be used for the brake light (idiot light) in the the instrument cluster to let you know if the brakes have failed. that's what they are used for on stock vehicles anyways.

    Pro tip.... Use another 90 on the vehicle side and route your flex line towards the front around the ball joint/spindle then loop it back to a 90 on the caliper. Your current setup will put alot of stress on the flex line coupler and it could crack down the road. Don't ask me how I know....

      @@iaial0 You really get to appreciate just how much the front brakes help stop the car when you all of a sudden loose pressure to them.... Thankfully rear brakes are separated in the master cylinder so I still had them but it was quite a bit softer of a brake pedal to say the least.

    Hey Jay,
    If you haven't already, a really good safety practice, although a PITA to do with 2 piece rotors is to safety wire the bolts. This way you avoid warp on the disks in case they come back from vibration.

    not the brake pressure switch on the prop valve, it's the indicator on the dash if you have a brake problem, IE loose fluid in 1 side

      Okay, you compress the air to the point where piston reaches its movement limit, so it doesn't actually move through the lines, that's why your pedal fails when you have air in the system.

    You dont need brakes just put the original manual drum brakes. No vacuum needed. Giant camshaft. Start stopping a block before the intersection. Fun times

    you know how to get sponsors jay. go buy all of the tools needed. set up your camera and do what you do. work with a youtube personality. 1320 video, vinwiki, etc. make more content! i love your videos. vacuum bleed tools do work on some vehicles, but they can suck the line dry and then your in for a headache. you did not weigh the hub when you weighed everything.

    This three bolts that hold the rotor to the hub, I'd recommend putting some grease on the threads and then just nipping them up lightly (the wheels hold the rotors on anyway). Depending on quality of metal they are they can corrode easily and be a right **** to get off. But then again you are in a dry place so maybe not lol!

      i've run into this problem with my BMW's. I eventually replaced the set screws with stainless ones, with a bit of anti seize. just to be sure. Got 65K on one with no issues.

      The bolts didn't look conical on the ends, so I think they're just machined centered. It hurt me a little as well, but I more faith in Wilwood to make a least a decent product. So here's to no issues for lack of simple procedure on Jays part.

    NA LS7 with a good milled head and a spicey cam and good intake ( fuel injection at least) in manual C6Zs it's pretty easy to see 630-640 RWHP. I'm curious as to why your going E on an NA LS setup as I have yet to see anything above a 7hp gain. I am spoiled with pretty good 93 in my area but I don't see a benefit to going E on an LS. Now an LT that is a different story.

    Jay, what are you planning to do with the body? If your having it done properly then alot of the stuff your fitting in these videos has to be taken off again to repair and paint the body. So it seems your just doing stuff twice

    Be careful using brake park cleaner on brake rotors (sounds crazy right) I've used it before during a brake installation, and it ate off the protective coating added by the manufacturer, resulting in a crazy amount of rust.

    Every brake system I have ever worked on has the primary and secondary hyd system split to the corner, meaning front left and right rear are primary (usually) and right front and left rear are the secondary. Is this system different or did Jay just have it mixed up? Like the correct theory but he said front are one system and rear are the other.

      There are two types of systems according to my ~30 second google search: diagonal split and front/rear split 🤷‍♂️

    Someone needs to explain star patterns to Jay. Rotors should be tightened in a star pattern. If your rotors seem warped you now know why.

    Was just looking at Wilwood brakes for a Ford 8.8....I choked a little. Ok, they're good brakes, but the damn things aren't machined from gold!
    Gonna kitbash brakes, $700 is nuts for ONE axle worth of calipers and rotors.
