    I have two Teslas with two Wall Connectors power sharing one 60 amp breaker and it works very well. I'm very pleased as it would be a gigantic pain to run a second set of wires in my situation.

      @@chenglo8999 did it not work for you then? I have had a connector on a 60 amp circuit for a couple of years. Just added another connector to that same circuit. The ability to do this is one of the biggest advantages of the this device.

    Recommended manufacturer recommendation is 60a 240v circuit for 48amp load. Read the nameplate on the lower left side next to QR code. I’ve done this set up in Queen Anne 100 amp breaker stepped down and split into two both capable at times of 48amp load. Hardwired comm wire. This was the gen two tho when you had dip switches and dials for set up not buggy QR code. The set up process is rough

    I’m pretty sure this is a violation of NEC code 110.3(B) because Tesla Gen 3 chargers require dedicated circuits to be ran if utilizing ALMS. Furthermore code 625.22 states that all chargers need a personal protection device which to my best understanding is an individual circuit breaker.

    • @chenglo8999

      The gen3 have cutoffs/breakers built in to them. Electrician asked same question

      @@chenglo8999 i understand they have a GFCI built into them but per 110.3 this is not installed to the the Tesla specifications in their manual for the Gen 3 therefore it’s a code violation. If these were the Gen 2 this would be fine.

      Yup, not right. In the installation Manual: "For sites with multiple Wall Connectors, each Wall Connector must have its own branch circuit with L1,
      L2/N, and Ground."
      You could easily replace the junction box with a load center to fix this.

      2023 NEC Code now allows for this Tesla I assumes has not updated their instructions, so if his jurisdiction on 2023 or 2017 NEC code it is good to the code but unless tesla updates its instructions I believe it would be violation

    nice vid! so did you have a chance to plug in both EVs at the same time yet? do they do their job and load share depending on different states of charge? does the total amps supplied to the 2 EVs add up to 40 amps as you configured? I'm looking at possibly doing the same setup once the family gets a second EV. Thanks!

    I am adding a 60amp. Do you know if we only have one plugged in, if that one car will get maximum charge?

    • @chenglo8999
      @chenglo8999  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. If only 1 car is plugged in, it gets all of it. I shouldve gotten 60 amp too!

    Curious did you only do a 50 amp circuit? I did a 70 amp just in case I ever got a second Tesla. The Charger will do 48 amps each.

    • @chenglo8999
      @chenglo8999  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah. I was afraid i might trip the breakers if installed 60 or 70. Have only 100amp in garage. Minisplit has 30amp. Lifts use 20amp plus lighting and outlets for tools n vacuum etc. 50 has served our needs just fine for rhe last year.

    What happens if it's a condo with a shared garage of 6 EV different owners, would power all be shared equally? Is there a dependency? How would this work with access control?

    • @chenglo8999
      @chenglo8999  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The system allocates higher charge rate to lower range car first ie one can be at 25 amps and other at 15 amps. I cant comment in 6 charges in a circuit. Im not sure but i think system maxes out at 3 chargers on 1 circuit. Acces is simple. If car is within 5 or 10 ft, push button on charge handle and port opens. Assuming ur car is unlocked ofcourse. Really smart design!

    Thanks for posting.. not a ton of specifics on the web, so this is really helpful ... Do you have each of these chargers running back to the same breaker. Is there a subpanel involved? The video you said shows that it is possible w/ gen 2 (via the communication wire), but I havent been able to get a straight answer on gen 3.

    • @chenglo8999
      @chenglo8999  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From panel, 1 set 6 ga wires run from breaker to the grey box where theres a splitter. At splitter, separate 6 ga wires go to each charger.
