- Hey everyone, thought I would make a video explaining how to get mystery gift Pokémon from gen 3 without using a Gameshark or having to deal with distribution roms. The audio is a bit weird since I am using a Samsung phone to make this video, but I hope you enjoy it.

I forgot to mention in the video, Pkhex is not available as it is on MacOS. Not sure about Linux.
I glad that having GBA official Pokémon games. I have never sell nor abandon my games since I was a kid.

oh yeah by the way you should install ys menu on that r4 card since the software you are using on it has a timebomb that renders the card unusable after like 5 to 6 years

A much more straight forward (albeit expensive) option is using a GB Operator to rip the save. Its a seamless process and you can also play your cartridge on pc
I've ordered a GB operator almost a month ago. Apparently there are some warehouse supply issues. They say it will get shipped four days from today. Crossing my fingers.
Are you referring to the epilogue gb operator? I'm looking into getting this soon.
I got my GB operator in the middle of October. Yes the Epilogue GB operator. From what I can tell it’s developed by just one guy and the product is not beta anymore but there are still some updates needed to bring it to Joey Jr level of flash cart support. If you’re just looking to back up games and saves for official games, this works great. If you’re wanting to do it pretty much anything with flashcarts the Joey Jr is the better option. I have both.
I was looking to buy one, but then I found the Joey Jr by Benn Venn. It's much better imo, because unlike basically all other flashers, it doesn't need any special software to work, it works just like a normal USB stick. Meaning there's no worry about software support into the future. As long as USB exists, it will work.
It's also a bit cheaper than the GB operator.

It is possible to get the latios / latias if you use pokeemerald with the pomeg berry glitch.

i did this on Leafgreen. i have the Aurora ticket and Mystic Ticket but when i talk to the sailor he only offers to take me to the Sevii Islands. is there something else I need to do?
You need to make sure Mystery Gift is enabled on your game or it will not work. You can do this in game or through Pkhex if you set the flag as enabled. Hope this helps
You need to activate the flag in event flags. The item alone won't make it work.
If it works the same way as on Emerald, then you just need to complete the Sevii island event and after after that he should take you to southern island.

you have to check other boxes, not just the enable mystery gifts, there are two boxes that says something along the lines of “can travel to …” and just choose the island you want and then the sailor will allow you to go.
I tried on a flash cart and I can add the tickets to my bag but the boat only goes to slateport/lilycove or Battle Frontier
you gotta go talk to your dad in petal burg to get the ticket

When I download the backup tool onto and SD card and put into my DSLite, I keep getting stuck on an image of an SD card that says ? MENU
Am I using the wrong R4 card (mine is simply called SDHC "Dual-Core" from 2020) or the wrong backup tool software?

I added some items and saved my game then exported it back to the r4 card. It's not giving me the option to save restore it just asks to save backup. Any idea where I went wrong?
Hit the R button to cycle through saving and restoring

Is there a way to use emulators on PC and a save file from a flash cart (for instance, mine is an EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition) to get it? I only have one GBA and no link cable.
Edit: I also don't have a DS.
i get why you want that as an option, but there isnt a point to it since the roms are already on a micro sd card.

How do I get the dialogue from the sailor in Leaf green I have completed everything in the game and have the tickets in my bag. The Sailor just doesn’t acknowledge them.

I ran into the same issue, turns out I needed to speak to the man in green on the second floor of the pokemon center. If Mystery Gift is enabled he should appear, and will give you the event ticket you seek.

I dont have any fake carts unfortunately. Theres a ton of great resources online though on how to tell them apart, better than i can explain

not possible with r4. you need a modded 3ds that can rip the save files off of the games, if you have that then its the same process.
If you're not in a hurry, when the 3DS online will eventually be stopped, the DNS exploits should be able to be used with the 3DS games too.
So I followed everything in the video and I got all the mystery event items. But when I tried to board the ship, the lady didn’t recognize the pass and I couldn’t get to the islands. Any fix?

I did everything, even restored my save file, but when I open the game the save is the same that I firts sent to the R4. Do you have any idea why I cant restore my save file?
Did you make sure to save your changes on pkhex before putting the updated save file on your game?

I created a backup on my R4, then I played a couple of minutes on my gba and tried to restore the save just to test and see if works, and it didn't work
I tried again a lot of times, created a lot of other save files with other games, but none of them worked
followed all the steps but i get plenty of erros, can this be made with copy of the games or it has to be the original OG cartridges?
Which errors are you getting? and I dont know about fake copies.

Maybe but I have all the versions and they all say the same thing not just sapphire , idk maybe don't work on remake copys that 5 pack selling around there
@@rickyazz529 most likely. Those fake copies often dont work properly. I have a copy of pokemon Dark Cry which is built on top of FireRed and it does the same thing

so I have enabled the mystery gift flag, I have added the items to my bag. but when I load the save, the items just aren't there. any ideas?

I imagine this also allows for injecting pokemon themselves inside the save files, correct?
@@mds_main yes. You can literally drag pokemon from pkhex onto your Desktop and drag them into another save file if youd like!
