    The translation project has now been released! You can watch it on my channel using the link below:
    th-cam.com/video/N9yE29Iy1J8/w-d-xo.html
    Old announcement:
    Hello everyone! We're currently working on a video to make translations for all of the events we made and some custom events as well! We still need some help for the last few translations, so if you're fluent in either German, French, Italian, Spanish or Japanese, then consider helping us translate the events!
    You can join the translation team by joining our new discord server!
    discord.gg/BF6FveS3mH
    Edit:
    We've now finished the translations for the events and are currently working on a video for it. Stay tuned!

      I am wondering if this is possible for the japanese version as I am replaying leafgreen and emerald in japanese on original cartridges.🤔
      The other question is if, when I can get it to work, the Pokémon will be transferable to Pokemon bank.

      Hey Goppier have a question for you. Can this be done with just use of a r4 SDHC card and a ds lite? GameBoyMan has tutorials about the mystic and aurora ticket, and he (as well as I) were able to transfer event data with just a ds lite.
      Is his event data and yours too different to be compatible?

    Wish Chansey is actually a big deal. Wish Blissey is one of the strongest support Pokemon in Gen 8 OU for example, but it's almost impossible to use on an actual cartridge game because of it's scarcity of being available for three weeks only. Guess this means we have a... more justified way of getting it now. We're using ROMs yes, but at least you're still hatching it like you would've in 2004. Better then nothing.

    Clicked on this video out of pure curiosity and interest and finally, after literally, what, 18 years of wondering, I FINALLY know how Altering Cave was supposed to work?
    I can't believe it, I spent SOOO long as a kid just thinking "it's so mysterious and kinda hidden away but there are just Zubats... What am I missing, what am I doing wrong, what is the mystery behind this cave?!"
    Well, now I know, they just never really finished it 😂

      I don't know why Goppier doesn't bring it up. Maybe he's not aware of this method, or maybe his distribution method does require use of a game boy advanced cable. With that, we successfully hunted shiny Deoxys in LeafGreen. We did use some of Digiex/Project Pokémon's other ROMs to get the remaining event items (we just distributed the Aurora Ticket to Emerald last week in July 2022), but it's nice to see we can get the Wish Eggs and the Altering Cave Pokémon, too. you guys are like heros to me, no joke ahaha
    i have OCD. i wasnt diagnosed until i was in my mid 20s, but looking back it was obvious ive had it since childhood. one of the most obvious ways it manifested was in how particular i was with how i played games; especially pokemon.
    my brain likes to take completionism to a whole new, unachievable level. and one of the things that drove me up the wall was being unable to obtain event pokemon "correctly." i HATE just hacking stuff in. i want The Genuine Experience™️.
    since ive been diagnosed and thus am able to have the condition properly treated w medication, etc, the obsessiveness has eased up a little, but being unable to "legitimately" obtain things in games is still distressing.
    you guys making this sort of thing possible is like a dream come true, ahaha. this is the sorta thing ive wanted to do in my games since i was a kid, and i cant thank you enough for working so hard to make things like this finally possible.

      @mrb692 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It would be cool if the events were more fleshed out, but needing to take your physical device to a specific place at a specific time sucked and it sucked even more as a 7 year old who needed driven everywhere.
      Not to go full boomer, but kids these days will never know the heartbreak of not being able to convince your mum to drive you to Toys R Us to hopefully be one of the first 1,500 people to get a ticket, of which only 200 were winners. And if you won, you’d have to convince your mum that the ticket itself wasn’t the actual prize and they’d have to take you back to TRU a week and a half later so you could physically trade for a Mew.

    This is really cool, and technically impressive. It's good that more people will get to experience these in a near authentic manner... but releasing these files has its own set of greater consequences.
    It's well documented that there are bad actors out there buying GBA dev carts, flashing event ROMs onto them, and passing them off as real to scam people on eBay. Having these modified roms in a manner where they cannot be easily identified as repos is a dream come true for these scammers. Another consequence is the flood of fakes could make tracking down and preserving real versions of the remaining event cartridges impossible.

    • @Goppier
      @Goppier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      We took measures ourselves as well to try and prevent these from being used in such manner. Like for example the watermark we added on the startup screen.
      Besides that a lot of these events were also not released in such a way (Eon, wish, altering cave) or not released outside of Japan (old sea map). The only ones that could be preserved are mystic ticket or an Aurora Ticket for emerald specifically. Even if they would take away the watermark for example, there still many many ways to see if the roms are legit or not.
      In the end we took it all into consideration. And we decided that a few bad apples should not prevent the joy of playing these events by unlocking them like this. From all the reactions I've seen, a lot of people are extremely happy that they can finally play these events

    Theres a small problem I find with the Mew event, this event was only released on Japan by official means, this sadly means that any Mew caught on the 3rd Gen games (specifically Emerald) HAD to be Japanese, otherwise aplications like the Pokemon Bank or Pokemon Home would not allow the player to transfer them to newer games

    • @Goppier
      @Goppier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      It's true that the Mew in the English games will not be legit (Pokémon Bank and Home will probably still allow it though), because it was never released outside of Japan. I personally don't mind this, because I just really wanted to finally play these events in GEN3!

    hi there! this is super cool and i'm really appreciative of all your hard work. watching this video was very insightful and it was fun to watch because of how well organized it is! i wanted to let you know that when trying to boot your custom ROMs on actual hardware (GBA SP using a Everdrive GBA flashcart), they just hang after the game boy advance logo appears alongside the nintendo logo. it simply freezes on that screen and nothing happens. i have tested numerous of them and all of them seem to have this issue. i know that it's not just an issue with my flashcart or my wireless adapter since i've used the original aurora ticket distribution ROM successfully with no issues (i even tested it again after yours freeze). is it an issue on my end, like needing to set a specific save type or turning RTC on/off, or could it be a bug in the original code that prevents it from working on original hardware or on my flashcart? i can confirm that they seem to open properly in emulator. thank you in advance and apologies for the trouble!!
