How to get Pokémon gen 3 Mystery Gifts (2022)
Hey everyone, thought I would make a video explaining how to get mystery gift Pokémon from gen 3 without using a Gameshark or having to deal with distribution roms. The audio is a bit weird since I am using a Samsung phone to make this video, but I hope you enjoy it.

Should you buy the Gameboy Player for the Gamecube? The Gamecube Player is quite expensive, and can be a turn off for a lot of people, and it definitely has its flaws.
The disc is trash and a waste of money. Best way to play gameboy and gba games using the gameboy player is by having a softmodded gamecube with Swiss. Then you can install Gameboy Interface and it allows you to play the games without the disc, zero latency and correct aspect ratio of 3:2

Why wouldn’t you just use the unlocked 2.4 ghz WiFi trick? No hacks or computer needed

A more "authentic" experience would be to use the WC3 Tool to inject the event into your save file after you back it up. You have to make a stop at Petalburg to get the ticket from your dad but it is more in line with the original event. In Ruby and Sapphire it was only the Eon Ticket, but in Emerald, LeafGreen, and FireRed you got the Aurora Ticket and Mystic Ticket as well which let you grab Ho-Oh or Lugia and Deoxys. In the JP version of Emerald you could get Mew; granted there's a hacked version of it that will allow it to be injected into a non-JP copy but it is considered an "illegal" event so if you plan on sending it onward to modern hardware/games it may be ill advised unless your copy of Emerald is JP.

I dont have any fake carts unfortunately. Theres a ton of great resources online though on how to tell them apart, better than i can explain

You have to also check "Received Eon Ticket" event flag.
Guys, marking Mystery gifts enabled is not enough, if you get the eon ticket, flag the mystery gifts, and you go to lilicove and nothing happens, is because you need to mark "Recieved Eon ticket" along with the mystery gifts flag.

The special pack they sold in 2004 (it was either GC+GBP, GC+Mario Sunshine, or GC+Wind Waker I think) literally reverted back to just the GC the day after my first wage dropped when I was 17. Since then I've always wondered if it was a cool thing full of extras like the Super Gameboy was. Guess it was much more dry. Thanks!
Is there a way to use emulators on PC and a save file from a flash cart (for instance, mine is an EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition) to get it? I only have one GBA and no link cable. Edit: I also don't have a DS.
i get why you want that as an option, but there isnt a point to it since the roms are already on a micro sd card.

So I followed everything in the video and I got all the mystery event items. But when I tried to board the ship, the lady didn’t recognize the pass and I couldn’t get to the islands. Any fix?

How do I get the dialogue from the sailor in Leaf green I have completed everything in the game and have the tickets in my bag. The Sailor just doesn’t acknowledge them.
you have to check other boxes, not just the enable mystery gifts, there are two boxes that says something along the lines of “can travel to …” and just choose the island you want and then the sailor will allow you to go.
I ran into the same issue, turns out I needed to speak to the man in green on the second floor of the pokemon center. If Mystery Gift is enabled he should appear, and will give you the event ticket you seek.

For me I think if you have a modded GameCube like pick boot or GameCube pnp loader the game boy player is worth it since the disk costs more than the game boy player itself
The Game Boy Player peripheral is absolutely worth it. However, the software disc is not. You get far better results with homebrew and launching Gamecube Interface, and you can do it with no modification to your Gamecube. There's really no need for the disc unless you just really want to have the official Nintendo product.

It is possible to get the latios / latias if you use pokeemerald with the pomeg berry glitch.

is it worth it nowadays? probably not. Though if you're like me and a few others who just have an old one lying around, yeah, it has it's niches. Most notably with being able to stream physical pokemon games for speedruns or trying to setup link cable battles on stream and stuff. Then yeah, its an INCREDIBLE tool there. Also a workout machine if you use warioware twisted with it as it makes you twist the whole gamecube, its pretty fun and actually works up a sweat xD

I had one connected to my family GameCube for the better part of a decade if not longer to the point it almost became fused to the console with how weathered down both units became, wasn’t that long ago I was cleaning through storage and found that plastic clear casing containing the startup disc alongside its manual after never knowing where it was for all that time. My parents flipped when I tried trading it for one of the actual handhelds, the pocketable SP. It comes out too blurry on the TV compared to playing on the real things, regardless of the close to no lighting on some models.

@@mds_main yes. You can literally drag pokemon from pkhex onto your Desktop and drag them into another save file if youd like!

A much more straight forward (albeit expensive) option is using a GB Operator to rip the save. Its a seamless process and you can also play your cartridge on pc
I've ordered a GB operator almost a month ago. Apparently there are some warehouse supply issues. They say it will get shipped four days from today. Crossing my fingers.
Are you referring to the epilogue gb operator? I'm looking into getting this soon.
I got my GB operator in the middle of October. Yes the Epilogue GB operator. From what I can tell it’s developed by just one guy and the product is not beta anymore but there are still some updates needed to bring it to Joey Jr level of flash cart support. If you’re just looking to back up games and saves for official games, this works great. If you’re wanting to do it pretty much anything with flashcarts the Joey Jr is the better option. I have both.
I was looking to buy one, but then I found the Joey Jr by Benn Venn. It's much better imo, because unlike basically all other flashers, it doesn't need any special software to work, it works just like a normal USB stick. Meaning there's no worry about software support into the future. As long as USB exists, it will work. It's also a bit cheaper than the GB operator.

I have mystery events flag on through PKHEX, have the eon ticket in my bag, but the lady in slateport doesn't give me the option to go to the southern islands. is there something I'm doing wrong? also using Ruby

so I have enabled the mystery gift flag, I have added the items to my bag. but when I load the save, the items just aren't there. any ideas?

3 gens of Pokemon + DKC trilogy + the first 13 Zelda games. Just for starters. I wish I did that way back when.

@@retrorewind6042 I kept mine and the disc from launch and I got the orange one later to from japan and some how I have 2 discs for the Japan game cube its really interesting the disc got rare and expensive. You mentioned lag some rare panasonic plasmas have game mode and that cuts back on the lag I have one from 2012 that has this.
