I love how a glitchthat was being used as a sudo creepy pasta i hear about as a little kid comes back years later to turn out to be the most game breaking glitch pokemon has probably ever seen.
The ARM/Thumb difference is whether the jump addresses' last bit is set or not. ARMv4T addresses are 2-aligned, so the last bit never makes a difference, and is used by the BX opcode to decide the resulting execution mode.
this is just so amazing. ive not played the games in YEARS but this really makes me want to pick it up again and go hunting for competitive pokemon for scarlet and violet
I just finished getting Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, Deoxys, Ho-oh, and Lugia using your previous video on these glitches. Funny that you just posted an updated process afterward. I find this stuff facinating!
I loved your first video on this topic and I love this one too. It motivates me to dig out my emerald cartridge and get into it again to finally fill those missing pages to have a complete national dex, including mythicals. Thank you so much for this, the way you present your information it easy to follow and process, even for an long time casual Pokemon fan. I'm off to go get me a celebi, jarachi and shiny metagross. Wish me luck!!
Oh! If I remember right, the reason some read ARM and some read THUMB is that code at "even addresses" is interpreted as ARM code and code at "odd addresses" is interpreted as THUMB code. The last bit of the address field doesn't actually change the location of the instruction, but instead sets the instruction decoding mode. So if your ACE pokemon jumps to an odd address, it switches the CPU to thumb mode!
I love that the new methods open up encounters in the Safari Zone! I don't have Colosseum, but I'd always wanted to try getting a shiny Heracross in Emerald with great stats to take all the way through collecting ribbons in each game! This makes that possible for me now :D

great job! this sort of stuff is always so interesting to me and just a heads up, the 4 squares in the top left of the cartridge is no longer a reliable verification method, some fakes have started including it
Amazing video as always! Glitches in Pokemon have been a passion of mine for overa decade at this point so im super glad to have found your channel! I was wondering if a sort of Encyclopedia for different Decamark varities existed like they do for gen 1 Glitch Mons and Items? Id assume making any strides in investigation here would be difficult due to the sheer quantity that exist but i'd be interested in any efforts have been made!
I know there was some effort made, but idk how extensive it is. Would have been a glitch city labs thing, but that website went down after the Nintendo source code leaks. There is still a wiki and a discord though!
For anyone not getting the diploma screen when executing the code using an english game, initially I was getting warped to the front door of the last pokemon center I entered, like Oldale. It was like I was being whited out but without any message saying I was. I figured I had come so far by that point I should just keep going, and then when I finally executed the Birth Island code the diploma finally showed up and the code worked just like in the video. Maybe it's not always the diploma that shows up initially, but eventually it did and I got to Birth Island. Thanks to everyone who put so, so many tireless hours into figuring this out. Simply amazing work!
This happens to me and I get warped to the entrance of the last pokemon center I was in after executing any code. So far I’ve done several codes to unlock event islands and no certificate has ever shown up for me…I’m not sure if I typed a box name wrong or something but nothing seems to be out of order despite the different code execution so idk
Thanks to this video and a video by im_a_blisey, I got 6 Shinies from my Emerald to send up to Pokemon Home! They were Mew, Deoxys, Latios (Southern Island), Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. I just wanted to thank you for making such a comprehensive, easy-to-follow video over Emerald ACE, and I can’t wait to see what other crazy experiments you have in store for the Pokemon community moving forward!
been watching this topic for updates, very interesting information. I also asked sleipnir personally how to do some things and made sure I wasnt breaking my actual cartridge
Tbh even this is only surface level when it comes to what current Emerald ACE allows. Instead of reseting for a frame you could have frozen the game at said frame and then all of your encounters would have been shiny 6 IV. You could also have straight up generated a pokemon with all the data you want, like using pkhex but with only the game itself You could also run a code to enable walk through wall Hell, i personally wrote a code that "heals" bad eggs, turning them back into valid pokemon Advanced Emerald ACE setups are insane
I actually had a whole section where I talked about how it could just edit any Pokemon's data piece-by-piece and achieve the same result. But that amounts to the gameplay equivalent of Pokemon teaches typing. As for the RNG freeze, I choose not to use it, because it skips the fun part. I like hitting the button!
@@ekwensu8797 Check out the glitch city research institute server Most of the setups are made with people who don't know anything about programming in mind, so you shouldn't need any knowledge in that regard
Thank you! I’m trying to do catch ‘em all for all groups of titles and this expanded it a little more :) it’ll be exciting to see them all in bank/ switch titles
However, after completing Emeralds events my 0x611 seems to not want to do anymore codes and constantly freezes upon activation of Silphner’s codes.. This has happened before but I had to make a new glitch-mon
I think this stuff is super fascinating, I think of code execution like those rumors on how to get legendary pokemon by doing all those silly steps as a kid but they actually work! I don’t think I trust myself to try it though I’d definitely brick my cartridge lmao
You can't brick your cartridge doing this. Even if you do corrupt some part of your save you didn't mean to (which is fully preventable by just not corrupting longer than you need to during pomeg corruption, and just not saving if ACE didn't do what you wanted it to do) it's easy enough to fix
As the biggest layman when it comes to this programming gibberish, I pulled it off just fine. Go SLOW, triple-check your work, and be sure to save before executing ANYTHING, no matter how excited you get about it all. This goes double when doing the cloning glitch lol, trust me I know.
Im using the change PRNG box code to shiny hunt with sweet scent and the code runs, but the pokemon that I'm catching arent showing up as spreads in pokefinder and I cant figure out whats going wrong
The title alone has me so excited to watch! Just welcomed in to your channel, thank you for the hard work put into this! Can’t wait to see how it changes the future of Pokémon 😍
No EVs required. You should use the one with no EVs, but I think in the video I used the trained one, and it still worked. The code does the species change, so no need to worry about different corruption types.
I was like, ooh, cool video. Went to casually listen to it while at work and was so lost. Will prob have to rewatch to really understand what was even happening, but this is really sick.
Great video, appreciate all the effort you put into your videos! I did have a question: At the 15:34 mark when you're viewing the glitch mon that replaces Dots, I keep getting a bad egg. I've triple checked but I'm not sure where the error could be. Is the bad egg still viable (doubt it tho) or does it need to be that question mark sprite in the PC? I'd appreciate any help :)
@@PapaJefeYT I figured it out, I didn't realize my box 1 had a special wallpaper. Complete oversight as you literally had in your video not to 🤦♂ Got it working and tested with Birth Island aurora ticket, gg 😎 thanks again!
@@PapaJefeYT Hello, I am having the same problem as this person except I have never changed my wallpaper. My code is right, my DOTS are clean, my egg is the nest ball pokerus close to hatching DOTS egg that is seen in the video. I know the egg is right because I ran the aurora ticket code the way you did in your original video and it worked. I just cant seem to generate the stable decamark like you did. I have tried both EV trained DOTS and not, I get the same bad egg each time.
Tbh, as someone who LOVES everything related to coding and glitches, it makes me sad how people just say "why not use a gameshark", like, man, it's not the same One thing is using external tools to achieve what you want, and other thing is getting stuff inside the game without using gamesharks n cheating, come on, glitches are just way more beautiful, they are just art to me ♡
i agree its impressive but you gotta understand that from a casual players point of view who doesnt understand any of this they wont spend hours to research and do this they will just boot up the game in an emulator pkhex in any mon they want and play nobody gonna bother with all this, the only people who will do this are those who are legit interested in executing code in games through strange means like here using the boxes and pokemon EV data
Important note for Spanish Emerald: Any screen that *doesn't* show your ace pokemon's type will be safe, since that's what's crashing the game So it doesnt matter whether it's the moves or contest moves window, either will work
Thank you so much! Thanks to this video and to the help you gave me on Discord I've manager to sucessfully find Shiny Mew and Shiny Deoxys. Keep It up with your Amazing work and with the help and information you give to the Pokemon comunity!
Just glancing over the fact that you're supposed to keep the bootstrap bad egg and *NOT* release it like any other bad egg is a pretty big oversight...
i have seen this as a common issue. i'll add it to the pinned. Really it never occurred to me you'd want to release it, since we'd just gone out of our way to create it.
Sorry for the sassy tone. I was just a little annoyed I had to do quite a bit of work again lol It makes sense why you wouldn't delete it when I think back, but what confused me was the fact that there wasn't any clear distinction between this bad egg, and any bad eggs we might've produced in the step where we tried to generate a good egg (other than "you need this for a near-future step, put it in box 14"). So I just saw it after everything was fully setup, thought "hey, a bad egg, let me delete that" and naturally deleted it. I think a little note in the video saying something like "remember to keep this bad egg safe, as it will be needed for any future ACE code executions" would've made a world of difference. Otherwise an expectional video! Thanks for the quick comment btw ^^
"Dont get a gameshark its to expensive" "Back up your save data for a measley 50 bucks"... "Dont save until the whole process is done" "Save to clone your pokemon"..? Boy how about sticking with one statement?
Sorry lmao, when I said "don't save until you verify you've done things correctly" I meant like "at each step of the process, when I ask you to save, make sure nothing is broken first". Just trying to cover my ass, cuz I KNOW someone is bricking their save.

At least I learned one thing. The fact that I've been playing pokemon games for 16 years and only just now found out that there has always been a multiselect feature in the PC
Just completed this and was able to do the Deoxys event. I've wanted to do the gen 3 events on console since I was a little kid. this is really a dream come true. Thank you Jefe and everyone involved for making this possible
This is really confusing and convoluted, but also really cool! I have NO idea Gen 3 had so many glitchmons, I thought that was juSt a gen 1 and kinda gen 2 thing. I gotta learn more about these guys.
Seedot... one of the least known, but most common pokemon to encounter... only caught for the pokedex... finally became what can be described as a god that uses technology beyond the game... Congrats Seedot... you've evolved into ACEedot.
i just subscribed to u~! the knowledge and effort you put into this is amazing. thank you so much for expanding so much on my favorite thing of my childhood.
The combination of ACE to advance frames + the RNG abuse to get a perfect IV shiny Torchic & Deoxys with a specific nature and hidden power with ice type is so absolutely absurd and bonkers. I can fully see why it took 20 years to figure this all out.
The instant "Arbitrary" was spoken the first time, I knew it would get a bit wild, but the scope of the silliness (both in terms of what you can do, and in terms of how you set it up, as I've never done glitches on the GBA before let alone this particular game) surprised me.
Thanks Jefe, after two days i could catch a shiny latios with perfect ivs in southern island, it was a pain getting the correct egg, also had troubles when setting the seed with ace on emulator (mGBA) it didnt show the diploma, then i tried in my gba sp and it worked, i have a spanish copy of emerald, thanks again it was fun to learn everthing!
Was the DOTS next to the x(male sign)etc pokemon supposed to have EVs or not? I managed to get a level 63 corrupted Dots but unfortunately it always results in a semi-black screen when I look at its summary, though I can see that it has the matching summary screen as to what you have in the video. I recleared all of the box data, I checked and have reimput the code three times now, and it kinda seems like somethings wrong with my executor. Also I have the bad egg (formerly x(male sign)ect) in box 14 slot 1. Did anyone else have this issue and manage a fix?

Also, perfect timing, just finished emerald and I’ve been looking forward to using ACE! Your last guide was great and I assume this’ll be even better!
I wonder how the hell they discover them
I love how a glitchthat was being used as a sudo creepy pasta i hear about as a little kid comes back years later to turn out to be the most game breaking glitch pokemon has probably ever seen.
The ARM/Thumb difference is whether the jump addresses' last bit is set or not. ARMv4T addresses are 2-aligned, so the last bit never makes a difference, and is used by the BX opcode to decide the resulting execution mode.
Seeing that there’s a new, faster method for this is crazy! I’ve been using the old method that you outlined in your original video for months now lol
oh shiii congrats on 50k dude!
this is just so amazing. ive not played the games in YEARS but this really makes me want to pick it up again and go hunting for competitive pokemon for scarlet and violet
I just finished getting Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, Deoxys, Ho-oh, and Lugia using your previous video on these glitches. Funny that you just posted an updated process afterward. I find this stuff facinating!
Incredibly easy to follow and hilarious edits, the ghost piloswine and dial-up egg hatching got me good
I loved your first video on this topic and I love this one too.
Y'know, using your ACE setup to create the perfect pokemon for further ACE has a pretty strong "wishing for infinite wishes" vibe.
These videos are always cash. Absolutely love it. Keep up the awesome work Papa!!!
he speaks the truth!
I love that the new methods open up encounters in the Safari Zone! I don't have Colosseum, but I'd always wanted to try getting a shiny Heracross in Emerald with great stats to take all the way through collecting ribbons in each game! This makes that possible for me now :D
How do you do to get any pokemon like that? I mean in safari zone or the codes are in any of the lists?
Great video Jeff! stuff slaps
So generous! Thank you
Less than 40 seconds in and this has already gotten me totally hooked.
things escalate quickly 😅
@@PapaJefeYT They did! Excellent video, I gotta try this at some point so I can get the Deoxys I missed out on in a more legitimate manner lol. Hope to see more soon!
By FAR, my favorite glitch in any game ever. ACE is so wildly interesting, I never get tired of it. I wish there were more videos about exploring it on Emerald. Great video.
great job! this sort of stuff is always so interesting to me
and just a heads up, the 4 squares in the top left of the cartridge is no longer a reliable verification method, some fakes have started including it
Amazing video as always!
There is still a wiki and a discord though!
drive.google.com/file/d/154CYsssd88A5lH_P2z1a-q35oHRgDPTO/view This was something I worked on, specifically for English Emerald
i watched this entire video and i'm confused af
Absolutely love the nge reference for the thumbnail, great video too
I love these videos. It makes me want to dig out my GBA and copy of emerald and see what i can do. Thanks for the inspiration
Fun fact: while running around to hatch my dots egg, I encountered a full odds shiny poochyena
Omg I feel silly, I didn’t know you could mass move Pokémon in the boxes
this is EXACTLY why I include things like this.
another banger vid from papa jefe thanks buddy
Stuff like this reminds me why I love humanity sometimes. This is unbelievable and SO COOL!
I love your editting, by the way. The cute little dialogue boxes are adorable lol
thank you! feels good its being appreciated, it was ALOT of work 😊
you don't need to leave empty slots in your party while cloning, you can clone 5 pokemon at a time
been watching this topic for updates, very interesting information.
You could also have straight up generated a pokemon with all the data you want, like using pkhex but with only the game itself
You could also run a code to enable walk through wall
Hell, i personally wrote a code that "heals" bad eggs, turning them back into valid pokemon
Advanced Emerald ACE setups are insane
I actually had a whole section where I talked about how it could just edit any Pokemon's data piece-by-piece and achieve the same result.
But that amounts to the gameplay equivalent of Pokemon teaches typing.
As for the RNG freeze, I choose not to use it, because it skips the fun part. I like hitting the button!
@@PapaJefeYT Yeah i guess that's fair
@@PapaJefeYT Some iv spreads are impossible in these games though so the change iv code is still useful.
@@tabbender1232 Where can I learn about this expanded stuff?
Also, how much programming should I know?
@@ekwensu8797 Check out the glitch city research institute server
Most of the setups are made with people who don't know anything about programming in mind, so you shouldn't need any knowledge in that regard
Well my brain is fully melted thanks
The fact you keep pointing out GS or AR proofs that youre godly dedicated for this.
We've come a long way from using strength on a truck. This is genuinely impressive work.
15:24 one question, does this clone have to be the EV trained one or the original 0 EV one? or is it irrelevant?
No EVs required. You should use the one with no EVs, but I think in the video I used the trained one, and it still worked.
The code does the species change, so no need to worry about different corruption types.
I was like, ooh, cool video. Went to casually listen to it while at work and was so lost. Will prob have to rewatch to really understand what was even happening, but this is really sick.
i love the new eva thumbnail, its funny to imagine brendan starting the third impact due to ace lol
So cool there are still discoveries with the rng community. Great vid!
If you get bad egg something is indeed wrong. Either a code typo, or it's not a clean DOTS
@@PapaJefeYT I figured it out, I didn't realize my box 1 had a special wallpaper. Complete oversight as you literally had in your video not to 🤦♂ Got it working and tested with Birth Island aurora ticket, gg 😎 thanks again!
@@Niculous ahhh yes the WALLPAPERS. Always forget them
@@PapaJefeYT Hello, I am having the same problem as this person except I have never changed my wallpaper. My code is right, my DOTS are clean, my egg is the nest ball pokerus close to hatching DOTS egg that is seen in the video. I know the egg is right because I ran the aurora ticket code the way you did in your original video and it worked. I just cant seem to generate the stable decamark like you did. I have tried both EV trained DOTS and not, I get the same bad egg each time.
what hardware are you playing on? I had someone on Analog Pocket with this issue, and it worked on mGBA and actual GBA
It's always a good day when Papa Jefé drops a new video
Very informative and fun as always, keep it up
Tbh, as someone who LOVES everything related to coding and glitches, it makes me sad how people just say "why not use a gameshark", like, man, it's not the same
One thing is using external tools to achieve what you want, and other thing is getting stuff inside the game without using gamesharks n cheating, come on, glitches are just way more beautiful, they are just art to me ♡
i agree its impressive but you gotta understand that from a casual players point of view who doesnt understand any of this they wont spend hours to research and do this they will just boot up the game in an emulator pkhex in any mon they want and play nobody gonna bother with all this, the only people who will do this are those who are legit interested in executing code in games through strange means like here using the boxes and pokemon EV data
The sheer number of unique custom programs for specific things is a testament to the Pokemon community and it's dedication.
its great to see you're back dude. i was rewatching your zigzagoon video just now, so this is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
The editing was so entertaining and funny to watch, loved this amazing effort on the video keep it up big bro
Dude I love Arbitrary Code Execution glitches so much. Like how the hell does anyone figure out you can do that
Bro as always, love it 👏🏼 ✨
The seedot sprite with the arms is 🔥 💪🏼🌰
A faster execution method AND i dont have to bother cloning eggs? Sign me up!
This is amazing makes things so much easier you're the GOAT as always thanks man 😁
Can anyone help me My egg just hatches normally
Love your videos. As others have said, seeing videos for an old game that meant so much to many of us is beautiful.
Important note for Spanish Emerald: Any screen that *doesn't* show your ace pokemon's type will be safe, since that's what's crashing the game
So it doesnt matter whether it's the moves or contest moves window, either will work
good to know!
I was just a little annoyed I had to do quite a bit of work again lol
It makes sense why you wouldn't delete it when I think back, but what confused me was the fact that there wasn't any clear distinction between this bad egg, and any bad eggs we might've produced in the step where we tried to generate a good egg (other than "you need this for a near-future step, put it in box 14").
Thanks for the quick comment btw ^^
it worked !!!!!! i also your vod helped alot i did in jp version!
"Dont get a gameshark its to expensive"
"Back up your save data for a measley 50 bucks"...
"Dont save until the whole process is done"
"Save to clone your pokemon"..?
Boy how about sticking with one statement?
The editing itself is bomb tho, the commentery is funny af & the information is very thorough. The video itself is very good.
Sorry lmao, when I said "don't save until you verify you've done things correctly" I meant like "at each step of the process, when I ask you to save, make sure nothing is broken first".
Just trying to cover my ass, cuz I KNOW someone is bricking their save.
@@PapaJefeYT dw amazing video nevertheless
started rng manps this past summer by follow yours and im a blisys tutorial! i truly appreciate the hard work and how well your video editing has improved!!
mr jef
At least I learned one thing.
The fact that I've been playing pokemon games for 16 years and only just now found out that there has always been a multiselect feature in the PC
I love how much research goes into these type of things.
Dude your videos are always top tier, you are gonna blow up one of these days
This is insane. Great video as always. Cheers!
Great video Jefe! Next time I'm gonna try this method to shiny hunt the competitive legendaries I'm missing
Just completed this and was able to do the Deoxys event. I've wanted to do the gen 3 events on console since I was a little kid. this is really a dream come true. Thank you Jefe and everyone involved for making this possible
This is so awesome! Thanks for making this cool guide :)
This is really confusing and convoluted, but also really cool! I have NO idea Gen 3 had so many glitchmons, I thought that was juSt a gen 1 and kinda gen 2 thing. I gotta learn more about these guys.
Used this video to nab a Shiny Southern Island Latias! Thank you! It's from a legitimate record mix from a Sapphire copy that had an Eon Ticket, too!
Seedot... one of the least known, but most common pokemon to encounter... only caught for the pokedex... finally became what can be described as a god that uses technology beyond the game...
Congrats Seedot... you've evolved into ACEedot.
i just subscribed to u~! the knowledge and effort you put into this is amazing. thank you so much for expanding so much on my favorite thing of my childhood.
Yo i just got into pokemon rng and ur videos are the frickin best
The combination of ACE to advance frames + the RNG abuse to get a perfect IV shiny Torchic & Deoxys with a specific nature and hidden power with ice type is so absolutely absurd and bonkers. I can fully see why it took 20 years to figure this all out.
The instant "Arbitrary" was spoken the first time, I knew it would get a bit wild, but the scope of the silliness (both in terms of what you can do, and in terms of how you set it up, as I've never done glitches on the GBA before let alone this particular game) surprised me.
Great video Papa Jefe, I want to try these new stuff!!
After reading some replies I used one with EVs. Ill have to try again without. I'll get back to you guys.
In case anyone cares it redid the ace set-up with the no EVs dots in box 10 and the end result works this time. Thanks once again Papa.
This is interesting, and while I don’t have the time and patience to try this with my copies of emerald, it is good to know it exists
Imagine being back in 2003 and having this knowledge, you would be the coolest kid ever!
This is absolutely insane and i love it, keep bringing us this content! Long live gen 3! ❤
I’ve been looking forward to your new uploads ❤
I have been trying to get every Pokemon in platinum and this will really help
