    • @PapaP86
      @PapaP86 5 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      It's just pointless. I'd rather have a number of 4 cylinder turbo cars like the Focus ST, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Veloster N, WRX, etc. If you're going to have a muscle car, anything except a VW is just like, "why?" Smaller, lighter cars with a 4 cylinder are more fun as well as more practical. If you're going to get something impractical, go all the way at least.

    I knew for me the 2017 Ecoboost premium was the best option. I appreciate the looks and miles per gallon --- 20 mpg combined and 34 to 36 highway. I've driven three adults for short trips. It's a great daily driver and is very comfortable on road trips. I like the toggle strips. The trunk is spacious and folding down the rear seats makes it great for the occasional need to to haul longer items. Thanks for the review

    Hey, after watching your review and talking to you a bit in the comment section I ended up getting a 2015 mustang Gt premium. The review is spot on, but aside from all of its flaws, I love it. I've wanted one since I was a sophomore in high school and now I finally own one. The car has horrible panel gaps, interior rattles, but other than that, it's great. No the interior isn't of the highest quality but for 32k I can't complain. It's a great car to drive.

    MAP makes a stellar replacement intercooler. It's what I have on my 2016, factory precision mounting. Easy install. and temps are very low now. Mishi makes an easy catch can kit that takes like 15 mins to install. Those are the only improvements on mine and I average 27 mpg as my daily driver. The GT model is awesome, but for a daily, I chose to save 8k and fuel.

      Midwest Mopars My C5 Corvettes would easily get 30 mpg highway. I modded my 99’ frc to ~400 hp, and regularly got 38-40 mpg highway. With the 3.42 rear end and the T-56 Tremecs tall gearing (4th, 5th, and 6th were ALL overdrives. 4th was 1:1), I was revving barely 1,000 at 70 and with maybe 1/8 throttle. Sounds unbelievable, but true. Big V-8’s fuel mileage with tall gearing can shock you.

    Great review. I rented the ecoboost on a recent vacation. You absolutely nailed it on the steering feel. It's the big let down of the Mustang. For luxury this is a great car for the money. It's heavy and front heavy. Not to be confused with a sports car no matter how fast they make them or what they can do on a track. I appreciate what you're saying about the GT being too fast to enjoy on the fast. I think with where horsepower is going the qualities that will be important are connection and feeling fast. On that note looking forward to the review of the MX-5.
    Nice touch with he shots of Arlington and the Stones cover. I hope viewers get it.

    Great reviews, man. Keep up the good work. I love the discussions of the suspension while underneath the car. Almost nobody else does that.
    Now as for your criticism of the GT's handling: If you have a 400+ hp V8, you can't go into a corner off throttle in the rain then stab the throttle mid-corner. Even the most controlled cars will yaw violently under those conditions. In other words, your statement that you have no confidence in the GT's handling would apply to any other high-horsepower, rear-drive car.

    I'm a euro guy but truthfully the quality of production in this review took me from not giving a four fingered fuck about the mustang to wanting to buy one just to drive around listening to wild horses on loop.
    Well done.

    I think your traction issues in the GT are likely tire related. Mine was scary until I put really light wheels with Yoko Advan 255 front/275 rears on it. Totally different car. It originally had some shitty Pirelli pzeros on it and I felt like every drop of water on the road was going to spin me.

    I know the last comment is like a year old, but I have to say I enjoy your vids. You obviously put a lot of time and effort into these (with really professional results). Your subtle sarcasm cracks me up too, especially the bit about the Pontiac Sunfire. Nice touch with the ugly green color and rusted body panels.

    I thought I had buzzing in my dash. I was tapping on things for weeks to make it shut up.
    On one trip, the buzz came back, I listened real close.
    Clutch in and punch the throttle, shift back into 6th aggressively.
    The buzz never came back. Weird.
    It was something to do with the transmission.
    My car doesn't have any creaks, buzzes or rattles now

    Fantastic unbiased review brother! just So in depth that u blow away the other wanna be car reviewers..Heres the strange impression that came across from this review....it seemed as if you actuallt had more FUN driving that eco boost than u did driving the 8cyl.....you were able to get on it, use the power it had and actually drive faster than the truly terrified look you had trying to control that v8 putting its power down theu 2 skinny banana peels...of course it was wet, and if it were dry and at the track id bet u would always go with the v8...but what u showed was everyday driving and how each may do in that scenerio..the v8 was rreally an accident waiting to happen,especially in the hands of a teen...try telling a teen to go with an eco boost and good luck with that! great review

    GT Perf Pack does not have runflats. They give you an air compressor that can inject tire goo
    Also note that if you get the Premium model and then get recaros it deletes the heated/cooled and power seat features.

    That was an exceptional review. I loved the video/shots, humor and everything! I just got a new triple black GT convertible manual and I agree with your comments (especially the steering modes/feel, comfort is the best). The thing is a bit of a land yacht, yes, but the ride quality is buttery smooth, it's a great GT car. Coming from a 2014 Boxster, the GT can't really corner that well, but how often can you really get to do that? I'll take the V-8 burble/punch and glass-like ride!

    Clearly Scott has great taste in cars (MOPAR) and is just being nice to those other cars. Obviously a Hemi with a blower (the Hellcat) is the only real muscle car out there. Sometimes the truth hurts and thats just the way it is. Its nice to meet like wise people, its refreshing :)

    Very good review! I do want to note that with the center console, the release/open-latch is on both sides. I reach across to the far side next to the passenger seat, palm down, and pluck up to open it - it's not awkward at all. If I tried to open it with the closest latch on the driver side, that would indeed be super awkward. I know you had a limited time with the car(s) so I suppose you didn't realize that the latch was on both sides haha.
    I have the all-season pirelli p. zero neros on my '16 GT and even with the all season tires it's terrible in wet when punching it even mildly from a stop. Very annoying as the all seasons on my '13 GT were 100% fine. I'm considering getting different tires and I barely have 2300 miles since getting it in October, and I certainly don't ride it hard either.

    Another great review. I actually stumbled onto your channel when I was car hunting about 6 months ago. The first review I watched from you was the Chevy Colorado. Funny thing about it all is I ended up going with the 15' Mustang, and ever since then I was hoping you'd review this car. The biggest part I stress to people is the affordability; the price of this car, from the base V6 all the way up to a loaded GT makes it affordable for just about anyone (like you said) with a job. The value is there. Keep up the awesome reviews!

    Somebody please correct me but the story I got was that this is a Mazda design (invention) and that Ford (who has a share in Mazda) stole it!
    For all you Miata swap fans: here's your huckleberry! The 5.0 GT couldn't keep up with a Miata in the wet. This is a thorough review that reminds me why I chose the BMW 330cic over the "faster, more powerful Mustang ( which I still wanna like ).

    Great detailed review of both the Ecoboost and GT which gave an excellent comparison of both cars helping me decide which one I would like to buy. It was interesting to see that while driving the GT, you were following a Red Miata convertible which is what I own now and what I'll be trading in for the Mustang. I do have one question regarding your review of the GT however. Why in the world would you want to test drive a 5.0 on wet roads? Of course it's going to get rear end happy on wet road conditions especially if you're running fun-flats and traction control is off. I think you scared the crap out of some would-be GT buyers watching you fight the wheel during acceleration and did a general disservice to an otherwise great handling car as defined by most reputable auto reviewers.

    • @christopherhaynes8633
      @christopherhaynes8633 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. I have a 2015 5.0 6 speed and the handling in the wet is pretty accurate but doing the review in the wet doesn't really depict its overall handling. In the dry even on Michelin all seasons first gear can grab traction at WOT and it's very controllable even on throttle around corners. In the rain though you need to be aware because it will go sideways even in 2nd or 3 with traction control on.
