Mine is a 2018. 95,000km and used as a work car. It has more rattles than a Kellyville creche but as a package there's nothing else that comes close for the money.
On its second set of tyres, original brakes, poor panel fit but what a mega car. Anyone who slags one has never driven one onto a crowd of pedestrians and felt that surge of self satisfaction 😁

I have a 2015, the first year of the S550.
107k miles (I’m American) on the 5.0 and 6R80 (bad knee from accident)
None of the issues listed with have happened to me, I just change the oil at the right time and don’t do stupid shit to the car. The only 2 things I have to address are the sagging roof liner on the drivers side and the seat is tearing a little as I keep my keys for work on my belt.
Average MPG is 19mpg and gets great fuel mileage on the highway. It’s a Ford, the build quality isn’t great but it was 22k USD out the door used. I don’t have very bad panel gap or any interior rattles, and the ride is still smooth. The car has been great, it’s super smooth, pulls hard and is indeed obnoxious.

I brought a 2019 FN racing red convertible GT. It's my daily driver, have done 89k since buying it dealer used in March of 2020. I absolutely love this car, its well just fun to drive. The active exhaust, adaptive cruise control ( yes this car have travelled the Hume Sydney - Melbourne multiple times) and now lives in Queensland driven via inland route. Back seat is actually far more practical in the convertible where a roof down and head height issue doesn't exist also easier to get into and out of with the roof down. Not to mention storage space is very handy with a dropped roof and access into rear seats for quick airport pick-up and get aways. My FN - has been an excellent car one ill continue to own well for another few more years and you know - I might just buy another cos well V8s are heading the way of the dodo and I kinda just love the sound and playfulness of this car.

Another great review. I've got a 2016 GT with 14K on odometer. Had zero problems, apart from air compressor needed to be regassed and that was due to lack of use. I find it damped very well when it hits large bumps of speed humps, but on average roads it struggles to settle down. I also find it a challenge at times to grab the seat belt, should have a seat butler. Sync 2 has been reliable, but find it hard to read graphic display. This is all very minor feedback, but every time you get in car it puts a smile on your face.

You should run your air conditioning at least once a month for a few minutes to keep the rubber seals lubricated and stop them drying out. I’ve done this with every car I’ve ever owned and never had to get one regassed.

The issue with the MT-82 generally lies in the shift linkage (not being especially robust/rigid) and the underlying bracketing. The MT-82 has the shifter mounted directly to the chassis via the transmission tunnel. Under hard acceleration/rpm and load, the engine and transmission twist under the torque of the engine (this is normal to an extent on every car), however most manual transmissions (for high powered cars) mount the shifter and linkage directly to the transmission, not the chassis like the mustang's design. This means the transmission moves and twists, but the shifter and linkage doesn’t move with it since it’s bolted to the chassis directly.
This leads to an inconsistent shifter feel, grinding, high rpm lockout, and all those other things you hear about in the forums. Add the scenario of driver at a drag strip trying to shift aggressively and quickly to a shifter design that doesn’t like to be hurried and you have a recipe for complaints and issues. It's a shame Ford dont put the Tremec into the standard GT's!

Quality Video - Love the Outakes! So Im an Aussie living in the UK, when I was on the look out for a new car in 2019, I looked at the Mustang as I have the blue oval at heart! But after trying to get my then 9YO daughter in the back and noticing the build quality, I couldnt make the option stack.
Ended up in a 2019 M4 Competition which has so much of the Mustang Character, but more in every other way than engine note.
    keep the videos coming guys!

It seems so many fail to grasp or to acknowledge a Mustang GT is a Grand Tourer. The Mustang GT it has always been a Grand Tourer foremost and this is a key to it's popularity and longevity. Sure there are track capable versions the Mustang, but myself and many others drive them because they are Grand Touring vehicles. I have no belief nor aspiration I am a race car driver nor do I have an interest in lap times, I don't have an interest in 1/4 mile time. My interest is driving a stylish car that is comfortable, has some get up and go and my wife enjoys coming along, if need be I can fit someone in the back. Sure Mustang are quick, they are fast, they now handle pretty good, the point of a Grand Tourer is to comfortably tour and the Mustang GT excels at that role. GT is in the name for a reason. If track performance were all that matters GM wouldn't be discontinuing the Camaro for the second time.

Canada here. Great review with all the pros and cons covered. I test drove one in the winter snow and ice. I couldn't get out of a level dealership lot. The salesman went in and they told him not to take it out on the streets. I imagine with winter tires there would be some difference however I live in a River Valley in Edmonton. Anything off level or a day with a lot of snow. I am not sure you would be going anywhere. I looked at the Kia Stinger. Nice car and power. I was a little scared of the twin turbo causing reliability issues? It does have a long warranty though. I ended up buyjng an AWD, Lexus R Sport. V. different car. It depends on what you want. I dont enjoy putting on tire chains on a cold day? Snow, ice and hills don't get in the way off the Lexus.

Excellent review. One of the best really that I have seen on TH-cam. If I may, I would like to add one more thing that may have been overlooked and that is the paint quality. I own a 2017 ( bought it brand new) GT with the performance package in black and the paint is horrible. It is very thin and it chips so easily especially on the rear front quarter panels and the front hood. Unless you ppf the car, and that doesn't always work, you will need a touch up pen handy "all" the time. I have also spoken to other 2015-2022 mustang owners and they all complain of this including paint chipping, paint flaking, and paint pitting from the poor paint process at the factory. But in the end, these mustang are meant to be driven and driven hard and I look at those issues as war wounds and a badge of honour, and when the time is needed I will give it a paint refresh. The S550 is such an amazing car that Ford continued it through the S650 so that is telling. In the end it's a mustang thing and for those that own one, wow do we love it. Thank you for your video and to many more. Cheers.

I am on my third Mustang. One 2017, one auto 2018 and now a manual 2018 (Whipple supercharged). The 2017 had poor panel gaps but no other issues. The first 2018 was perfect and now the manual 2018 is perfect, apart from a weak manual. I’ve had it replaced once. But it is an issue even in naturally aspirated form. But there is aftermarket options to get around this. For the moment, granny shifting and throttle blipping is a must!

@@chrismarshall8381 Hi Chris, the 2018’s didn’t come with auto blip. From 2019 onwards they did. The gearbox is the weak point, not the clutch. From my research, the shift forks are the main weak point. However, granny shift (I.e. don’t flat change) and you can make it last.

@chrismarshall8381 I personally have had 2 mustang gt's a 2016 auto and 2021 manual. I know lots of other mustang owners. The mt-82 is bad if you are a bad driver. It's fine if you are a good one. But not great. I have one friend with 95k on his and he beats the day light out his car. But he can shift. I have another friend with 58k miles 712hp drives modesty and can shift very well. No issues. That's not to say issues don't exist, but just from my personal perspective, it honestly comes down to skill and how you treat them.

Pulled over, turned the car off, restarted & ok. Nonetheless going in for its service next month & notified Ford of the fault. Oh & no pedestrians were harmed during this glitch.🤭 Interestingly this morning whilst filling up the car, 2 young bucks, 18 or 19 year olds were drooling over it. With both the V8 & 4cly you must & I mean must change the oil every 8000-10,000k these are high performance sports cars & must be treated accordingly. Anything that has missed services or long intervals between oil changes run away for the hills.

Yes you buy one! I bought a new 2020 GT A10 with Magneride during the start of covid for 8k below retail in Australia. Like the video says , is it perfect? No. The transmission isnt as good as a twin clutch like a had in my Golf R but it is quick when you are letting it do its thing, its just no the same trying to drive it in 'manual mode' with the paddles. The V8 rumble makes up for all that and the Mustang looks great and gets peoples attention (sometimes unwanted attention) but it looks great regardless. It was my daily for 3 years without issues, now its my weekend toy and keeper long term. Just be careful with the Michelin PS4S tyres during winter and cold weather, take it easy! This car with its looks and V8 is awesome value for money, at least when I got mine. I see the new model is around 90K AUD for very similar performance but with a lot more screens inside......
