@@senhowler Doom's first efforts to make it into Mephisto's realm involved technologically assisted projection. The calculations were off at a crucial point by a decimal point. This got Doom's face fried and his ass slung out of college. He had to earn his doctorates (and he does have them, you know) after learning mysticism and constructing his armor.

They were talking about Mephisto. Latvaria genuinely adores Doom. Several comics have explored how he's actually a fantastic leader who loves his people and gives them great lives. Fun fact: Doom believes himself to be the true savior of humanity and has saved the world many times. He once went though a spiritual trial and was judged to be pure of heart, and worthy of being the champion of earth.

Id like to add that Dr. Doom went under the Kingdom of Wakanda to meet with the Panther God. Said god had looked thru every conceivable future and the only one it had seen where the world was at peace, was under the leadership of Victor Von Doom
Yo, that particular issue was awesome. The speech he gave to the panther god was one of the most epic speeches a super villain could give to justify his actions to a freaking god. Crazy as all hell.

Ok, Fighting Mephisto is cool, but what about when he challenged a multiversal-level reality warper, got bodied, thrown into prehistory, had his heart turned to stone and his blood to acid, survived until he got back to the current era, became the apprentice of that same reality warper that almost killed him while growing stronger that whole time, and then betrayed him at a crucial moment to help save the day?
For Doom, that's Tuesday.
That was one of the most satisfying plot twists ever.

I was sad he didn't mention how Doom was judged by a god to be pure of heart and the champion of humanity. But tbh... Doom has just too impressive of a history to keep up with or summarize.

About True Cross armor: I think i should point out that Dracula is a very real thread in MU. We actually learnt about that fact when Doom met Dracula on the dark side of the Moon. Dracula was shooting vampires at Britain from his moon castle.

Dr. Doom is one of the most badass characters in comic history.
Look up the Marquis of Death story and it will add that much more badassery to the Dr Doom mythos. It's kind of a batshit crazy story that's pretty fun.
But it kills me to see how bad he was in the movies
@@joshlockyear1448 to be fair the first 2 fantastic four movies were done before the MCU was a thing and the latest was done in order to keep the movie right so they don't revert back to Marvel ( same reason why they made so many Spider-man movies). If a movie was made with in the MCU Kevin Feige would do Dr Doom justice but no one wants to share.
One thing that many love about Doom is... He's essentially a member of the Fantastic Four family through his goddaughter, Valeria Richards. Her history is a bit complicated, so i'll keep it short, when Susan was pregnant with her, she was having complications like with her first pregnancy with Franklin, do to the cosmic radiation that gave them their powers. So Reed had a world saving mission to solve, he couldn't get to Susan, so Johnny turned to Doom, and he used his science and magic to save both Susan and the newborn, by delivering the baby! Now since Reed was indebted to Doom, he asked for a few things: He name her, and he becomes her Godfather just to rub it in Reed's face lol
Also, every time he interacts with the now teen-aged Valeria, he treats her as his own favorite, spoiled child, and it's great! lol

@@TangledLion Then, the best choice would be Emperor God Doom. I don't think Doom merely would be the level of Thanos. I seriously believe a lot of character development can be done on Doom. He is villainous but he loves the people of his nation. I wish they could make one solo movie on Doom where they portray him as an anti-hero and later make him Emperor God Doom. Since Thanos is dead, he really could be a major villain like you said.

Dr. Doom once defeated a character called the Marquis of Death. After getting sent back in time by the Marquis of death, he just straight up waited as the Marquis of deaths advisor and killed him. And Doom got sent back about 10,000 years in the past.

My favorite fact about Dr Doom is sometimes when someone decides to destroy the earth Doom helps out the heroes. Because he can't rule the Earth if it's a pile of rubble.
Also I'm always amazed at how a genius like Reed never can articulate what The Thing's real problem is: his power doesn't have an off switch. Reed's always talking about turning Ben back to human for good. But it's just a "can't turn it off" problem. Imagine if it was the Human Torch who couldn't turn his power off? Just stuck on fire permanently, unable to love a woman or work on a hot rod. Or if Reed always was stretched out and floppy, and couldn't pull himself together enough to look normal? Or if invisible woman was simply invisible at all times? Ben doesn't need to be turned human, he just needs to be able to turn it off or back on again at the drop of a hat.
Iirc Ben has been cured and/or given control of his powers before like that, but writers and editors never want the characters to change for very long so it's always reverted back, currently with him actually preferring to live like that. I could be wrong but I believe in at least one story it was Doom who did it, too.
Funny enough, more recently Doom made it so Johnny's fire WAS on 24/7, and at uncontrollable levels, out of spite for something he did(someone, actually lol). Reed keeps promising to help him and find a way to turn it off but is basically to busy to bother. Eventually the writers ran out of time to wrap their shit up and it was hurriedly fixed off "screen" by an alien race that they knew(they knew more cosmic science than him, it's a whole thing). This was all in the most recent(but not current) run of FF, and fixed right near the end. Like Doom did it in, I wanna say, #35 and Johnny was fixed MONTHS later(our time) in like #46.

There’s a recent comic where Doom has the infinity gauntlet, Thanos comes to collect it and Doom kills him without using the gauntlet, by means of punching his head off (If memory serves)

He didn't have the gauntlet, he had the power of the beyonders, and he grabbed Thanos' spine and ripped it out which turned him to dust.

Fun fact, when I was a kid (about 4 or 5) and went to Universal on a family vacation, I was afraid to stand by characters like Wolverine and Spiderman, but I happily stood by Dr. Doom for a photo.
Y'all missed where doom got sent in the past so he stayed there and waited millions of years until the very moment he got sent back just to beat whoever it was that sent him there.
So what I got from this is that Doctor Doom:
-Must fight the devil regularly
-Has a fear of vampires
-Thought that becoming a god was beneath him.

Ok but imagine this...nicholas Cage as dr.Doom on his chair "they may not know me...*doom gets up grabbing his mask putting it on he turns to the camera zooming in on his eye* BUT THEY WILL KNOW DOOM!"(read this like batman in the arkham origins cutscene where he has his fight with alfred) An over the top actor for an over the top character
Nicolas cage could definitely capture the energy of DOOM and add some expressionist flare as he likes to do but imagine if he did it with the southern accent form con air, and since he can do very expressive eye gestures the mask would be perfect for him where you could just see his eyes reacting to what he's doing.

The thing that's always made Dr Doom cool in my eyes, is that he's basically Marvel's Darth Vader, and everyone loves Darth Vader,
At one point doom had two infinity gauntlets, he had one on each hand after he defeated the celestials who had attacked the council of Reeds.
He used those to create a multiversal religion around him, calling himself Rabum Alal, the great destroyer. He used this religion to save the multiverse and kill the beyonders. So cool

The reason why he got kicked out of college was he blew up the science lab .

Someone has to edit in the story of Doctor Doom was thrown into the past by Marquis of Death. Doctor Doom not only survived, but trained for millions of years to get his revenge as the Marquis of Death's apprentice. lol
My favorite quote is “there will be ponies in a world of doom”
There's a HUGE character evolution bomb waiting to go off on Captain America. Something many people either don't know or don't think about regarding his power set is that the super-soldier serum didn't just make Steve faster and stronger. It also enhanced his brain to the point that it's essentially an organic supercomputer. He has a photographic memory and the ability to think hundreds of times faster than a normal human. This is the secret to why his shield always returns to him after he throws it. In the moment he throws his shield, he performs dozens of complex calculations to determine how to throw it (angle, spin, speed, etc.) to get it to bounce off of everything in the room (including moving objects) and return to his hand at the end.
So, how does this make a character evolution bomb? Well, with Steve's brainpower, he could literally walk into a physics library and learn EVERYTHING in an afternoon if he wanted to. Give him a week to study all the latest trends in science and engineering and he would have Tony Stark level skills. Give him two weeks and access to a few advanced alien artifacts (which he DOES have access to) and he'll be the galaxy's most advanced engineer.
ALSO, as we learn from reading Dr. Strange, magic isn't necessarily an inborn ability. It can be LEARNED as a skill. Give Steve access to the Sanctum Sanctorum and a couple of weeks studying under Dr. Strange, and Steve will be the new Sorcerer Supreme!
Now we're talking about a person with Super Soldier stats with gear BEYOND Stark Tech and wielding BEYOND Dr. Strange levels of magical power. He would be the good-guy equivalent of Dr. Doom, but so much more powerful than Doom that Doom would look like a lad playing with his first magic trick kit. He would be a Universal Threat level character on par with the Celestials and the Cosmic Beings.
You did make one mistake though. DOOM is a good guy. Its just that nobody seems to agree with him on that point despite the real proof he has at his disposal.

There is one fact that is Doctor Doom related that I know which I find to be hilarious. Even though he is as you spend almost 20 minutes saying nearly unstoppable. Squirrel girl out of all heroes has managed to canonically defeat him in one on one combat.

The Beyonder is unrelated to The Beyonders. It's just a naming coincidence. The Beyonder was a immature cosmic cube according to the retcon. Before the retcon he was just a universe 1 million times more powerful than the marvel universe. On the other hand The Beyonders are called that because they come from outside the universe ("beyond"). They're the lifeforms that inhabit the next level up from "the entire universe". Supposedly they're more powerful than the cosmic cubes, although they can't just wipe the multiverse away with a sweep of a hand. They had to manually plant "bombs" (Molecule Man, every alternate reality version of him collectively) to destroy the multiverse. That gave Dr Doom time enough to make his own Molecule Man clones and challenge The Beyonders with a weapon that could actually kill them. But he killed them a second too late and the multiverse was destroyed, leaving Doom to create one last planet out of the few shards of realities he was able to find in the aftermath (every country is from a different famous alternate reality).
You know, technically, Doom is qualified enough to have a Doctorate in every degree.

Nicely done guys. Just an update on that Deadpool Rivalry: The last time Deadpool actually beat him in a fight was in 2007. They've fought in 2010 (BattleScars) 2017 (Deadpool vs Punisher) and in 2018 (Despicable Deadpool) and Deadpool lost each time. in 2017, the comics even addressed the whole - too random, too unpredictable thing, all Taskmaster did was ignore it, and he proceeded to wipe Deadpool into the floor.
