The Ray Stevenson movie got the look right, and the Thomas Jane movie got the professional soldier part right. Even though I think Bernthal is the best, his anger is wrong, it's ''hot'' instead of ''cold''. So the best Punisher looks like Stevenson, and his personality is a 50/50 mix of Bernthal and Thomas Jane.
My favourite comic with the Punisher is probably the one where Captain America sends all the Avengers after Frank. He manages to evade most of them and then Thor just wrecks his shit in about 5 seconds, has a beer and tells Frank he'll just say he managed to slip away from him and lets him go.
Because Thor is from a more brutal and understands that individuals like Castle have to exist on some level to keep the system from building up too much corruption and inefficiency.
Sometimes in the comics and animated movies (like Avengers Confidential: Punisher and Black Widow) they treat him like Batman where he's human but they write both like they're Captain America lol. Although in Avengers Confidential they made him super fast, but it kind of worked?
Carl would probably lose it knowing that in his short series, Cosmic Frank had to penance stare/eat pirates to get body parts back. Especially noting how the captain took even longer to immolate/kill because she was tough as nails.
It says he doesn't drink alcohol? But I've seen many iterations where he's drinking alcohol. I think almost every live action version that they have of him, has at least one scene where he's drinking.
Frank getting Heavenly powers is the Marvel Knights storyline where Frank was killed before he was supposed to and Heaven itself gave him a second chance to be an angelic spirit of justice basically. He goes way overboard and Heaven tells him to not be crazy and they make him mortal again.
The comic that comes to mind when you mention what happened in the Old Man Frank comics ("always one bullet left") is the Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe one-off. I don't know if it also happened in the Old Man Frank comics, as I haven't gotten the chance to read those yet, but I know it happens in the PKTMU one. He was on a war path to avenge his family after they were killed in a conflict between superheroes, and he went after every single hero/enhanced individual out there. The last one on his list was Daredevil, who removed his mask while he was dying to reveal that he was Frank's best friend, Matt Murdock, the one man who still believed in him. As Matt laid there, dying, he told Castle that "there is always someone behind the mask," and that "you killed us all, Frank," and Frank responds with something to the tune of "no, there's one target left," and turned his gun on himself. So, even if it did happen in the Old Man Frank comics, that just proves that it's not just a one-off action that was caused by the situation he was in. It's a recurring thing with him. Even in the NMCU shows, especially Daredevil s2, they touch upon that aspect of his character. I honestly don't know where I'm going with this, It was just a connection I thought of. It's interesting to learn about these little details that have stuck around in his characterization over the years, and to see the way they have developed and been shown throughout the years.
My fave Punisher story is the "What if??? Punisher kills the marvel universe" wherein he kills all of marvels superheroes, to punish them for their wanton destruction that has ended the lives of so many innocent bystanders.
The Punisher is actually based off of another fictional character named Mack Bolan "The Executioner". Great series of books but Marvel blatantly stole this idea from Don Pendleton.
Everybody only counts live action Punisher, which is sad because everyone is missing out on Tom Jane in the Punisher game. A game in which he gives detailed descriptions of what each weapon will do to a human body. This includes the famous line about a 50. Cal sniper rifle "For long distance brain surgery".
Im sorry but Thomas Jane is by far the best actor to play the Punisher. If you havent seen the Dirty Laundry mini film he helped fund here on YT I highly reccomend it. The 04 movie he played him in was alright too. But he definitely just fits the rile especially well.
My favorite frank castle moment was when he got webbed by spider man to a plaster wall ... And he used acid to get free saying "flesh webbing or stone something has to give 1st.. " Grizzled badass
The thing is Penance Stare works based on sins not how sorry you feel; that specific comic was pretty much the embodiment of someone saying "Punisher is the coolest, most badass tough guy ever and no one can beat the power of GUN"
The movie was an origin story, very heavy on origin. It went deep into humanizing Frank before he takes that last step into his forever war. That bothered alot of people.

If it's 4km then shooting at that distance means that Frank has to use math to consider the coriolis effect aka taking into count the rotation of the fucking earth
The thing with the Skull logo...it was adopted by a lot of military. A group of special forces were nicknamed “The Punishers” against the Taliban in the Middle East. The movie about Chris Kyle, the American sniper, they talk about it. Then a lot of people, out of respect for Chris Kyle and what he was what he stood for, adopted the logo as a symbol of “when necessary, they will punish those who do wrong against others.” It was never an “alt right” symbol. I have no real political alliance but people who don’t understand the true meaning or representation of anything should really do some research.

Who else wishes Kyle learned That Frank Castle become not just the Ghost Rider but the Cosmic Ghost Rider
Carl would probably lose it knowing that in his short series, Cosmic Frank had to penance stare/eat pirates to get body parts back. Especially noting how the captain took even longer to immolate/kill because she was tough as nails.
The Punisher is basically Captain America but he didn't use the super soldier serum to get there.
There is a comic about Sheild talking about Frank's kill count a d apparently he has personally killed 50,000 people.
Jeez
God DAMN
It says he doesn't drink alcohol? But I've seen many iterations where he's drinking alcohol. I think almost every live action version that they have of him, has at least one scene where he's drinking.
Very true!
The video not starting for anyone else?
Yep just buffering endlessly
Jon Bernthall was the only person to play the Punisher well? Man, why y'all gotta do Thomas Jane like that?
And Stevenson R.I.P
So in layman's term he is frankly "Frank" in all scenarios
A human honey bager
I think Dolph Lugdren still could reprise the role of Frank Castle. He plays very twisted fallen soldiers and does them well.
Every video on TH-cam will play except for this one
Frank getting Heavenly powers is the Marvel Knights storyline where Frank was killed before he was supposed to and Heaven itself gave him a second chance to be an angelic spirit of justice basically. He goes way overboard and Heaven tells him to not be crazy and they make him mortal again.
And this video continues to remind me of why Frank Castle is my 5th Favorite Superhero of All Time 🖤😊👊🏾
Ray Stevenson also did a very good job with the Punisher.
That part about the skull drawing fire towards armour is really smart damn
I have no idea why this video won’t load for me but imma give it a like anyways
Same here
Try turning off and on the device
My fave Punisher story is the "What if??? Punisher kills the marvel universe" wherein he kills all of marvels superheroes, to punish them for their wanton destruction that has ended the lives of so many innocent bystanders.
The fact that "frank the tank"isnt an alias is a shame
The Punisher is actually based off of another fictional character named Mack Bolan "The Executioner". Great series of books but Marvel blatantly stole this idea from Don Pendleton.
I mean it's not that unique of a character it's a trope that's been around since humans discovered murder
DC also has a guy named Executioner... XD
I could listen to facts about Frank for hours on end
For some reason I can’t watch this video it literally just buffers forever. Doesn’t happen to any other video.
I've had that with some videos and I've seen others have had it on this video, it's just getting unlucky and I don't know if you can watch it at all
Everybody only counts live action Punisher, which is sad because everyone is missing out on Tom Jane in the Punisher game. A game in which he gives detailed descriptions of what each weapon will do to a human body. This includes the famous line about a 50. Cal sniper rifle "For long distance brain surgery".
Or the 5.56 that turns and tumbles inside the body
"For when I really want to hurt someone."
The game was pretty fun, esp. the finishing moves.
@@TheAzCorner Or when he describes the M60's tendency to melt barrels "For a change of barrel in the field, I bring oven mitts."
I've been waiting for another punisher related video
Cops wearing Punisher shirts under their uniform should reconsider their life choices tho.
4:23 That's not why that story line was made. It was to represent what Disney wishes it could do to all the people that use their IP's under Fair Use.
Anyone else unable to load the video?
Turn on and off your device it should work
Im sorry but Thomas Jane is by far the best actor to play the Punisher. If you havent seen the Dirty Laundry mini film he helped fund here on YT I highly reccomend it. The 04 movie he played him in was alright too. But he definitely just fits the rile especially well.
Jane portrayed the professional soldier side well, Bernthal not so much.
Let's go, another wiki weekends. Whew!
Why is it that this video in specific decides not to load for me?
"War Is Sweet, To Those Who Have Not Experienced It."
the fact that the punisher got a portal to a part of heaven and proceeded to use it to produce angelic guns is amazing
It is the weirdest thing TH-cam refused to load this video yesterday but today it works fine.
My favorite frank castle moment was when he got webbed by spider man to a plaster wall ... And he used acid to get free saying "flesh webbing or stone something has to give 1st.. "
Grizzled badass
Just wondering if this video doesn’t work for anyone else or if it just my device.
me too
Same
Turn on and off your device it should work
“Shit I better not mess with this dude” -Ghost Rider-
Frank Castle in the comics: Is a master in combat, strategy and everything in-between.
FRank Castle in the Netflix show: Screams really hard.
The thing is Penance Stare works based on sins not how sorry you feel; that specific comic was pretty much the embodiment of someone saying "Punisher is the coolest, most badass tough guy ever and no one can beat the power of GUN"
His super power is LITERALLY just being a Marine! lol
The deadliest weapon on earth- a Marine and his gun.
I... I liked Thomas Jane's portrayal of Frank Castle
The movie was an origin story, very heavy on origin. It went deep into humanizing Frank before he takes that last step into his forever war. That bothered alot of people.
@@jreese7436 The movie was iffy, but I thought Jane did a really good job himself given what he had to work with. Especially when he played the character again in Dirty Laundry. That was just awesome.
For the love of god I just wanna watch my new favorite channel but TH-cam decided this one video will not load, every other video on the platform is gonna load for me, but not this one. FML.
It was Baron Zemo who carved that skull into his chest and it was during the Rosenberg run which begins with that red comic you used in the background.
All that's missing to Frank's resume is a contract from Mephistopheles and a Harley.
This video doesn’t exist for me. Won’t load. Can’t download it I have to wait probably 12 hours to watch it
Try now
Bro same
Ight we out here now bois
Frank Castle weaknesses
*Bullets*
"My one weakness!!!"
i like how when carl stands just right it looks like it says "punch her"
Coming back to ask for a wiki weekend of the cosmic ghost rider, after a year of doing so.
Jon Berenthal is a super cool dude in real life in case anyone was wondering, super down to earth
The punisher does not discriminate, he blows out criminal brains equally
me, accidentally stepping into The Punisher Zone, a 4-km circle around The Punisher: “uh oh”
Great video love to see more
The Doom guy is just Punisher returning from hell.
I don't care what anyone says.... Warzone was one of the best comic movies ever.
You are not wrong
there's an interesting old comic book I have (not sure if i still have it; probably in a closer somewhere) where the punisher crosses over with archie. and it just so jarring to see the two art styles collide at the time.
half expected to hear "Frank Woods" after the alias drop when you said he went back to war
"I was MIA in 'Nam, but your old man though I was an Onion" Frank woods ~1987
You should do a Wiki Weekend of Namor. I don't know a whole lot about his character, but if he's anything at all like Aquaman he's probably extremely underestimated
My favorite torture method that the punisher used was the ice popsicle scene in the punisher movie. Ridiculous but it made me laugh.
If it's 4km then shooting at that distance means that Frank has to use math to consider the coriolis effect aka taking into count the rotation of the fucking earth
I got to watch the ads twice, still not playing the video.
Turn on and off your device it should work
Thomas Jane’s portrayal of The Punisher in Dirty Laundry is best IMO.
Is anyone else having trouble getting the video to play?
Same
Turn on and off your device it should work
The thing with the Skull logo...it was adopted by a lot of military.
I luv watching these vids 2 start my day in the morning keep em comingg
I like the Punisher, because he reminds me of Mack Bolon a dude in a series of novels I use to read. They called him the Executioner.
No love for Ray Stevenson's Punisher? He shoots a guy flipping in midair with a rocket launcher in his movie.
5:56 his powers are bullets. presumably chambered in 5.56
Thomas Jane and Dolph Lundgren Played the best Frank Castle.
Also I believe punisher was said to have a superhuman level pain tolerance and as such punching him through a wall won't really stop the guy
Man talked about losing a rib or two to a shotgun like he was checking items off a grocery list
