      Yup, Castle doesn't want people to follow in his footsteps as long as he's alive. Which happened in the end of the MAX run. Normally he doesn't want people using his skull since they'll either get killed by Castle's enemies or by Castle himself.

      I never understand why cops have tried to adopt that Punisher logo. They are the exact opposite of what Punisher stands for. They uphold the law, which gives certain protections for criminals. They’re basically statists and are servants for the state run by corrupt politicians. A lot of cops I’ve noticed are anti-2nd amendment and don’t believe in owning guns for self defense; something Punisher wouldn’t be okay with.

      Frank's human, human's make mistakes, Frank should know this. Frank is a war man and the innocent get hurt in wars; surely any harm to the innocent is dwarfed by how many innocent saved, but it *can't* be nothing, surely.
      Conversely, that is, unless Ghostrider's stare only applies to deliberate, physical harm done to the innnocent. Yuck. So many problems.
      Best that Ghostrider represent divine justice for *all* harm to the innocent and The Punisher remain human, with human flaws and struggles we can identify with - better stories! Rant over. Thanks for listening, caller! ^_^

      You're actually wrong. Frank was able to deal with the pain, but he wasn't immune to it. Some characters have the ability to not give a shit enough, that a PART of the penance stare doesn't work, but the part that sears your soul? Yeah, no avoiding that. Also, Frank almost died from that. So there's also that.

      @@wormbaby666 Ghostrider can also Influence the Penance Stare to have varying effects. Sometimes he'll just have others reflect on what they've done wrong in their lives, while others are more extreme. Some aren't affected by the Penance Stare for multiple reasons, either because A: they've never intentionally dealt harm to innocent beings, or B: they're sadistic and masochistic and enjoy the pain (Thanos being the prime example).

    Best t*rture moment from Punisher;
    During a storyline where slavers were shipping people away from the states, Frank found out about a veteran soldier who was basically the right hand man of the main slave trader. He drugged the guy, dragged him into the woods, numbed his entire body, cut him open, pulled his guts out, looped them around the tree and its branches, treated him so he wouldn't bleed out, and when the guy woke up and freaked out seeing his intestines all around him but he was alive Frank said, "Okay, let's talk." Fun Fact: It is greatly implied the The Punisher is one of Mistress Death's chosen champions similar to that of Thanos as part of a bargain for surviving one of the bloodiest ambush in the Vietnam War. Though, Frank has no memory of this. Recent Cosmic Ghost Rider series has also implied a deep connection between Thanos and Frank with the latter inadvertently exposing the infant Titan to countless death and destruction ironically to curb the Mad God's nihilism and former being one of the catalysts that changed Frank into the Cosmic Ghost Rider.

      So Frank not only had the Ghost Rider powers but also the power cosmic. Later End Game Thanos came to wipe Galactus out and after he easily destroyed Galactus, he decided to keep Frank as his pet/herald, and would have Frank do the Ghost Rider Penance Stare to him for introspection purposes.
      Frank had went a little loopy though but his but kicking abilities went through the roof. I know at one part he wipes out hundreds of millions of alien advanced soldiers at one point across a whole continent by combining his power cosmic and his hellfire.

    The comic that comes to mind when you mention what happened in the Old Man Frank comics ("always one bullet left") is the Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe one-off. I don't know if it also happened in the Old Man Frank comics, as I haven't gotten the chance to read those yet, but I know it happens in the PKTMU one. He was on a war path to avenge his family after they were killed in a conflict between superheroes, and he went after every single hero/enhanced individual out there. The last one on his list was Daredevil, who removed his mask while he was dying to reveal that he was Frank's best friend, Matt Murdock, the one man who still believed in him. As Matt laid there, dying, he told Castle that "there is always someone behind the mask," and that "you killed us all, Frank," and Frank responds with something to the tune of "no, there's one target left," and turned his gun on himself.
    So, even if it did happen in the Old Man Frank comics, that just proves that it's not just a one-off action that was caused by the situation he was in. It's a recurring thing with him. Even in the NMCU shows, especially Daredevil s2, they touch upon that aspect of his character.
    I honestly don't know where I'm going with this, It was just a connection I thought of. It's interesting to learn about these little details that have stuck around in his characterization over the years, and to see the way they have developed and been shown throughout the years.

    The thing with the Skull logo...it was adopted by a lot of military. A group of special forces were nicknamed “The Punishers” against the Taliban in the Middle East. The movie about Chris Kyle, the American sniper, they talk about it. Then a lot of people, out of respect for Chris Kyle and what he was what he stood for, adopted the logo as a symbol of “when necessary, they will punish those who do wrong against others.” It was never an “alt right” symbol. I have no real political alliance but people who don’t understand the true meaning or representation of anything should really do some research.
