One of the details about the Doom+Strange-v-Mephisto story I rather like that was omitted here is that Doom first arranged to fight Strange in a ritual combat that allowed him to demand a boon of Strange afterward. Doom then demanded that Strange help him fight Mephisto as his boon, and Strange was like "why didn't you just ask? Mephisto's a dick and you're doing something good, I would have helped you without needing any of this." And Doom responded basically "Doom does not *ask* for help. Doom only *demands* help."

Doom talking to a Doombot about letting Arcade live after Arcade lit a match on the Doombot:

Doombot is then slowly giving off steam and ultimately explodes
D: " *NEED* ? Doom *needs* no one."
Doom is the coolest Marvel villain by far. They seriously just make an adaptation of Trials and Torment.
Ya know what one of the reasons I like comic Dr Doom is that he is a man of principles. And Doom WILL NOT compromise on those principles.
I liked one of the Damage Control issue where Dr. Doom's repair bill was being sent to collections, and they were figuring out how they could stand up to him and what heroes would take such a mission... only to have Doom himself stroll in and actually *apologize*, and pay the balance, as it was a rare oversight on his part.
And before someone cries about it being uncharacteristically humble, it was because Dr. Doom refused to be in a position where it could possibly be thought that he was a deadbeat, so he personally flew in from Latveria to their office in NYC to pay the bill in person.
Doesnt sound humble just sounds like regular doom. He had a actual dept that needed payment so he paid it that's pretty on brand for him.
Yeah in terms of ego, sounding humble is one thing but looking like a bill dodging loser is unacceptable.
One of my favorite doom fun facts is that after he and iron man went back to Camelot, doom kept in contact with Morgana le fay , and he occasionally time travels to visit her and they bang in exchange for her teaching him magic
Morgan is hot so that's understandable.

My favourite Doom moment is in one of the Marvel Zombies run.
There is this worm or something which is going to grow and destroy the world, the Fantastic 4 are trying to stop it and get a plan for someone to take it to one of the zombie dimensions. But who ever does it can't come back. It's a suicide move.
They are debating about who should do it when Doom announces that he will carry the monster.
Why?
Well as he tells Reed it's so that Reed will live, knowing that Doom did something he could not. That Reed is alive only because of Doom.
That level of pettiness is just so amazing I love it.
'Yeah imma do a suicide run all so that I can finally prove to Reed Richards that im better than him.'

Ultimate fantastic 4, the best is when the worm chooses a host after being exercised from human torch. The worm is drawn to power and it everybody thinks it's gonna fly to Thor for the new host and it goes straight past him and goes for Doom (which was reed at this time) then he did the switch to be the hero
And the craziest thing is that not only Doom was sent to a zombie universe, but he managed to survive and came back much later. And this isn't the main version of Doom
This guy might even be able to 2V one legends Darth Vader, and Palpatine.
It is a very minor scar (barely noticeable), he remains a beautiful man. He just internally amplifies his flaws so wears the full mask. So well written.
Depends on which Doom it is. Some of them scarred themselves by putting on a hot mask. Some just have facial dysmorphia and simple scar. Sometimes both

@@VexxtheVoid the version I like because it shows his arrogance as an actual flaw(as apposed to a generally accurate assessment of his abilities) is that the scar from his machine was some small thing that he blew out of proportion because of his arrogance so he when and made his mask and before it had time to cool put it on and... well let's just say red hot metal isn't good for the human face. and thus his inability to accept even the slightest flaw, simply made the flaw infinitely worse. I just think it perfectly captures his character

He shows up in the Mephisto arc to deliver the final blow and walks off. No introduction no fanfare. He decks the devil, walks offscreen, and leaves the protags confused as hell.

Doctor Doom is probably my favorite Marvel villain because he completely believes he needs to lead humanity for their own good. It is such a good motivation.

A man proclaiming his dictatorship and how he'll lead the prople to a golden age of prosperity (so long as they all just give him power and do as he says) does sound like a villain, true; there are no shortage of charismatic lunatics who become hideous despots that bring down greater evil than what they rose up to oppose. But there's one key difference between Victor von Doom and all the others: *_he's right._* Doom actually can solve all of society's issues if people just agree to follow him, it just happens that he's also kind of a petty antisocial dick on a personal level.
I love that the bit at the end where they talk about him just bursting through walls instead of using doors because it's actually cannon in the comics. His castle doesn't even have doors for the most part

I've always liked God King Doom. Basically anything with him is amazing, especially when he Sub Zero's Thanos by ripping his spine out. And his cold line afterwards, "He attempted a psychological gambit, he failed, he died."
Or when he was trapped in Hell and tortured for a thousand years or something and refused to make a sound so they wouldn't get the satisfaction.
Or any scene with him and Captain America, how when Cap asks for his help, he would help and not make a performance out of it. Gotta love the ruler of Latveria.

Honestly I want it to happen at the UN. Like it’s his turn to give a speech and he just busts through the wall behind the podium, arrogantly walks to the mike, and gives his speech while speaking about himself in the third person. Then when he is done he just causally goes to his UN seat and sits down.

I think my favorite thing surrounding Dr. Doom is that in the facebook game Avengers Alliance, he's a recruitable character... but no one wants to fight with him, so your player character is the only other person who can be in combat should you choose to field Doom. And Doom doesn't give a shit about it, to him you're just there to keep an eye on him and that's all.

In some origins his face isn't too horribly scarred. In one, he just has a single scar (that looks pretty cool tbh). However he sees it as an imperfection, something ugly and it further drives him to be Doctor Doom

This makes Dr. Doom sound like the edgiest Marvel character since Soeedball after he killed those… those poor children.
OK but after everything you've said I'm starting to question how Dr. Doom is even considered a villain. He rules the happiest most successful country in the world, is always trying to better himself, and he literally fights the devil on an ongoing basis. His portfolio reads like earths greatest hero
Yeah… he would a be a good one… if he wasn’t willing to follow the mantra, “the ends justifies the means.” He is willing to murder, torture, sacrifice… every evil thing under the sun to get his goals. His main issue is that he holds grudges and he only does things to prove others wrong. He has an ego so big even the Hulk can’t lift it, but he himself CAN. So he usually does things to spite the heroes. They agree he is competent, but he is willing to allow his hatred for Reed Richards and anyone else that has ever stood against him to control him. Many theorize that his Utopia is being maintained as a way to tell the heroes, “you are the reason Earth isn’t like this”. He even cured The Thing once… and then uncured him to spite Reed.
So… tldr: he has great potential to be a really good leader and person. His own personality and (albeit well deserved) ego as well as his penchant to betray, sacrifice and hate causes him to never be a good guy.
It's only because outside of Latveria, he's a goblin of a man.

Flashback to end of Black Panther 1 where Wakanda offers to help the world and people ask what a small African country can offer the world
Fade to 'present' where a reporter is going over what Wakanda aid has provided and calls Wakanda "The most technologically advanced country in the world"
Zoom out to Dr Doom doing paperwork in the foreground as the news plays on a TV in the background and Dr Doom looks up "The F&#*( did they just say?!?"
Zoom out even more to pan through Latveria being a utopia.
I think it’d be funny if MCU’s Doom origin story is that he was the benevolent super scientist dictator of Latveria who had no ambitions except to rule his country, but then he happened to be one of the people who got snapped. On his return, Latveria is in shambles and Doom has his “WHO DARES!?!” moment. But when they do the flashback to the moment where he gets snapped back, it turns out he was already masked and armored, no explanation given.
Now I want the MCU to introduce doctor doom as the protagonist (still the villain) like how infinity war did with Thanos, cause he's got like iron man/doctor strange vibes

Agreed. I feel like the best thing to do would be to introduce him outside of the fantastic four. They've got him so wrong for so long that you have to dedicate time to unteaching the audience everything they "know" about doom and then build him back up. And you can't do that while you're doing the same thing to an entire team of heroes.
Based on wakanda forever, I could imagine him trying to get something from namors homeland and starting a war between latveria and an alliance between wakanda and talokan. I could also see the thunderbolts being sent, and if he ever sets foot in new York strange would probably try and question him too since he did the same thing to thor and loki in ragnarok. The mcu is dense enough now I feel like he could piss off a bunch of people just trying to get what's needed to rescue his mom.

With the joke of walking through walls, I remembered "The Emperor's New Groove" of how Kuzko just walked to one and the subjects made a new door and pathway for him.

Doom deserves his own movie. He’s been done dirty in his past films, so a movie casting him as an anti-hero/anti-villain, exploring his motivations, and with a touch of “unreliable narrator” thrown in would be great. Maybe with Mephisto as the primary antagonist throughout, and ending with him freeing his mother by getting her to denounce him?

I would love it if Dr. Doom still came to hell every year to fight Mephisto even after freeing his mother's soul just on the principle of both tradition and habit, but also, "Fuck you, you tortured my mom for years, I'm going to keep coming back here to kick your ass for forever!" I'd be disappointed if he just stopped doing it, you know? lol
What makes me even more surprised is that doom losses these fights. His suit literally has pieces of the cross in it so he's also doing holy damage and Mephisto is just taking those punches every year.
Now I want a crossover where doctor doom gets the doom slayer to fight Mephisto in his stead

The MCU already missed its best opportunity to introduce Doom and Latveria, and they could have done it in passing. After Age of Ultron, when Sokovia is in shambles, Latveria should have been a neighboring nation that becomes ravaged with crime as refugees from Sokovia flee to Latveria and put a massive strain on their resources. And then Doom takes over and turns the nation into a utopia easily capable of handling the refugee crisis. Or, after the snap, Latveria is in complete shambles until Doom takes over and they recover faster than any other nation. Either of these could have been mentioned during a news broadcast in the background of another MCU film.
Even better: makes Latveria be Sokovia. Like, after Dr. Doom reaches power he changes the name of the country and turns it into one of the most powerful nations of the world.
I can see the line of some hero calling the country "Sokovia" and Doom responding:
"Sokovia was the country you destroyed. Latveria is the country I builded from the debris you left behind"
As they're making the joke about Doom not using doors and just going through the walls I wonder if they filmed this before or after they saw Black Adam and the rock do the exact same thing.

I think it'd be even funnier if doom walks through the door without opening it or even in the middle of it being opened. Not strictly being a dick by ignoring the door, just whether or not someone's opened it. Everywhere he goes people just get surprised because he doesn't wait for doors to open. It'd also be hilarious if the doorman opens it after he enters with full decorum even though doom is already inside the room. We just see the doorman go through the whole process for seemingly no reason, salutes and announces doom, then closes the door.

That bit at the end, with Doom and the doors? They made that one in Fist of the North Star: Raoh's Origin (it's an anime, think Mad Max meets Kung Fu) main villain does not use doors because, I quote, "he builds his own path". Dude is, incidentally, basically a kung fu Dr Doom.

15:42 This would be a good joke, but Doom demands respect. He could just show up in a movie, but he needs his own film after the fact and have it played mostly straight. Just have his introduction be Falcon/cap, along with Bucky killing off terrorists trying to assassinate a politician in a “the beast” style car. Whenever the car pulls up to the event, Doom steps out of the car and blasts the last assassin before continuing to the event like nothing happened , then cuts to whatever the next Avengers movie will be about.
And for fuck sake, no more nano suits; his armor should have weight, and sound somewhat clunky.

One of my favorite things about recent marvel comics is that it's revealed that Mephisto is going to invade earth in the future and trample most if not all of its heroes, save for one: Spider-girl May Parker
And Dr. Strange, who is seeing this vision, sees Mayday just swinging through Mephisto's army with nothing but a damaged suit and a determined look in her eye that only a Parker can.
Which means that Mephisto is scared that the unborn baby of MJ and Peter is going to kick his ass, which seems so funny to me
Rather than him walking through the wall, I want his people to roll out a red carpet, start tooting horns, declare his highness' presence, then as marvel heroes or the government or whoever stares at the doorway where the red carpet is, Doom just flies down through the roof/ceiling. And as he exits, he flies out through the roof but breaks another hole in the roof instead of just flying out of the hole he made in the first place

I think there’s some fan theories that he wasn’t actually that badly scarred by the accident and it was his ego that made him put on the suit, but because he was so impatient he put the mask on while it was still white hot, thus permanently messing up his face (not that it matters as he never takes it off anyway).
Rather than have him cameo in the UN, have him in the G20 summit (or G22 in the MCU - our G20 plus Wakanda and Latvaria); just imagine the standard photoshoot of all the leaders with Doom just standing in the middle, arms crossed and looking like a boss. 😂
One other way they could get Doom into the MCU without having to delve into his backstory is have the next Doctor Strange film be about fighting Mephisto, and Strange has to go and ask Doom to borrow his hell portal machine to get to Hell. And that could set the groundwork for a Doom movie with him calling in a favour from Strange for the lending of the portal machine.
See I can see Strange using the portal to hell, but more like using it without permission. Its a trope that heroes are always breaking into his castle to use his stuff, particularly his time travel machine if I recall. Its such a trope that once Squirrel Girl came by to do just that, and being that it is Squirrel Girl, Doom saved himself the aggravation and let her use it free of charge. She is the only hero I know Doctor Doom really doesnt like fighting.
