I like the addition of almonds. I recently discovered that adding nuts to a sweet breakfast such as this one makes a huge impact. In my case it's brazil nuts & pieces of banana. It really elevates the whole eating experience so much. Sadly brazil nuts are incredibly expensive.

Culinary arts isnt a big thing in america and pretty much bottom of the barrel shite, id put it down to laziness and utter arrogance when it comes to cooking and the pronunciation from you americans.

looks delicious and I mean to try it - I am just surprised that there is no grated apple in this recipe - I thought that was a key ingredient in the traditional bircher muesli
It is....as is soaking overnight. This recipe he's shown is simply oats in yogurt with a bit of fruit...plus the added sugar of pure apple juice!

Just lightly season the vomit, and now, in he pan. Add just a drizzle of olive oil, it really enhances and bring out the flavour in the vomit.

this is no Bircher muesli! The grated apples are essential.
I love trying all the different Bircher Muesli versions when I travel in the Alps, but I think my favourite was the one with rhubarb. And they never taste right without the grated apple so don't skip that step
I’ve been making this for years and I had no idea it was already a thing. I thought I invented something. Instead of berries I use a nice jam/preserves
Apparently this was a big part of Peter Jackson's diet when he lost a bunch of weight.
Perfect!!! I make my own yogurt with my own goat milk and its always nice to find other ways to feed the husband before a long morning on the farm.
I have been trying to find out if he uses rolled oats with this, or instant oats. I know that with raw oats you are supposed to soak them overnight to make them more easily digestible. From what I read most muesli is made with rolled, but most muesli is also soaked. I did make it with rolled and it tasted fine, but I would still like to know lol.
Did you soak them when you made it with rolled oats?

In the original you but oats, joghurt, apples, lemon juice and haselnuts in and some additional fruits. Bircher himself sweetend it with condensed milk.
