I like how he starts cooking immediately. No ads. No BS. No fluff. No extended intro. No clickbait. No marketing his new book and shows. Just goes straight to what the title of the video says.
I guess, that’s because the videos were part of his app. The app is no more, so yeah.
And he is already a millionaire, so I don't think it necessary for him to do the ads
That's not how he makes money
He cares about the food
And he just started this video saying what's the secret
This guy should be a professional chef.
Yeah, he should open a restaurant! I bet it would become popular.
He should become a judge on MasterChef

Wow, I’m so amped up hearing how many times you went back at it!!!
I kid you not I went through four other videos just looking for a simple QUICK how-to. I was skipping through vids just to get through all the chit-chat and nonsense to the part about the egg and then they do all this complicated crap. Strain the egg, only cook one at a time, love the egg. Ugh. This video: quick, no BS, no 10 min intro, here is how you do it and done. Brilliant.

It's a half cup of butter or 1 stick of butter in case anyone else was wondering like I was. Just tried to make it this morning and all was well until I left the sauce to stay warm on top of the warm water pot too long and it turned into scrambled eggs. I don't recommend leaving it to stay warm on top of the pot. Other than that it was delicious! Sauce had great flavor and was the right consistency(before my slip up). Will have to try again soon !
Someone suggested to add 2+ tbsp of the boiling water to bring it to life again but never tried that.
I brought my water up to "a running boil" and got scrambled eggs on my Hollandaise. Probably the most important thing you need to know that Chef Ramsey DOES NOT teach here is that there should be just enough heat (not too much, but not too little) for the eggs & butter to meld properly.. this may take some trial and error for you to find out how much heat is right for your specific stove & cooking utensils.
Might want to take the sauce off the heat until needed, than heat it up just a bit. I don't think the sauce is supposed to terribly hot anyway.
Thanks I was wondering n looking through the comments hoping someone would tell how much butter was needed n low n behold u graced us with the knowledge I needed so thank u for taking the time I truly appreciate it.
I used 10 sticks of butter
My first attempt came out pretty good. I know what I need to tweak for next time. This was a life saver. I never even poached an egg before or made hollandaise sauce. Thank you so much for this! Really helpful!
My hollandaise sauce turned into scrambled eggs, so I had scrambled eggs on top of poached eggs, it was delicious... Gordon would be furious
You should keep whisking 😂
Don Rossco Joe gordon would kick your ass to be honest
Turn down the heat or cook them with the hot butter and an immersion blender.
Well, that depends. Are you merely some random Joe (pun intended) off the street that has a passion for cooking, or are you a professional chef that should know what they are doing? If you are just the random Joe, he would be happy to help you and would be very supportive. If you are a "professional" then you get yelled at.
Just call it a new recipe.
I love how he put a touch of egg in that butter. Wow

I make the sauce last. That way, nothing else needs to be hot when served. The sauce will warm everything up. And I don’t have to worry about keeping it warm as I prepare everything else, so I don’t keep it over the steam and risk scrambled or broken hollandaise. Furthermore, it also gives me the option to add a bit of the bacon fat or parma ham fat into my butter for the hollandaise. It unifies the flavors very nicely and tastes marvelous.
Shutup you are not Gordon
im gonna use that tech
Yeah I always make the sauce last too! Leave it too long and it inevitably thickens too much
@Tom Carroll thanks for the tips! I'm slow in the kitchen and get distracted easily, so I think when I attempt to make this for the first time, I'll make the sauce last
I made this with filet and it was wonderful. I put just a mist of paprika and the tiniest bit of parsley for presentation. The Hollandaise took longer than I expected to thicken. Be patient and keep looking at it. It goes from thin to thick all of a sudden and you don't want to miss it!
He sounds so nice when he’s cooking but when he’s watching others cook, that is a completely different story.
hes a perfectionist and has years under his belt of experience in culinary arts. plus, hes showing how to cook, not teaching anyone but himself and to those who may take interest. in my experience, when i cook for the people i love and care about, id be like him to.
Gordon Ramsay is a cooking legend- He’s earned it, and those people are learning under that pressure (from their horrible mistakes).
You learn better with embaressment. Theres a bit of method to his teaching. You won't make the same mistake when you get singled out and called on it.
Not sure tomorrow forget that this is his "thing". You have to create a persona for the TV. People don't want realism, they want drama.

People tend to eat Eggs Benedict as a late breakfast/brunch item.
Legendary Weapon Don't like that either. Light and more healthy is better. I usually go for an egg or two and whisk with it some egg whites for an omelette or scrambled. Toast and tomatoes cucumbers or a little bit of fruit like bananas or cherries (my personal favs/tastes) with avocado. Tends to take a few years out of the hospital bed later in life :).

That just how old classic recipe.
I think people are too literal with his ingredient amounts. He might say a tablespoon of this, a teaspoon of that, but that's just a control amount for the people who can't cook. When you do cook, you get a feel for how much you need and some things you can go a little heavier on. Like curry, for example. A recipe might call for 4 tablespoons, but you can use 5 or 6 or even 3. It's personal taste. Some things you can't overdo it. Like vinegar. It's going to be less forgiving if you use too much or not enough.
Basically "Do as i say, not as i do".
