The most important thing is that the islands have not had any contact with the outside world. This means that they are not immune to smallpox, measles and similar diseases. A nearby island had contact with the outside world and was almost exterminated by diseases. The reason why it is illegal to visit the islands is for the islanders' security.

Plenty of unsaved souls in America that he could minister to, but no, he chooses to take the good news to a remote island far removed from civilisation to a tribe who don't want or need saving , BREAKING the laws against travelling there, BRIBING locals to take him there and thus getting them into trouble with the police for complicity, KNOWING full well the consequences for his actions. To begin, this is a tribe that is isolated from the rest of society; hence, their immune system is not as strong as the common person that is exposed to all kinds of diseases. Thus, people should leave them alone before they expose them to irreparable damage (contaminate them with deadly diseases).
Second, This island is recognized as a sovereign area, meaning that they are free to do as they like in their own soil; thus, if people believe that they can freely enter, then the people of North Sentinel can freely pile up the bodies of people that enter their soil. I mean what a double standard, American Christians (most of them conservatives) get bothered when illegal aliens enter the United States, yet they want to set foot in these peoples' land in order to proselytize to them, and by doing so they would change their customs, their way of living.
Third, the Indian government has declared the Island and a certain portion of North Sentinel's shores as exclusion zones. Thus, if these missionaries and Christian people want others to respect the laws of the countries that they reside in, then they should respect the laws of other foreign countries, in this case India.
Lastly, these tribes men and women speak a different language. Thus, Before an english ( or any other language) speaking missionary can utter a word, there will be a dozen arrows flying towards their direction.

John Allen Chau, broke all these above laws and there are no evidences till now which proves that he had a proper permit to visit the island. He did not care about the risks and laws involved in visiting the island and took the wrong step in making contact with the people. It can be said that he was an adventure enthusiast and whatever he faced, it was all because of his actions.
Moreover, the laws will not allow the Indian Government to punish the remote tribe of the island. Even if the laws are changed, the human rights groups and tribal protection organizations will not let it happen. Missions and missionaries should be highly illegal. Imagine Sentinel Island being your house. And someone repeatedly keeps trespassing despite making it clear they are not welcome. What would you do? What makes your religion so great that you must force it on to other people. John kept offering these people gifts of fish as if they can’t fish and feed themselves. They have inhabited the island for 60,000 years. They can survive without your religion or gifts. They have good reason to be hostile and not want any outsiders. Stories have been passed on to them for thousands of years since leaving Africa. John trying to build a church on their island is no different than colonialism. Leave the people alone. John is not a martyr, what he did is a superior complex that he seemed to have. What makes their home Satan’s last stronghold?

The Sentinelese are afraid of outsiders because of what happened in the past with British occupation but this isn't British occupation. It's just a single missionary who took all precautions (especially with health). He was not going there will the flu or something. Other missionaries have gone to remote islands with no issues - John Paton is a good example of that. He went to the New Hebrides. And what about Livingtstone? Were the people in Africa he was ministering to immune? Was that even an issue? However it was illegal for him to go there but only because of nonsensical outdated law based on phobias. It's no different than in the first century when it was illegal to preach the gospel for various reasons mainly though because it meant choosing Christ over Caesar. If Christians had respected that law or those laws there would be no Christianity. I should also mention Anti-Apartheid and the Civil Rights Movement all involving people who broke the rules for the greater good. I feel like our world is going backward in their thinking now or maybe they are just hypocritical.

Jesus Christ saves. Salvation is a free gift to anyone who wants it. Jesus Christ died for your sins, and the only way to heaven is through Him. He is the way, truth, and life. At the end of it, it’s your eternity and it’s your choice where you spend it. Not one person is good, we all fall short of the glory of God. If you seek God you will find Him. No matter what you have done or where you have been you can be saved. Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He rose from the dead and profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and you will be saved.
Christ saved my life, I was the biggest skeptic of Christ. Addicted to all sorts of things. Evolutionist, believed in God but didn’t want anything to do with God. Lord has been very good to me. Even in hardship God has been with me. Jesus saved me and I’m not afraid to say it. You guys crack jokes and tease other Christians commenting, but I’m telling you, you best get saved. Plenty of proof out there. I hand out tracts and evangelize to bring people like you to Christ. Blind, deaf, dead inside. No hope. Straight for hell, just like I was. I was once you. Don’t make a mistake, get saved.
