  • Join us as we walk along the South West Coast path from Mullion Cove to Predannack, Cornwall. Useful for exercising on a treadmill or exercise bike or simply for relaxation.
It is our ambition to walk the entire Cornish coast path as virtual walks and stitch the videos together as a single playlist so that you can enjoy the coast path whenever you wish.
Mullion Cove was once a hive of activity landing pilchards which were then salted and stored for the winter. Pilchards passed the Cornish Coast in shoals of many tens of thousands and were a staple part of the Cornish diet 150 years ago.
The cliff climbs steeply to about 200 feet above sea level and the views are spectacular. From this height is was possible for the huers to spot the shoals of pilchards and send up the cry. The fishing rights were owned by the local landowners and the coast was divided into lanes or stems. In this video we cross the old boundary hedge between two estates, defining one fishing boundary.
With such a rugged coastline and ferocious winter storms, this area has seen its fair share of shipwrecks, with men scrambling up the cliff face in fear of their lives. This video ends at Predannack and we will pick up the cast path to Kynance in our next video.
We intentionally do not talk when filming these videos so that you can enjoy the sounds of nature without disturbance.

    The standard description bit…
We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on TH-cam, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!
    Frequently asked questions:
    What camera do we use?
Since December 2018 we have used: Canon Powershot G7x MkII
How do I find the books you use?
Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops and may be available on Amazon secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description.
Best time of year to visit Cornwall?
We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
    What is your dog’s name?
Sorry but we do not release the name of our dog, perhaps you can make up your own name for him.

Nice to see your daughter home from uni & walking with you & your faithful doggy friend in this one. Long walk for sure.... although the sign said 2 miles it felt a lot longer! You are blessed with having such lovely local walks on your doorstep to chill out. x J x

@@CornishWalkingTrails Indeed, when you all take a walk, you don't waste any time! I'm totally in-step with JB's comment. Oh, to have such landscapes surrounding me when I head out for a stroll! I could even be enticed to go the extra mile, probably not even noticing additional exertion given those views. Regardless, I've recently resumed low-impact exercise while running errands. When taking public transit, if destination not too far away, I'll ride bus/train there, then walk home, or vice-versa.

Quite steep that first bit, I walk up there twice last week in the hope of catching a good sunset, 🌅 fabulous walk we must do the circular Mullion to Predannack from the book Shortish Walks on and around The Lizard.

Thank you... tis my favorite part of the world .... I read that the Mullion is a wild flower sanctuary.... be nice if you could zoom in on the odd flower and name it also mention any old fashioned medicinal uses it had ... I don’t think I will get to Cornwall again so i treasure your walks ... not being there since 2012 ... never walked the Mullion although it was the top of my list of things to do .... thank you so much again ❤ 😎👍

Lovely walk and very enjoyable to watch. Loved seeing all the place names and the info you provided. Its fascinating that Predannack Wollas Farm has been a working farm for 1000 years and people have been walking those cliffs for just as long. The views are beautiful.

Another lovely walk! When you do these long non-circular walks do you take two cars and have one at each end of the walk or do you turn around and walk back??

    • @CornishWalkingTrails
      @CornishWalkingTrails  2 ปีที่แล้ว

We turn around and walk all the way back! Sometimes we know a quicker route across fields but not always! Sarah :)

Well, unfortunately the vlog videos take the best part of 30 hours to film, edit and upload to TH-cam so it is simply not possible to produce 2 a week and work. Sarah
