Predannack Head gives up its secrets! Coast Walk from Predannack Wollas to Mullion Cove, Cornwall

- In this video we enjoy a 3.5 mile circular walk starting at the tucked away location of Predannack Wollas Farm on the Lizard Peninsula. After leaving the farm, we take public footpaths to the coast, picking up the South West Coast Path towards Mullion Cove, a stunningly beautiful harbour among towering cliffs.
So what secrets does this walk uncover? We discover waterfalls, shipwrecks, legends and even an Agatha Christie connection, plus loads more besides. A most interesting walk with plenty of history on both the coastal outbound route and homebound field route, all topped off with the most exceptional scenery and coastal views.
The standard description bit…
We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on TH-cam, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!
Frequently asked questions:
What camera do we use?
Since December 2018 we have used: Canon Powershot G7x MkII
How do I find the books you use?
Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops and may be available on Amazon secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description.
Best time of year to visit Cornwall?
We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
What is your dog’s name?
Sorry but we do not release the name of our dog, perhaps you can make up your own name for him.

Oh, I have never been the first to see one of your videos. Brilliant xx
Yay, thank you! Sarah :)
Good to see you back out in the wild 😜
Brilliant to see you back doing walk videos again, all 3 of you look so happy! And a wonderful bit of coast too. I've always pronounced lichen as 'liken' - and Google seems to think that's how it should be said too. The gorse looks fantastic! Many thanks!!
Ahh! Thanks for the tips! Good old Google! Sarah :)
wonderful!
Another great walk, the views were magnificent and thankyou for the history. God bless you both.
Very enjoyable thank you.
Looks like a nice long walk.
Brings back happy memories of our walk the other way round last October when we were staying at the NT campsite there
good to see you out enjoying the weather. Watching this while getting ready for my own video adventure today and yes, it feels great to be out
Enjoyed watching whilst having my dinner. Thank you

ive explored mullion cove , lovely little place ,i have a fridge magnet from the gift shop sarah and andrew
Beautiful ocean views. So happy to see all three of you joyfully happy for you new found freedom.
Truly a delight to be able to go a bit further afield! Sarah :)
Nice to see you both out and about again with doggy. Lovely peaceful walk, starting with a wobbly gate & gingerly creeping past a bit of bully on the way! Always a treat on the Lizard Peninsular. I was down in Cornwall when they were filming And Then There Were None! Had a long chat to the sound guy, but no sign of Aiden. Blustery windy overcast evening I remember....won't be seeing much of him again down there for a while as he went and got married recently!! Great walk. J x
Good news!! The great Aiden Turner in And Then There Were None is on TH-cam! Just finished it! Love Aiden! Very worth a watch! Danny. xx
What a great first video out of lockdown a visual feast for the eyes along the coast. Love you background narrative to each section of the walk , the cross was a great find and so lovely also the hedges and the background information on them was fascinating. A lovely day too for your first walk . We really enjoyed seeing this over our breakfast this morning,,,,,,,,,,Brian&Jane
Glad you enjoyed it! You would never believe how many points interest there could be in a relatively short walk! Sarah :)
Beautiful landscapes! I enjoy watching your videos and taking a walk with you! 😍🤗 Amazing places to explore! Lots of fresh air there! 👌
We missed this place last year, hopefully we can come by the summer this year. Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️
You lucky 🍀 people ❤️
I agree, nice couple too
Oh that sea ! It's so relaxing to watch , roll on June I need my holiday ! I like the history and stories you tell,
Great video 🥟🥟🥟
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you! Sarah :)
Love!💖
That was Great!
Tnx!🇺🇸
Yet another great video 📹 Cheers 🍷🍺
Thanks for your great videos! You keep me company on my treadmill. 15 inches of snow predicted this weekend so I will be walking inside for a while.
Sounds great! Have you tried our virtual walks, filmed with treadmills in mind! Sarah :)
Love your videos
Welcome back.
Great video and walk! Good to see you both out again! And to see the Detroit Tigers hat representing! April 1st was opening day for the Tigers and it snowed during the game!! Much love, Danny & Mark xx
It's turned colder here took, with snow in the forecast for Scotland - bizzare weather! Sarah :0
Yeah my weekly feel good video, can't thank you both enough for another great video. Can't wait to get down to Cornwall again.
Thank you again, keep safe and well xx😄 see you next week.
Our pleasure! Sarah :)
Very nice video today. Some very beautiful scenery along with cows and horses. The things you explain along the way are so interesting. You look so close to the edge of the cliff sometimes, I admire your courage. Glad you two are out making new videos!
Sometimes we are quite close, say 20' or so but if the wind is blowing on shore, it's ok. And we have good zoom on our camera! Sarah :)
Hi Sarah and Andrew, as always a lovely video with blue and sunny skies and on your first time out too. Been to Mullion Cove quite a few times - its so lovely. All being well, looking forward to getting down to Cornwall towards back end of the year. Really missed out last year as did many others. Many thanks. ❤️
Great video such a stunning walk , thanks for sharing 🙂👍
I walked the coast path from Porthleven to Mullion on Monday, not been down there for years.
This was lovely! And how nice it must have been to get this fantastic weather on your first coastal walk in a while :) I love that you give all those details along the way. I ended up ordering the DVD of "And then there were none" ;-) I am normally not a great fan of crime series, but I can enjoy some of the British series. And Agatha Christie and Aidan Turner is a combination I wouldn't miss :-) thank you! Torunn :)
I hope you enjoy the series Torunn - I think I would quite like to watch it again! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails I believe I will, Sarah :) I have no access to most BBC-series online so I had to buy it :-)
What a beautiful day to start your walking trails, apart from the wind. It was so strong we couldn’t hear Andrews jokes. It looked quite muddy in some of the fields, especially where that poor old cow was stood. Nice walk, but you poor dog never got a chance to dig any holes. xx
Sorry dropped my tablet and it 'sent'. Beautiful scenery as always. 💕
No worries! Thank you! Sarah :)
Ah you got to Mullion. Lovely to see you out exploring near my home. Not covered the Predannack Wollas to Mullion Cove route for a while, so might try that one on Sunday. I have that book and there is some great walks in it all around Mullion and the local history is really interesting.
Fingers crossed for some sunny weather! Sarah :)
Beautiful
Those lower coastal trails don't look so safe, given recent erosion-related landslides. But I can tell, after being cooped-up for so long, u prob wanted to skip dn the lane to do whirlies in the meadow! Then again, the cam mt not take kindly to that, so... Thx 4 another beautiful outing. Stay safe & take care now!
I think the camera always makes the cliff top view look worse than it really is! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails It was so cute, u two were making sounds like little kids do when their parents aren't helping to bundle them up fast enuff to go out & play on the 1st snow day of the season! But yes, u must be right. From our perspective, it seems we're (you're) toes curled over cliff's edge daring it to give! I do think once Andrew got a good look at the size of that land-slip thru his own eyes & not the camera lens, ya'll did back up a bit. Scary as it seems, we luv seeing it, tho.
Nobody about except for the wildlife...👍
So good I watched it twice! Enlighten me on the origins of gate-leaning, pls.
Gate leaning is a little habit picked up from my Dad. When I was a child and we walked as a family and he felt we all needed a rest, he would usually spot a gate with a view and say "Time for a bit of gate leaning?" Perfect excuse to stop and take in the view and fresh air! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails Much obliged - I know yr busy. Great recounting - A wise man, yr pops. I've 1, mebbe 2, pics of my son when young, gate-leaning midst farmland come sunset shortly before Daddy passed (R.I.P.) When I was 5, we lived in a tiny silver trailer on a big mountainside in WV. We used to play a driving-home game upon reaching the farm field prior to our rd. The farmer's grass & clover field was lg, wooden-fenced, enclosed 1 horse, & sat on a steep, rocky decline dn from the dirt/gravel main road. At least once a day, the farmer would walk his pasture's perimeter. Our entire game was guessing if he was out walking when we'd pass by his gate. Upon approach, Dad would ask Mom (R.I.P.) & I, "Is he walkin'?" Before looking, we'd each answer, "yes," or "no." The only prize was the satisfaction of knowing u got it right. A silly, simple game, but a fam trad that I thought would last forever. But the farmer was old even way back then, & as days passed, there were more correct no's than yes's. Then one day, he just stopped walking. If spirit is, I'm pretty sure what his is doing. Thx 4 the listen!
two happy ppl out of lock down WOO HOO ,,,here in OZ we pronounce it "lyken" even tho its spelt lichen and i just took a photo of the exact same yellow lyken easter week end at Port Fairy, Victoria, Australia.
The tumble down wall was probably built as an Art project and not by dry stone wall builders, if they had built it it would have lasted for hundreds of years.
I believe you are right, from memory I think there was some funding given to the guys behind the Man Engine but I think their raw materials were just not up to the job! Sarah :)
The man engine was a great idea, but caused one of Cornwall major mining disasters. Glad you both are out and about again, we will be back in Cornwall late June
I'm not likin" the way you say "lichen"!😅
