Lmao. The Lexus dealer near me is selling for MSRP, all of them are in Houston apparently, from what I've told. Meanwhile, every Toyota in Houston seems to be charging absurd markup. These vehicles are hardly worth the inflated MSRP. Even the new GX.
North side Lexus is a gem. They won’t go below msrp, but they also won’t screw you either. Got my 23GX from them and couldn’t be happier.

lol very funny. Local Lexus dealer not marking up the new GXs. During the plandemic, I saw one dealer marking up 4Runners and one not. The one that was marking them up was where I got mine. I knew I wasn’t shopping there ever again. Now waiting on the 2025 GX. Hope you are right about the deals.

My local dealer in West Palm Beach FL is getting a first edition Land Cruiser in and MSRP is 80k because of options and then they have a 10k mark up on it so they are asking 90k for it. At that point just go get a Lexus GX 550 Overtrail or Overtrail + and save a few thousand. If anyone actually buys a Land Cruiser for 90k they are dumb, realistically and if Toyota was smart the MSRP of the FE Land Cruiser should be 65k-67k and not any more
It seems they didn't learn from their past mistake when they sold the 200 series LC for 85K MSRP

Man once you find out the gx460 has everything the 4 runner has and more why even get a 4 runner....for the hype your on the money with that.
Ok last comment look at used lx570 vs the LC...man if you want to spend 3k yes you can change the lx suspension and you have a land cruiser. So 3 to 5k to do a swap vs 20 to 30k more for a badge.

You may have misspoke @ 2:45 when you said the GX550 has a front locker. I have not seen that ever mentioned, nor is it noted on the GX website. The GX550 only has the center and rear lockers as far as I have seen

Those prices for a 4 cylinder is not worth it. I recently picked up a 2000 LX 470 in excellent shape for a little under 10G., fixing it up for my long travel, and keeping my 88 Toyota truck for the local trails (just a little south of you! Chiriaco Summit area.

This is not gouging. It is supply and demand. If someone is willing to over pay for your house, you would not complain.

Toyota has tried to do this. They don’t have any control over what dealers in the US do. They for sure are not going to stop delivering vehicles.
Almost feels like Toyota is trying to hype this LC because they didnt really do it properly with the 200 series. I also, think this is part of why they didnt bring the 300 here - marketing. If Toyota is really saying that this next LC/GX550 is the next/latest/greatest, I would like to see them vs the old LC200 series/GX460. Lets see what improved.
Im sure there are plenty of people that will mortgage this vehicle if some bank will allow 10 year terms. There is no surprise that these high priced units are being made. There is a market.

Listen, I'm on your side, but why do all the TH-cam video "professionals" reviewing the LC 250 showcase how "awesome" the LC is to drive (on and off road) and how quiet it is, unbelievable handling, etc. And the GX is great, but that's about it. I've been tossing the 550 and 250 back and forth for my next purchase. Curious as to what you think? Is it the hype train?

Actually Topher was the first who mentioned the extra roll on 550 because of no KDSS, this is one bummer, Kirk just drove this 550 at night and he mentioned the vibration at high RPM. Someone else mentioned that the interrior is not up to price level.
I was at my dealership couple of days ago and sat in OT+, didn't drive, just cranked it up. The feel of the interrior is solid, door is closing with fine heavy sound, even the main control panel , to my surprise looks organically embedded and looks good, not going to lie here. But that leather steering wheel is killing it. Compare to 23 460, 550 interrior is not equal, not really cheap looking but definitely not luxury either. GX460 feels like fine wine, 550 is "today house special". Exterior wise, I think that if you are getting 550, get it in dark color, not white.
