    I have been driving uber eats since 2019. Everything your talking about is spot on, especially making over $1.00 a mile and always trying to make $2.00 a mile or more. That's how I do it to. To me , learning when your area is at its busisesest is most important. With a busy time frame and sticking to this video, nothing but success!!

    I wish I could find trips >$1/mile. I sit/drive for an hour or more Declining trip after trip after trip because they're either $4 total or between $0.50-$1 per mile (or both). After sitting in the middle of a surging city for over an hour and declining at least 5 low-paying trips I give up and go home, pissed at the time and miles wasted.

    Wait! You have a different UberEats app. I don’t get quests! And my map doesn’t look like that. And for stacked orders I can see the same information as a standard order.

  • @realJeffrence

    I'm glad you covered these things about Ubereats because I definitely learned these the hard way. The way they present the stacked order is terrible. But one tip that you can use to figure out whether it is worth it is the trip time they show. This can give you a sense of how far it might be. $12 stacked order and estimated time of 40 minutes? Decline!
    I always forget to stop new requests when on my way to a customer's home. It is maddening when Uber sends you an order when you are driving and trying to find the customer's home. I've even had it pop up while I'm trying to take a picture to drop off the food.
    About the insurance piece, I had contacted my insurance company and they told me that since I am only doing this on the side I don't have to purchase additional insurance. They said if the majority of the miles driven on your car is for business use, then yes you need business insurance. That's just my insurance in my area so it could be different with others.

    15 mile trips for 8 bucks is super common here in Central Florida. Many towns here have hubs where the restaurants are located in and the homes are scattered around the hubs. Many of the homes are around 5 to 10 miles away. There's also a lot of lowballing people with the tips, it seems. The active quest thing was something that didn't occur to me, however. I'm on one right now so thanks for that tip!

      On May 11, I was in an accident while driving for Uber eats, and had recently (in March) switched to Progressive Auto insurance and added the Ride Share policy to my auto insurance, since Geico sent me a letter asking me to drop Uber eats or drop Geico. So I dropped Geico. Progressive cut me a check for $2,0000 to pay for the repairs and sent me a letter stating the accident wasn't my fault and were pursuing the other driver for the deductible. I am very much pleased to have the supplemental policy since that's peace of mind and there's no need for lying when you are in an accident. I drive in South Florida and we have crazy drivers.

    QUESTION: MAJOR PROBLEM WITH UBER EATS/MILITARY BASES. There is plenty of money to be made in Jacksonville, NC. However I chased Uber eats to camp Lejune. The welcome center told me they don’t do background checks for Uber there. Go to camp New River, the Air Force / Marine I guess coop down the road. The gentleman there said they don’t allow Uber eats on base because Uber won’t play ball. They gave me the number to a marine liaison and i called and left a message. Waiting follow up. Uber’s app won’t discern between which deliveries are on base vs not on base. I don’t have security clearance. Also the guy at the visitors center said those who are gaming the system with Uber driving and like base access will be weeded out or are being weeded out. Should I just treat each delivery like a normal one...and then ask the customer to meet me at the gate. If they cant should i just mark it as undeliverable?
    I feel like that’s a way to make a bad connection to the guards and restaurants. What about possible deactivation from Uber?

    only one thing: the 58 cents deduction is the average between the person that drives the brand new mercedes super turbo (which value will depreciate a lot at every mile you put on the car) and the guy that drives a $2000 car (which depreciate very little), therefore its not true that on $1 per mile trip you are making no money, it depends what car you drive, in the second case you have to calculate pretty much only the expenses like gas, tires, oil change and repairs, which of course varies depending how many miles you are able to drive, (more miles, less cost), while depreciation is the opposite (more miles driven, more cost)

    • @Just1American1966
      @Just1American1966 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seriously. If you're driving a car that pretty much can't depreciate any further, all you're out is what you actually spend.

    How much more do you pay a month in commercial insurance? From what I been seeing, looks like a extra $150- 200...maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing, help lol

    • @tyharris9994
      @tyharris9994 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't want a straight commercial policy. You want hybrid policy that is a personal policy with sometimes commercial use. You'll have to shop around a bit as not all carriers offer them. When I was delivering pizzas at Dominos in Vegas there was only one insurer in the Nevada that offered the type I was talking about . I'm doing Uber Eats in Texas now and my hybrid split personal / commercial policy is about 100 a month and that's full coverage on a nice newer vehicle. It's like 20.00 more a month at most and the peace of mind is worth it. If you get in wreck and the insurer finds out you were using your vehicle for commercial purposes at the time you are paying out of pocket cuz they ain't paying. BTW I was the only driver at Dominos who had the correct insurance and we were seriously instructed to immediately remove our uniform shirts if we were ever in a wreck. In Texas State Farm sells the one I am talking about. In Nevada it was either Allstate or State Farm I forget which.

      I worked for Domino's off and on over almost three decades. It was just easy extra money to come back to for a long time. We also had the idea that, if any of us were involved in an accident (I was once), they were "on their way home from work as a pizza maker."
      When I was questioned by the carrier covering the stop-sign runner that hit me, I was "returning to the store after dropping coupons off at a local hotel", or something like that.

    Ok so I'm trying to start driving for Uber but for some reason when I upload my license plate and insurance, my registered car keeps on changing to my mom's car. I'm under my parents insurance. Been having like this a few times now. I called for help but the keep on saying that they'll delete my mom's vehicle and so I can add mines into the app but it keeps on doing the same thing. Anyone having the same issues? Frustrating because I'm almost there to drive soon

    • @YourDriverMike
      @YourDriverMike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably has to do with the insurance as you may need to ensure you're an authorized driver under the policy or 'attached' to the policy. It sounds like when they're trying to activate the account they're pulling the info from the insurance hence adding your mom's car.

    Hmm, you mean to tell me that the amount of money flashing on the screen of my phone is supposed to be my profit for taking the order? Because that is a lie, at least in my area. I never get that much. Uber takes a cut of whatever that figure is. If it shows a expected earning of 5 bucks, what Uber actually pays me is may be 3.75-4.00 bucks. Kid you not!

In florida, right now, uber eats is both worse and. Better than door dash. 90% uber eats is garbage 3 or 4 bucks which I dont take, or its 8 bucks for 2 miles, or 15 bucks at. Night for 6 miles. Door dash is more in the middle

    I do not get your videos? Uber Eats does not tell you the amount your delivery will pay nor the tip, NADA. NO! The number you see has no relation to what they are paying. You only get a percentage of that number depending on the perk. So what are you talking about? Do not believe me then you Uber Eat people look at your first delivery of the day and see what it paid.
