Hey Mike, I got a question. I don't currently own a car, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to finance a car for doordash, uber, Etc part-time. Monthly payment about on The car would be about $430. I'm thing about getting a toyota camry 2023-24 with low mileage. Plus I would have no intention of selling this car in the future?

I think it’s a great thing that DoorDash wants you as a dasher to verify with the restaurant staff the customers order at the time of pick up. Customers can claim item’s missing from their order. Finger pointing can start from the customer- dasher / dasher to the customer /&/or restaurant. Remember in the past, dasher wind up paying for customer missing item.
I just did similar with Uber Eats on 10/29, but 12 hours.... also in PGH. I went to pretty much every corner of Allegheny county. Most people tipped which was nice. I only declined when it was less than $2 AND it wasn't already on the way to something else in a stack. Did get one real nice stack of three though, pickups along Greentree Rd in Scott Township and two out of three were dropoffs at the same hotel in Green Tree . Last one was up on Grandview but it made the hour of three come out to a nice $24/hr. I ended the night learning that Uber kicks you off and says get some rest. Also, what's with this thing of restaurants telling you to confirm the order? I have half a mind for the slow restaurants that do that to tell them, "Did I tell you to hurry up? Don't tell me how to do my job, I won't do the same to you."
It's been said a million times, letting the customer get away with a low or no tip order actually hurts the customer, because they will get their order late or not at all.
I’m at Platinum level here in Long Island NY, have 100% acceptance and completion and still get $3 earn by hour trips. Also get sent to every single zone in Suffolk County…. 8 hour average is $150.
Every time I decline some low paying $3-$5 order another one pops up within ten seconds and it’s triple the low offer or higher. DoorDash really makes me mad.
Seems to do this when you are very close to losing top priority or about to gain it. Hear me out. The best way to use these gig apps is to expect not to make any money. I look for 2 dollars a mile, including my trip back to a hotspot. When I have the most success is when I just out running errands with it on in my back pocket. Otherwise, you end up waiting in your car for an hour for something actually good.
The problem with NOT cherry picking to try and up your hourly rate is that you can easily get $20/hr or more at many fast food joints you are going to deliver for. Not to mention you don't put all those miles on your car and thus you dont have to deal with the maintenance costs. Trust me, the tax deduction doesn't even begin to cover the gas and maint on most vehicles. A wheel alignment will cost you up to $200 bucks but those shocks/struts will cost you north of 1200 bucks. These apps know what they are doing. They get paid even when you don't. So is it really worth the time and effort and wear and tear on your car to go for the bonuses on high acceptance rates? I dont think so.
This was a very cool video. You should do more like this. My account got deactivated from Uber Eats because the customer lied when I delivered their food in Dallas Texas. Now I’m new to DoorDash and I’m liking it way better than Uber Eats but cool video though.
It isn’t pay per hour! It is pay per MINUTE. $16.50 / 6o minutes = $.27.5. A minute. It really is a bad choice in most areas. It works really well in rural areas. Especially with several small towns spread across the work area.
I decline EVERY ORDER from Five guys. No matter how much it pays. They don’t start making the food until you get there, and any walk in customers are catered to first. Even if they came in after you.
Depends on the time of day. The ones around me put your order in line as it comes in even with in person orders. I usually am only waiting for fries. And if a new order comes in after you arrive, they are behind you in the cue. So on off hours, I am waiting no more than a few minutes for the fries to cook.
There should be a way to switch dash types without ending your dash entirely to switch. I schedule for 6-10 hrs a day. And if I want to switch from by offer to by time I have to end my dash which kills my entire scheduled time.
@YourDriverMike Hey Mike when cherry picking you recommend to aim for at least $2/mile orders? I always thought it $1.75/mile and at least a $7 dollar payout per order. Meaning if it’s a stacked order of 2 at least $14 a long again with$1.75/mile. Thank you sir for the advice.
I can't do every offer as I live in Chicago and there are unsafe areas. One to the East and one to the West. Are there not any unsafe areas in Pittsburgh that you would not deliver to?
Hey don't knock ordering just a thing of fries! haha As we speak, as a customer, I have a popeyes order on the way with just a pie in it. It's for a DoubleDash where I'm not charged a delivery fee nor a small order fee. Mostly great for me but I imagine the dollar per mile is never amazing on my driver's end.
I constantly see negative comments about contract app delivery, and I wonder how many of them are from ppl who earn decent and simply want to NEG out any new competition... Today, an end of the month Sunday, I earned $32 per hour for 11 hours. "Yeah, but what about expenses..." I drove 123 miles at $0.35 per mile all-in. It cost me $43 to earn $352. I wasn't getting angel offers... I was just accepting profitable offers in busy areas hoping for a stack offer. And stacks just kept happening. IMO, the algorithms like the people who are driving. I'd take a nice paying order a little ways away from any potential next order... and then accept $1 per mile orders just to bring me back with the idea that I could potentially stack it to $1.75 or higher. I don't usually take $1 a mile orders, but I gonna have to drive some of those miles dead anyway, so why not? And I just kept getting stacked. One order at $1 a mile turns into $2+ with a stack offer... yes, please! Dollars to miles, income to cost; this was my third best day ever.
A Wendy’s in my area has started weighing all the food and drinks on a scale at the counter before I get it. A little time consuming. Yes, taking photos of the receipts is irritating and time consuming. A great video.
22:04 absolutely not. We shouldn’t be pouring drinks. Taco Bell never has the drinks ready I have to tell them I need drinks. We shouldn’t be sending receipt photos to the customer. Having the store open a bag? None of the stores I pick up at are going to do that. It will create animosity with the employees. God forbid I ask if they have extra sauce or the like. It’s hard enough to even the get food from some places. If I start making them open bags they will surely remember me. I don’t want that. I want to be a ghost. Some places have crazy ways they seal stuff up. Dunkin’s plastic bags have to be torn open and will require a new bag. My part of this is to tell the store the name or order number. They hand over the order. I take that to address. I’m a bitter old man. Sry.
22:58. You will get more no tip deliveries when doing EBT. That is most of the reason that DD has it, but you will still get tips and I've even had customers tip in cash while doing EBT.
I wonder if cash on delivery is only with pizza places and can any customer do it at.any restaurant and if so is door dash going to expand cod to other retailers
Number of drop offa dont affect your $/mi ratio? If its 12.56 for 5 mi but its 2 drop offs I probably wont take it assuming at least one didnt tip and the non tippers are always an issue for me
It tells you once you've dropped off the order. If the new zone you're in is busy, it'll ask if you want to switch zones. If it's not busy, it'll just tell you you're out of your scheduled zone and that they'll look for offers while you return to your scheduled zone. The area you're in will sometimes be marked in a reddish like net graphic until you reach your scheduled zone. Then, once you're back in your scheduled zone, it'll tell you you've arrived. Lol. Can you tell my metro takes me out of my scheduled zone a lot? 🤣
This week dash time accepting every offer except one 21 .5 hours I made $407 working 20 hours of those at peak busy time except on Monday tri cities tn. Last week 36 hours dash time 12 hours were in the daytime $570.
Ok... all of you have your experience and explain it as a basis or that is the way to run or do door dash... I think it's all about you... I have 100 percent acceptance and 100 percent delivery of 472 in last 24 days right at 3k would've been alot more due to my key not able to start my truck and cost a very nice penny that completely knocked me off the loop. 700 and 900 a week is pretty good to me. And yes that's every order accepted.
One thing i hate about Doordash is getting an order that's far for a good price lile 3-5 miles for +10 or more dollars and then getting a second order for the same distance or further for a much lower amount like 2-3$
Yeah getting change for your bills from the pizza place oh yeah my first pizza delivery was pizza hut got a second order right after the first one then asked them for bag and got a free pizza bag saved me from buying one for door dash for what like 30 bucks
The reason you have to schedule is because your acceptance rate is low. Higher acceptance rates do not have to schedule. They can just go. My acceptance rate is low so I have to do it this way. I hope that helps. It has to be over 50%.
Mike I don't know if you contact commenters directly or not but I'm interested in talking with you about a few issues i have with door dash if I have a valid gripe or not and if it is a valid complaint also i need a few good tips to make a buck with what they're doing to me in my area/market it's Chicago but I'm in suburban area around my residential city
Your problem is you’re so focused on getting good offers normally, that you’re stuck in the lower tier rewards. You gotta get platinum. It has made an insane difference here in Spokane
I've been platinum for 5 months now. They still send me low offers quite often; when I decline it takes my acceptance rate down 1 percentage; is it still the case that you can be deactivated if it falls below 80? Or is it 70, i don't remember.
Made a lot of cash on cash Deleveries in New Orleans and made delivery fees and cash. Never really had change and customer always gave me money on top of

13:36 I have been taking a picture of my door dash bag forever without a problem.
I wanna see you do an UberEats _take every offer_ challenge.... you'll be in Oklahoma with $57 by sundown 😂
Rubbermaid makes a line of catering bags !! And they are really good! I have 3 of them and 1 yr later still doing well
This was a very cool video.
I’ve haven’t see a ghost kitchen yet. Sounds like you had an interesting experience!
I made $90 and also 30+ in tips last night on pizza deliveries... That's definitely my favorite part of dashing
The cell phone to the camera to read your order is common at the ghost kitchens here in Miami
I enjoyed this! Make more of these :D
Always click confirm in the store with the pic requirement being random
I decline EVERY ORDER from Five guys. No matter how much it pays.
They don’t start making the food until you get there, and any walk in customers are catered to first. Even if they came in after you.
Depends on the time of day. The ones around me put your order in line as it comes in even with in person orders. I usually am only waiting for fries. And if a new order comes in after you arrive, they are behind you in the cue. So on off hours, I am waiting no more than a few minutes for the fries to cook.
Love these vids ❤
So since the cash tip was in the offer… do you claim it in taxes or did DoorDash already factor that in?
There should be a way to switch dash types without ending your dash entirely to switch. I schedule for 6-10 hrs a day. And if I want to switch from by offer to by time I have to end my dash which kills my entire scheduled time.
THIS!!!
Why not schedule for a hr at a time? it's what i do and doesn't mess you up to much, at max a 15 min wait and during that time i run other apps.
Yeah Mike you right. I cherry pick and use your 1.50 per mile video you put out while ago
Be safe in Chicago ❤
I had a 1$ offer to take a photo of the menu at a pick up location, was actually burger king
Hey don't knock ordering just a thing of fries! haha
As we speak, as a customer, I have a popeyes order on the way with just a pie in it. It's for a DoubleDash where I'm not charged a delivery fee nor a small order fee. Mostly great for me but I imagine the dollar per mile is never amazing on my driver's end.
The only way to make money on dash/eats is to make videos about dash/eats… this is the sad reality
I constantly see negative comments about contract app delivery, and I wonder how many of them are from ppl who earn decent and simply want to NEG out any new competition...
Today, an end of the month Sunday, I earned $32 per hour for 11 hours.
"Yeah, but what about expenses..."
I drove 123 miles at $0.35 per mile all-in.
I usually work 9am to 10pm on saturdays and Sundays on my off days from work 😂 8 hours ain’t that bad
I got a free pizza bag at pizza hut or something. Cash on delivery isn't worth sweating over. Never had an issue with needing change
I got you beat Mike. Stacked order 4 stops 8 miles $3 😂
Messed up how that’s a real offer. I got my first quadruple stack order this week, hadn’t ever seen that before. 4 shop and delivers.
A Wendy’s in my area has started weighing all the food and drinks on a scale at the counter before I get it. A little time consuming. Yes, taking photos of the receipts is irritating and time consuming. A great video.
Weighing the food is F ing Wild!!
U do this on rideshare ?
Sry.
Wingstop makes dashers fill up the customer’s drinks. Why that is their policy who knows? McDonald’s is the opposite and super seals everything
About every 3 orderes i have to take a picture of the recipt.
22:58. You will get more no tip deliveries when doing EBT. That is most of the reason that DD has it, but you will still get tips and I've even had customers tip in cash while doing EBT.
I've only had a few Rasing Caines & had to pay with the Red Card.
I wonder if cash on delivery is only with pizza places and can any customer do it at.any restaurant and if so is door dash going to expand cod to other retailers
@YourDriverMike , can you share a an image/screenshot of the "Zones" around Pittsburgh & just north of PGH, please?
Do you think you were punished for not taking the Dashlink offer and that is the reason it took 30 mins to get another offer?
@YoyrDriverMike , I'll bet that restaurant that DD asked you to audit has a high number of orders with missing items.
No offense meant, but do you even Doordash regularly anymore? There's like 5 things in this video you seem astonished by that happen almost daily.
What did the triple Wing Stop pay?
Number of drop offa dont affect your $/mi ratio? If its 12.56 for 5 mi but its 2 drop offs I probably wont take it assuming at least one didnt tip and the non tippers are always an issue for me
I have Platinum rating, and tomorrow I worked 15-16 hours, and my check is 150$. I don’t know how people make more money in FL.
@YourDriverMike , definitely would like to see you do a video on Dash Link !!!!!!
You will have to carry a roll of Scotch tape with you to reseal the bag. Oh boy
How do you know when you are out of your zone. When you are active you can't see the map.
@@SimoneFrancesReed ok thank you.
Heck yes you take a Dashlink!
This is the funniest video ever! 😂
It usually asks to take a pic of receipt when you have a stacked order so you don't mix the two up on delivery.
14:02 maybe because there is people that complain a lot and says they don’t get there food
One thing i hate about Doordash is getting an order that's far for a good price lile 3-5 miles for +10 or more dollars and then getting a second order for the same distance or further for a much lower amount like 2-3$
You should have made a dashlink vid (6 hours) and then an 8 hour dash for the vid you'd originally planned. 14 hours isn't terribly difficult.
Can you make a vid where you go on a dash link and tell us about your experience and show us some insight
I was excited for the dash link request
Yeah getting change for your bills from the pizza place oh yeah my first pizza delivery was pizza hut got a second order right after the first one then asked them for bag and got a free pizza bag saved me from buying one for door dash for what like 30 bucks
I’ve never been to Rasin Caine. They don’t have that restaurant here.
12:00 Hope those are 5 fast driving freeway miles
Just started
I had a couple of no tips
Can you see what the tip is before accepting an order?!?!?
Y’all brave with the accept ever offer 🥴😩😩😩😩😩
Idk if I'm doing it wrong or not, but I accept pretty much everything and make 20 an hour. I'm also a platinum VIP dasher with a 95% acceptance.
DoorDash has started to suspend Dasher accounts in California to avoid paying adjustments! Accusing derivers of prolonging the trips!
You just fell into DD’s trap. !!
😂😂😂
In our area you have to schedule the times you want to dash and some times are not available.
@@donnak.8422 You can't get deactivated for a low acceptance rate, completion rate is the one that will get you deactivated if it falls below 80%.
Yes Raising Cane’s faster. Louisiana born yo
Yes do dashlink soon
Made a lot of cash on cash Deleveries in New Orleans and made delivery fees and cash. Never really had change and customer always gave me money on top of
Only do the take everything challenge if you do earn by time
I do not like EBT; it would be different if they were going to pay you for your total time spent waiting for offers too.
