    Yardie, dont let the haters bother you. Great video. One question, do you know the name of the tool to remove the metal fasteners on the splash shield? The head looks like a center circle with three prongs on it. I know we dont need to remove but was just wondering if you knew.

      Blessings G, for this car I only know of two types of fasteners, the plastic type and the metal, the plastic type require a special tool but you can get by with a screw driver and needle nose like I used in the beginning of this video, the metal type is screwed in with either a Phillips of flat screw driver.

    Thanks for the video. quick question, would this same starter also work for a 2014 model? the reason I ask is the type of starter, as well as location, looks to be about the same as a 2014 model

    • @thediyyardie7192
      @thediyyardie7192  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It will fit most models, but I suggest after clicking on the link, you can then select where it says model info and insert your car information to verify..good luck, and you're welcome..

      I cannot get the new started in no matter what I do. The cables cause major resistance. I can get it in without the cables attached but then connecting the cables is impossible. Any suggestions

    • @thediyyardie7192

      @@techguyintahoe it doe's take a little time working it back in, its quite a tight fit, but with all the wires connected and facing towards the bottom of the motor, start the install by pushing the rear of the starter in first, then push back on it while rocking left and right. do that until you get it to the point where you can get the front in, you should be able to get the bolts in once you get it to that point. hope this helps..

      @@thediyyardie7192 You did a fine job there. I know that sure is a difficult starter.
      It looks like the same as the 2014 I did last summer. I took the top down approach. I took the intake manifold out to gain access. I rebuilt the starter because no one had parts. It is still working good.

      @@peterjennen99yes, you're quite right, not to mention working upside-down, but there's usually multiple ways to do a repair, as long as the end result is a fix, much thanks for the compliment on my video, I appreciate you taking the time..

    I replaced the starter but it still clicks …alternator??

    • @thediyyardie7192
      @thediyyardie7192  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Is it just one click sound that you hear each time you turn the key or multiple, if just one click, the new starter is possibly faulty also, if multiply, then something in the charging system, battery/alternator. if just one click sound when key is turned, remove starter and have it tested, starter gear should extend all the way out and spin when starter is grounded and 12V applied to main power connection and solenoid simultaneously..if new starter is faulty, test the replacement to verify it works correctly before install, I encountered this issue with replacement starters multiple times before, keep in touch and let me know how it goes..

      Bro, it don't matter the year and engine size, this could happen to any gas powered engine car that uses an electric starter, it's a very informative video, no need for the negativity..

      @@truthseeker6851 it does matter. Different vehicles different engines different parts different procedures. No excuses

      As far as for parts yes, that you would need specific year, make, engine size, but the main point you're not getting is that this can happen to any gas engine car, not only Honda's, basically if you're having a similar issue with you car, no matter the make, this could be the issue..
