Anytime your battery starts getting pulled down, suspect the starter because it may have a shorted winding and that is a direct short to ground and can discharge a battery pretty fast. I also had my electrical system checked at Honda, today, and everything is OK. I did replace the battery in my CRV last month. I also upgraded it from a Type 35 to a Type 51R. This increased my CCA from 350 amps to over 500 cold cranking amps, a good improvement.

Hold the remote next to the start button as you push it(don't forget to push the brake pedal at the same time). That is what worked for me with this same situation. I changed the battery in the remote and had no more problems. My 2015 CRV is all stock and the remote battery was only 6 months old when this happened.

I've got a very similar problem with my 2015 CRV. It's not that it won't crank ever. It's that it sometimes will and sometimes won't. It may start the very first time, or it may take 30 attempts. This is not what I expected of a relatively new Honda. Since when do you have to replace a starter in anything every few years? I've never had to replace a starter ever on any other car. And I suspect I don't on this either. I bet it's more related to a relay or solenoid. But where is the competent mechanic that actually knows? And where is Honda on this apparent flaw?

Hondas are known to have issues with their starters....

But it could be something else like a loose wire or loose or dirty battery terminals.

Recently encountered a similar problem that u describe with my 2015 CRV. It's early in the diagnosis process & my guess is a module is going bad.

I solved problems with start. Is very simply. If battery is ok check starter relay . This realy is located in the wheel arch on the driver's side.

I got my starting problems fixed, today, at my Honda dealership. It was the starter, a bad winding. It was like playing Russian roulette with the starter. If the starter stopped on the bad winding it would not start. If it stopped on a good part of the winding it started as normal. Mine had the same symptoms as yours - Click and nothing. I had a brand new Honda starter put in. It was pricy but it is fixed now.

After replacing my battery the radio and info display had no power. I have a CR-V 2015. In my case it was a bad 10 amp fuse labeled Back Up - in the fuse block under the hood, bad and the CR-V would not start. I believe a starter fues or relay may also cause a no start issue.

My Honda CRV 2015 does the same thing, took to service center to see if it is battery issue but battery was good. And they claim to perform complete electric inspection to find the root cause. I will post if at all my problem solved.

Any updates my cars shut down three times in the last two days. Took it to auto zone they plugged it up to the machine and said the battery and alternator is fine. They did suggest i take it to Honda because it might be a fuse or electrical problems

    • @praveen_govind

@@Kia805 Yeah took my car to the Honda dealer and they confirmed that it’s a starter fault. After replacing the starter my problem got resolved. My car put on only 51k miles and it’s unfortunate that a key component failed. Dealer says more problem with CRVs and Accord vehicles, overall it costed me $947 to fix ☹️
