    Wrong… But close. Your version does not allow for the deck to be examinable as it would noticeably be missing 12 cards (~25% of the deck)…. Basically you forgot the part where he loads and additional 12 blank cards (which would be the same 12 cards regardless of the deck used).
    Also there is no crimping involved. He simply holds a break. If the selected card were crimped, it would be highly noticeable and also not examinable.
    But you’re on the right track for sure! Don’t give up! Hope this helps!

      @@XCultureEducation having 52 full decks in your clothing gets pretty heavy and the clothing would not move nicely anymore. If you remember pen said we can't examine the cards but was told they could they would have noticed 12 cards missing even if they didn't count them, and if you put the video on pause you can count 52 cards on the table, the secret was in the prop someone fed him the card into the jacket when he lent slightly sideways against the table, then all he had to do was put the card into the pack with a pinky break after touching his jacket.
    Remember we didn't see the table being brought on before the trick and removed after it.

      Buddy, another case might have been that the deck had 64 cards, i.e 51 blank cards and 13 cards with Queue written on it ranging from A to K. Total of 4 decks , so chuck out the 12 cards and you have 52 remaining with the " Trick " card. Although this requires serious practice

    Easier way is that Sanjeev has 51 blank cards. And 52 regular cards with queue written on it, which are hidden inside his jacket at various locations. • @amyv.
      @amyv. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, just the way that he held the cards in the beginning also. Not to reveal their faces at all.

    Very good explanation of a possible method. The only issue I see is when you ditch the remaining Spades. A deck with less than 52 cards might not be considered “observable” to the audience, especially Penn and Teller with a close attention to detail. Whether it is or is not the method used in the original performance this is still a very slick method to produce the same effect.

      Actually they said there was no gimmick with the cards, meaning that it was a regular deck (well, except for the blank part). And that's correct. The whole trick is all about sleight of hand and doesn't rely on any inherent gimmick of the cards. There is no double backs or fishy stuff like that. And if they check the deck after the trick they are going to realize it's only a deck of blank cards with a jack of spades among them, and nothing else. That's what he meant by no gimmicks.

      Try watching the video again, there's no moment where somebody under the table could pass anything. The only place to stay for the assistant would be behind the chalkboard but even that was flipped once. It's much more simple to stick 4 stacks to the rear of foot of the board and select correct deck out of 4 while walking by it.

    I see.. if this theory is correct, it can also explain the way he quickly made his exit after they awarded him.
    My only concern is:
    He would have needed a deck of 64 cards in total(so that there would be no deficit noticeable on table)... And they needed to fit in a box that was of regular size implying there is need for thinner cards.. and this might have been noticed by P&T?

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you watch the original performance again carefully, you can see that he puts some kinds behind the front of the jacket. But in theory, that could be one way to do the trick, too, if you can force the suit (you could have 6 cards on different heights on the left and 7 cards on the right and grab your jacket from suitable height to acquire the missing card. Having 52 different cards accessible fast enough from your jacket would be pretty hard indeed.
