You’re missing the point, surely. The OBD eleven is first and foremost a diagnostic scan tool but with the added facility to change various settings to customise your vehicle. Did you notice how many faults it found on the initial scan. Correcting these faults would have made a much more honest review and given you some insight as to impending problems.
I figured I did something wrong. As I went back and read the description I saw that so it’s ok I’ll have to try it again soon. Thank you for the input though that helps!
For some things to get active you will need to take out the key or 'reboot' the radio. Also the OBD11 changes the coding, if you get rid of your OBD11 the changes you made will stay.
Oh wow I did not know that! Thank you for the input 🤙 I’ll probably just leave everything for now, then get the Pro and start messing with it more in the near future
I feel you! There’s not much we can do with the US GTI models with this device. It stinks but I found a few mods within the video that are decent. Only the euro people get the cool things haha
If i make all these tweaks and then remove the obdeleven from the car for whatever reason and that connect it back, do the tweaks remain or do i lose all the tweaks and have to repurchase??? Anyone?
It will not because once you use the obd11 and you don’t remove them from the app they will stay on your car even if it’s not plugged in. So when you go to tune your car it’ll mix perfectly together and it won’t affect what you have done already. Some of the widgets may actually give you more power with the tune so it’s good to have both.
Hello, please I need your help… I replaced my 2008 vw Eos headlights, and everything is okay but the flashlight not working, can you send me code to activate it, I have OBDeleven next generation pro edition
The OBD eleven is a great scan tool perfect if your working on your car winding back rear brakes for the e brake etc things that only a work shop could do before thats where this tool makes its a must, agree the credits are annoying a pro version is better i havent upgraded to ultimate as not required ive two VWs unless your a garage or own a fleet of VWs. was a good video would say a lot of the coding in the apps does reqiure the car/van not to be running/idle
Dude, you can do the DRL with Fog lights just from your light control switch, you just turn off your lights and then pull back to activate fog lights. You did not have to pay $3 for that at all.
Damn that’s tough haha but it’s ok it’s only $3 at the end of the day so I won’t lose sleep over it but I wish I knew that before. Thank you for letting me know though I appreciate it! 🤙
@@RealSpeed lol in my country, $3 gets you weeks supply of milk and a loaf of bread. It's sad that you guys have to pay for those features, in my country they come standard, like the remote opening and closing of windows and sunroof, remote boot opening, heated seat memory ect. All standard, no unlocking. Makes me wonder, have you guys actually tried these features before unlocking them? Lol sound weird I know but bare with me here. Related fact: The windows opening/closing also works on VW's with auto windows when you use the key in the door lock to open or close the car. So insert key in door handle lock, turn it to lock the door and hold it in close position, the windows and s/roof will start closing. But my MK7 GTI does have key slot I door tho, I'm referring to other VWs that do.
The USA features in cars are terrible. They make you pay so much money to have “all” the features when in reality it’s nothing compared to the production of cars in other countries. We get robbed over with cars in the US and it’s not fun.
I just got my OBD this week, I've done better mods that I don't even see all the youtube vids talk about. On my Mk7 Gti. 1. Flashing brake lights when you do emergency stop. 2. Can now switch off DRL on/off in the menu 3. Smooth linear throttle response 4. Smoothed the pulling off so car is less jerky(I have DSG) And best mod I coded: 5. Automatic closing of windows and sunroof when car is parked and it detects rain. Added this in the menu so can toggle on/off You will need the Pro Version to do the adaptations needed. Doing it via apps/credits is just way too expensive in my country. All the mods I did above would cost 2x what the actual OBDEleven device costs. And I did them in less than an hour. I think that these are the best mods to do as they make the car more enjoyable unlike that cheesy joker indicator mod which just for looks. Being able to switch the DRL off is useful for when I'm chilling at night playing music on the street or if I'm waiting for someone at night, I can park and keep the car idling without attracting attention to myself. Also beside mods, I encourage yall to learn how to use this to detect issues, not just scanning for errors but to check if your timing chain is off or if you have a boost leak ect
It depends, for US users kind of because most of the app is for the euro models but there is a few things you can do that is kind of cool. Worth $100 for the device though? I would say no, maybe $40-50 and that’s about it.
Too complicated. The ARMY taught me K.I.S.S., keep it simple stupid. My 2019 GTI is just the way I got it from the dealer, and I love it. Thanks, RickGTI….. 🌴
There's videos out there with a lot of nice mods you can do. For Exemple, I can activate the awd system so it's always on. No more fwd till it slip for my R. You can play with the Traction control and lot of other things. Definatly worth the money if you have the right car.

Bro bought OBDeleven to find out he needs a service 😅
You had the car running while scanning it, it will get confused. Always use it with the key right before ignition.

@@RealSpeed make sure to make a full backup Incase it gets messed up. You don't want to get your electrical system bugged.
Bought this OBD Eleven to do a few updates but none of the apps are supported on my Mk7 US GTI SE, cant figure out why my MK7 is locked to these mods

No, it changes the coding of the car.
Be sure to save your stock files so if anything happens you can go back to stock.
Dose this work if I have a tune? Like will it effect my tune with any of the response mods?

That exhaust valve only works for golf R and s3
Ahh that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the input! That clears up a lot of confusion lol

Wait do you have to keep it in the port for the coding to stay on the car??
No
@@TrealFOET thanks 👌
Was there any option to install Apple car play?
You need MIB 2 to do that

You could have bought this off of ecs tuning for $105 with a 12 month pro subscription
😩😩 nooooo I wish I did that lol
Thank you for the info though maybe I can use my 30 day return and get that one from ECS
Yeah when I got mine it was around Black Friday. Came with pro and 200 credits. For around 100.
Oh wow that’s a great deal! I paid $95 shipped and I had no pro or credits but at least the add ons aren’t too expensive

It's to change it to where they come on with DRL. You can then keep it on auto without having to change the selector I guess.
In the first place it is a scantool, the feathers to add stuf( long coding) is not always the best thing to do.
I was curious about it
It’s an interesting device that’s for sure lol
@@RealSpeed yea I heard man. Bitike always keep up the 🔥🔥

So it can fully turn off the DRL whenever? Mine stay on even at nighttime and people think I'm high beaming them half the time lol.
2.99 each will cost a lot more if you buy 100 credit or 500 credit.
Sounds like a ripoff
