In my car MIBI 2 and an 8 inch screen are already fully functional. Am I still in need of vcds coding or could OBD11 do the full activation of the new dash once it is installed, like activation of keys and retrieving the original mileage of my car? Maybe it is a dumb question, but things change really fast concerning technologies.

I have heard that in order to change the brake pads you need a tester to release the brakes by commanding the electric motors to depress. Can I do this with this tester without using credits ? Great video. Do you know if you can use this like you would with VCDS scanner to access OBD with a steering column lock actuator fault. There is some trick like pushing the break, turning on hazards, and turning on brights to bypass when using VCDS, but wonder if the same trick would work with OBDeleven.
If you find the procedure, please share it with me and I'll check it out using OBDeleven. But I believe that if it's possible with VCDS, then it will be possible with OBDeleven.

With PRO license you have full access to coding and adaptations. If you know how, you can enable basically everything that you want. If you don’t have PRO or the required knowledge, you can use one-clicks so the app can do it for you.

Yes, you can. Connect with module 42 (drivers door), go to long coding, find options that you are interested in and enable them. Next do the same in module 52 (passengers door).
No, not off the top of my head. Most likely you need to check coding of the module 02-transmission and the steering wheel module, find the MFSW option and enable it.
OBDeleven is a tool like a screwdriver. Using it will not void your warranty automatically. But you can make you car inoperable with it, so don't expect dealers to fix it later on fo free.

App-Connect is protected by a license key generated for a specific VIN. You can not enable it with a simple coding/adaptation change. It's not a DIY job.
Dear Mr Fix. As you may have worked out, I am very new to OBDeleven. Do you or anyone know why I am getting this error "(13) Function cannot be performed, mess length or format incorrect." I get this when I use either Transmission - Basic Settings - Put gear selector in Neutral or Transmission - Basic Settings - Put Gear Selector in Disassemble Position. I am simply trying to remove my mechatronic unit as it is faulty. I doubt the fault is causing the error though as it is an intermittent fault.

Hi, thanks for the very informative video. I need to buy a proper OBDII tool. Is the nextGen, one of the more comprehensive ones, its just there are so many to chose from. I presume i would need the pro version to do the 3 things i would like to do at this moment. 1. Can i program the ECU with new battery info 2. Would you know if the new next Gen will allow me to read the stored data from my VW Golf DSG TCM and then allow me to burn it into a brand new empty replacemnt (or even a second hand TCM unit). I ask because my TCM is intermittant and i need to switch it out. 3. Would it allow me to put the gearbox (mechatronic) into neutral or engineering mode.
1. yes, with PRO you can do it. In Golf MK7 it's done with module 19 (gateway) adaptation if I recall correctly. 2. If we are talking about coding/adaptation then yes. If firmware, then no. 3. I believe this depends on what kind of gearbox you have and which functions are available in the gearbox firmware. Never looked for this option so really can't say for sure.
Hi, Perfect channel. I subscribed. Do you know how to tweak the Dsg 7 speed "dry" so it doesn't switch to gear 2 almost instantly? In my opinion this is killing the Dsg in city traffic, as it tries to go 2nd on less than 7km/h already. If I go manual it doesn't allow even to switch faster than 15kmh. Greetings from Lotwa :)
The most annoying thing, also in 6-speed wet clutch DSG (DQ250). Not only that - you can not shift to back to 1st gear with steering wheel paddles - you need to shift car from D to M, and then pull it to shift to 1st gear. As far as I know there's no coding for that. You would have to tune the gearbox. Also have you noticed that the gearbox is working better when DPF is regenerating? It upshifts at higher RPM but it's not as aggressive as in S mode.
@@mrfixpl yes, I know some workshop offer DSG gearbox tuning, but that's quite pricey... So thought maybe can change something myself. I have petrol TSI rengine. Parents have TDI, but I rarely drive that, I can't comment on DPF regen.
@@umair0006ify you're right. @Pierce, I don't know. You can add your car to the app before buying the OBDeleven device and check what's in the one-click apps section. There's more available within coding/adaptation buy you need to connect to your car first to check what's there.
@@mr.hendricks9976 also don't recommend leaving the OBDEleven plugged in. The OBD port remains active even with the car off/locked, so it'll drain battery.

The device is the same in all packs. Pro and Ultimate just give you mode stuff with the device than in standard pack (PRO license code, credits, some accessories).

Czyli wymaga zmiany lamp. Szkoda, że w R tego nie zrobili z przodu od razu, bo przednie kierunkowskazy masz już na LEDach. Wydaje mi się, że albo musisz zmienić lampy na niefabryczne z dynamicznym kierunkiem albo znaleźć kogoś kto je przerobi.

Also, I have seen on the website that obdeleven includes carvertical. Is it really the case for France and Germany? I would like to use it when buying a used car.
You can just look for clues, but there's no 100% accurate way of saying if car was clocked. You can check automatic transmission mileage in live data, couple more units will also store their own mileage. But if someone knows what to do, he/she will also clock these units. I've used CarVertical but was not entirely happy with it. Not sure if it got any better than the last time I checked.
No. There's no diodes there in MID-LED headlights. The inner one is dummy. You need to swap lights to TOP-LED. In MK7 (pre-facelift with xenons) only Golf R had two working DRL U-LEDs. All other models had one working and a dummy one.

Thanks for the vid. I put the obdeleven next gen in and starting coding etc it then showed me the battery was low. I should have stopped there but I didnt. It then killed my car battery but i never had a battery issue before so did the OBD device kill my batt? Next day after jumpstarted i coded it with my engine on and went good however now struggling to do VIM on it. And im worried to put it in ignition again? Any help please
If I had to guess: your battery was not it that good shape but you have never used ignition on and engine off for that long. OBDeleven doesn't kill batteries.

I have MK7 diesel so can't say how to check cat. And about the real mileage - you can check a lot of things that would indicate that the car is clocked. But if it was done properly, you will not find anything.

If by catalyst you have DPF in mind, then there's number of parameters that you can check that will show you how full of soot and ash it is. Browse though engine live data to check what's available.

Does the “throttle response” tweak actually work? I have my doubts. I have the pro version next gen, but did not see any benefits with this tweak. What do you have to say in your experience. I have a Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI dsg Mqb.
mr-fix mine is a 1.8 with dq200. What I don’t understand is why does it change the steering assistance profile setting that has nothing to do with throttle response.
In VW cars only Discover Pro system have video playback function. Currently there's nothing that you can do to play videos on other system (Discover Media, Composition Media) other than using rooted android phone via Android Auto or hacked iPhone via CarPlay to play videos on the screen.

I believe you need to find and disable option to show current driving profile in module 5F. adaptations. Look for "charisma"

Basically yes. The one in the large case is more universal - it has less functions but it supports a lot of car brands.

In this car (Audi A3 8V) you will have to perform system firmware conversion if EN lang is not available in the MMI menu.

This depends on the car, its control units, and firmware installed in the units. Older ones will show you channel numbers, newer ones channel names.

No, not off the top of my head. Most likely you need to check coding of the module 02-transmission and the steering wheel module, find the MFSW option and enable it.

OBDeleven is a tool like a screwdriver. Using it will not void your warranty automatically. But you can make you car inoperable with it, so don't expect dealers to fix it later on fo free.

App-Connect is protected by a license key generated for a specific VIN. You can not enable it with a simple coding/adaptation change. It's not a DIY job.

Dear Mr Fix. As you may have worked out, I am very new to OBDeleven. Do you or anyone know why I am getting this error "(13) Function cannot be performed, mess length or format incorrect." I get this when I use either Transmission - Basic Settings - Put gear selector in Neutral or Transmission - Basic Settings - Put Gear Selector in Disassemble Position. I am simply trying to remove my mechatronic unit as it is faulty. I doubt the fault is causing the error though as it is an intermittent fault.

Sure. But first you need to fix the problem that the light is indicating.

Golf MK7 is not using groups anymore. You can just browse the list of live data and pick ones that you want to monitor.

Hi, thanks for the very informative video. I need to buy a proper OBDII tool. Is the nextGen, one of the more comprehensive ones, its just there are so many to chose from.
I presume i would need the pro version to do the 3 things i would like to do at this moment.
1. Can i program the ECU with new battery info
2. Would you know if the new next Gen will allow me to read the stored data from my VW Golf DSG TCM and then allow me to burn it into a brand new empty replacemnt (or even a second hand TCM unit). I ask because my TCM is intermittant and i need to switch it out.
3. Would it allow me to put the gearbox (mechatronic) into neutral or engineering mode.
1. yes, with PRO you can do it. In Golf MK7 it's done with module 19 (gateway) adaptation if I recall correctly.
2. If we are talking about coding/adaptation then yes. If firmware, then no.
3. I believe this depends on what kind of gearbox you have and which functions are available in the gearbox firmware. Never looked for this option so really can't say for sure.

Perfect channel. I subscribed. Do you know how to tweak the Dsg 7 speed "dry" so it doesn't switch to gear 2 almost instantly? In my opinion this is killing the Dsg in city traffic, as it tries to go 2nd on less than 7km/h already. If I go manual it doesn't allow even to switch faster than 15kmh.

The most annoying thing, also in 6-speed wet clutch DSG (DQ250). Not only that - you can not shift to back to 1st gear with steering wheel paddles - you need to shift car from D to M, and then pull it to shift to 1st gear.
As far as I know there's no coding for that. You would have to tune the gearbox.
Also have you noticed that the gearbox is working better when DPF is regenerating? It upshifts at higher RPM but it's not as aggressive as in S mode.
@@mrfixpl yes, I know some workshop offer DSG gearbox tuning, but that's quite pricey... So thought maybe can change something myself.
I have petrol TSI rengine. Parents have TDI, but I rarely drive that, I can't comment on DPF regen.

Sadly, no. Rev limiters are hidden deep inside the ECU maps AFAIK.

Unfortunately no. Even if, BT range is limited. But there are 3rd party solutions that work with OEM key fobs.

Jeżeli chodzi o dynamiczne kierunki, to tego niestety nie zrobisz kodowaniem. To jest ograniczone sprzętowo. Czyli wymaga zmiany lamp. Szkoda, że w R tego nie zrobili z przodu od razu, bo przednie kierunkowskazy masz już na LEDach.
Wydaje mi się, że albo musisz zmienić lampy na niefabryczne z dynamicznym kierunkiem albo znaleźć kogoś kto je przerobi.

I would like to use it when buying a used car.
You can just look for clues, but there's no 100% accurate way of saying if car was clocked. You can check automatic transmission mileage in live data, couple more units will also store their own mileage. But if someone knows what to do, he/she will also clock these units.
I've used CarVertical but was not entirely happy with it. Not sure if it got any better than the last time I checked.

Hello! Can I activate inner LED DRL on a Mk7.5 Golf headlight with OBDEleven?
No. There's no diodes there in MID-LED headlights. The inner one is dummy. You need to swap lights to TOP-LED.
In MK7 (pre-facelift with xenons) only Golf R had two working DRL U-LEDs. All other models had one working and a dummy one.

Thanks for the vid. I put the obdeleven next gen in and starting coding etc it then showed me the battery was low. I should have stopped there but I didnt. It then killed my car battery but i never had a battery issue before so did the OBD device kill my batt? Next day after jumpstarted i coded it with my engine on and went good however now struggling to do VIM on it. And im worried to put it in ignition again? Any help please
If I had to guess: your battery was not it that good shape but you have never used ignition on and engine off for that long. OBDeleven doesn't kill batteries.
Buy a battery charger, those cost around 30€ and are totally worth it.

And about the real mileage - you can check a lot of things that would indicate that the car is clocked. But if it was done properly, you will not find anything.

If by catalyst you have DPF in mind, then there's number of parameters that you can check that will show you how full of soot and ash it is. Browse though engine live data to check what's available.

About the ACT/COD - I don't see a way to disable it with coding or adaptation change, so OBDeleven will not be able to do it. Only solution that I found was via ECU remap.

Does the “throttle response” tweak actually work? I have my doubts. I have the pro version next gen, but did not see any benefits with this tweak. What do you have to say in your experience. I have a Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI dsg Mqb.
AFAIK the difference is clear in smaller engines (1.4, 1.5) combined with DQ200 DSG transmission.
mr-fix mine is a 1.8 with dq200. What I don’t understand is why does it change the steering assistance profile setting that has nothing to do with throttle response.

In VW cars only Discover Pro system have video playback function. Currently there's nothing that you can do to play videos on other system (Discover Media, Composition Media) other than using rooted android phone via Android Auto or hacked iPhone via CarPlay to play videos on the screen.

Same with screwdriver or any other tool. If you mess with it you will void warranty.
