    Might I suggest you make a document of your stock settings and then also all of the OBDELEVEN changes you make during your vid. Basically a 'before and after'. Then list the link for the doc. Would increase the value of your vids tremendously.

    I tried implementing this today following your steps - almost still works this way.
    Only difference was that I had to switch step 2&3. So that would be changing the ACC to Audi and only then was I able to change the Engine Byte 00 from Hex 09 to Hex 02. Otherwise, it just wouldn’t let me overwrite it.
    These changes in combination with adjusting the Haldex pretty much gave me a new car. I’m very pleased with the results! Thank you!

    Thanks a lot for this very helpful tip.
    If i may add something: i own a european Manual gearbox Golf 7.5 R ( 01/2018 ) and even if the byte 00 coding
    was not the same as yours ( 09 19 00 12 24 46 05 0B 30 04 ), i used the IOS OBD11 Longcoding function to change
    from HEX 09 to HEX 02 value the same way you described it ( Bit 0-Bit 3 to Bit 1 ) and it worked perfectly, no need
    to change the VW to Audi cruise control coding, BUT:
    It created two errors ( steering column and ACC ) after i checked... All i had to do was to quick erase these errors
    and it never came back. A wonder !
    I have then driven the car in an overcrowded city, could activate the cruise control when Front Assist and ACC
    were flawless !
    Thanks a lot again, you made me spare 15.000 $ not to buy an Audi S3 :-)
    Best regards from France

    Thanks for this - worked perfectly in my 2017 Passat R-Line*, with the minor variation that the ACC changes weren't actually necessary or seemingly even possible, and continued to work without any fault. I did already have the "Last distance selected" setting though so I suspect the component or coding may have already been more in line with what Audi uses.
    Didn't give me any errors other than the same momentary "Brake booster limited" one or whatever it was, which didn't reoccur after the initial setting.
    Results in regular mode are nice. Definitely a bit less rough off the line and doesn't punch you in the face as soon as the boost comes on, a bit more graceful and whooshy while still retaining the same overall power. Worth it by itself, and I would have been happy with that alone.
    In Sport mode, wow - different car entirely. It automatically disables stop-start while you're using it rather than making you use the button, holds the revs higher while you're stopped for noticeably less lag when you set off and takes you off the line way faster - launch control or not. It doesn't even sound the same, it has sporty little growls on the downshifts that it didn't have before and actually seems to manage some legitimate growls when you rev it stationary.
    Honestly, I suspect the VW profile on this particular car was nerfed HARD in order to not talk people out of an Audi.
    *B8 - i.e. more like an Arteon than the weird NMS Passat the US gets

    On my '17 Alltrack I set throttle response to Linear and Engine code to Audi. It certainly woke the engine response up more, a noticeable change. Have the Neuspeed Power Module too, so combo's for a poor mans tune.
    I did not have any issues or errors with my ACC keeping it with Brand-Logic VW. Setting it to Audi DID deactivate it and give errors however. Odd.

    Tried these tweaks myself. Mind you I am JB4 tuned but I’ll save you some time and say that the changes are very minor. It felt like boost came on with less throttle when I changed the throttle remapping to linear but I wouldn’t say that the car felt completely different or anything. As for changing the engine code to “Audi” logic I noticed no difference. Again, I am JB4 tuned so what I feel may be completely different from a stock car or a flash tune.

    3. Under “Control Units” then “Adaptive Cruise Control” then “Long coding” then change “Brand_logic” to “Audi” to eliminate any error codes/any problems with active cruise control

    It generally works, but Audi setting eliminates some ACC functtion, predective speed limit display and distance warning in front assist. I don’t feel any throttle improvement when setting the engine to Audi. Setting module 44 to linear does the trick and increase the consumption as well. When I change the engine to Audi the consumption decreased to normal. No throttle improvement. Vw tig allspace 2.0 tfsi 22.

    At 4.55 in you video you talk about changing the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control - Control Unit/Module 13) to Audi ... how do you do this I can not find any setting in that module to be able to do this? I have traffic sign recognition working in my car with sign speeds displayed in my dash but no overspeed warning or being able to set warning on multimedia screen (have a 2020 MK7.5 Golf R fitted with Discovery Pro Navigation/Audio system - Australia model car - Final Edition). I have however found two settings in Long Coding which are currently deactivated ... 'Speed_Limit_assistent' and ' Traffic_Sign_Detection'. Love your videos very well done and informative ... not like some who do not talk at all and do things so quick forever going backwards etc. to see what was done, and even then some things can't see as fingers in way. Anyhow new to this just bought this car new in August 2020 and my OBD11 about 3 weeks ago and still learning.

  • @Krispy95

    Changing the throttle responsiveness was one of the first OBD eleven tweaks I did. Last night, I changed the engine responsiveness to Audi thru the app section which was 10 credits. Is this the same thing you did, but you long coded it? I turned it off without trying it out because I read that ACC won’t work and it will throw errors. I have a 2018 Golf R manual Cobb protuned. So I wonder if I will even feel a difference?

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s why I didn’t use the app. Long coding manually plus cruise logic change makes it work with no errors. Yes you’ll feel it. That’s why I made the video.

    • @Krispy95
      @Krispy95 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Netcruzer RC TECH CARS oh ok. So In my case. I just have to long code to change to Audi increases responsiveness and long code to change the ACC to Audi too, right? I don’t have a DSG and I already turned on increased throttle response thru using credits.
      Obviously, I know you can feel a difference. But I’m wondering if I WILL feel a difference since I’m far from stock. I read some saying they didn’t feel a difference, but I still wanna try it out.

    • @Krispy95
      @Krispy95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Update: all I had to do for me was change the ACC to Audi and Engine responsiveness to Audi. Everything works fine. I can feel a slight difference when I accelerate. But I don’t think it’s as big as a difference since I’m not stock. Works though 👍🏼. Thanks

    Thank you for doing your homework and sharing the results. I had done this previously but only used step 1 (No audi code change). I felt a difference but didn't like it. Might try again. By the way, have you played with the increased traction (haldex) mod and disable xds? first change seems to increase haldex response and makes it seem more awd. Steering feels heavier too but not sure it's a placebo. Latter change disables rear braking when turning (I did this to save rear pad life). Would like your opinion on this if you get it done. 👍

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not adjusted haldex settings. I’ve heard it has a significant effect on economy due to added drag of AWD system.

    • @Reptil33
      @Reptil33 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@netcruzer I've had it on for about 900 miles or so. I can't confirm if it's drastic enough. My mpgs range from 18-24mpgs, it's all dependent on how spirited my drives are. You may like it, there's an improved feel entering longer sweeping corners off/part throttle (I dont drive aggressively on the roads to avoid attention). Has a reduced fwd feel to it. Conversely, the settings can be adjusted so haldex is weaker and delayed and in combination of disabling rear brake (drag on each wheel) mid corner to improve MPGs.

      It's subtle, but I definitlely could notice it on my turbocharged VW. Even more with a Stage1 tune.. so much initial throttle now that it's hard to smoothly accelerate I might revert back to stock throttle logic.

      @@LayMamaHoMah I did skip the 3rd part as non-DAP cars wont have the ACC control unit. I suspect the brand logic has to be changed somewhere else for normal cruise, just not sure where it is located. Also I don't think the "driver profile switchover" setting has anything to do with throttle response, more likely linked to drive mode changeovers.

    Great tips! I have a question for you, where did you find the information for the Audi Engine coding (Byte 00 with Bit 1 selected = Hex 02)?
    I know you have a 2018 mk7.5 Golf R, and I am trying to code a 2019 GTI. The default engine code of my car is the same as yours (Byte 00 with Bit 0 and Bit 3 selected = Hex 09) I just want to make sure I am looking in the correct place. I tried your coding, and I did receive a Cruise Control error that I couldn't resolve, so I had to put the engine code back to default. Thanks in advance!

    Hi, Folks. I was trying this stuff on my 2016 MK VII Golf R WITHOUT ACC. I couldn't get the regular cruise control working with the Engine coded for Audi. I was able to get the Driving Profile Switchover changed from "Incremental, controlled over time" to "Direct: controlled over threshold value" and also got the Engine Vibration Reduction "Deactivated". But when I coded the Engine for Audi, the cruise control went wonky. Anyone have any thoughts on a non-ACC-equipped model? Thanks!

  • @hansoo

    2018 Golf R MK7.5 - I tried this and I was able to code 44-Steering Assist (Direct: Torque controlled over threshold value), and 01-Engine (switch to Audi) but I was not able to code ACC as mine is called 13-Auto Dist. Reg and it did not have brand_logic in long coding or adaptations. Likewise for 03-Brake I did not find Starting Vibration Reduction. That being said I got no errors and cruise control worked, not sure about the ACC as I didn't want to follow the one car on the highway as it would be weird. But no codes. Overall I'm loving it. So much nicer pedal to torque feel. I'll test launches later. I did get the dynamic road signs warning options in the Nav car settings and I am able to adjust my cruise control in increments of 1 mph. I'll look for rough road optimization.
