Also, how he tried taking her sunshine by announcing his mistresses pregnancy just as the show started. She has not complained once and just got on with it. Her confidence has grown so much over the course of this series. This performance was AMAZING. I don't know where she has found her strength. What a woman.
She'll have the last laugh...as they say , you can't build your happiness on someone elses unhappiness. Hopefully her career will now soar and her ex's relationship with his 3 kids will never be the same. How you can walk out when your youngest child is only a few months old is pretty bad. All power to you Helen...you have shone!

Dance of the series. It was a couples choice so anything goes so for Craig to say it had to totally Fosse was wrong. What did they judge Fleurs couples choice on - it was so freestyle it was difficult to critique.

Some Strictly dances stick in the mind forever, and this is one of them. Helen came into the competition after having all her confidence and self worth stripped from her by her scumbag ex husband. She saw herself as perfunctory. But with Gorka’s help, she’s clawed back so much of her self esteem that she could do this, to one of the most powerful “f*** you” break up songs. For me, it wasn’t so much a dance as a catharsis, flushing out every last remnant of pain, hurt and self-pity, and replacing it with defiance and a soupçon of “look at me, I’ve still got it and you lost me!” Good on yer, Helen!

She sorted it out and they got kicked out. I was in year 9 and we started to do dancing in PE and i joined in and did a performance in the Kirkby suite and it was a F... You to the bullies without swearing

Holy shit the Fosse choreography in this looks deceptively easy but it's harder than it looks and she pulled it off so well! Might be one of my favourite dances of the series period, and I've been rooting for Molly for most of it. Go Helen! I honestly think this is a huge transformation for her, and good for her!
Exactly had lessons with A judge who now is based in la and a fosse piece nearly killed us. Because it is so simple looking but so hard to master and you use so many more muscles than you think you ever would.

They should have won the glitter ball. When she started she couldn't dance, that dance to Mein Herr was brilliant! From nothing to the dance was nothing short of a miracle. Well done Gorka!

Score: 10 YESSSSSS!!!!!! One of the best couples choices ever! This was robbed of a 40! This was my type of Couple's Choice, just quality fosse dancing, every movement, even when she was sitting down,had something to think about! She absolutely held her own with the backing dancers, which no one else did tonight. This was Helens way of sticking two fingers up at Ritchie and saying f*** you. Absolutely immaculate! Probably best dance of the series!
Absolutely gob smacked. Such an iconic dance in the film and she smashed it. She’s a tv presenter with no dance experience. Just incredible. Definitely a 40.
She didn't need to prove a point though (even if she did do it so bloody well), to me it was more of a look you haven't broken me, look how much I've moved on and grown stronger without you. Wasn't Gorka crawling on his knees all submissive to the all powerful emblematic too?! Very very clever choreography which truly let Helen shine!
I met her in Lanzarote airport this year and told her she was amazing in strictly. She was flying home on her own with her kids. We were all getting burger Kings. Wish I had have told her how much of an inspiration she was. I got star struck and I've met bigger stars. Just love her ❤️
I think sometimes Craig forgets that these are amateurs. She learnt this in like 3 days, of course there might be some teeny tiny little thing that isn’t absolute perfection but she’s a novice dancer and that was bloody good
Yes, between his "flaws" for this and Molly's, he's just searching for any little flimsy excuse, and it's kinda frustrating. Sure, they need to be pushed, but this should be judged as an amateur performance, and besides, we're near the finals, and if they pushed themselves really hard, they should get the score they're due.
even astaire, kelly, charisse, minelli & hayworth made mistakes!! helen & gorka obviously should have got 40 tonight but vague craig is saving his 10 for them in the final!!!
Yet he made sure Fleur got 40 for basically mimicking Beyonce in a wildly predictable showdance. This was utter class and deserved 4 10's. Oh well.... atleast the public gets to vote at the end...not Craig.

I do think they deserved a 40 but I'm so tired of people hating on Craig - he has high standards even if they are amateurs and his critiques are always correct (haters gonna hate but they are). The dancers really benefit from his tips and come out stronger from them.
Have to agree, it’s up there as one of the best dances. I’m not easily impressed and my jaw dropped and I was Bob smacked for a while. I always had Faye’s Charleston & Claudia’s Charleston as stand out dances, this went above and beyond.

Or Karims jive which for me is another of the shows greatest moments..
I used to dance in the Musical "Fosse"...we rehearsed for weeks and weeks, because Bob Fosse's choreographies are so particular. All kudos to Helen for that, she did spectacularly well!!!
The way gorka stood back and let Helen have her moment was genius. I must admit so far I thought Helen was great but faded into the background a bit. But Blackpool was like her butterfly moment. And this week she was just...wow....how that wasn't a 40 I will never know. This was truly the dance of the season. And the extra middle finger to her ex was the icing on top. You could feel her regaining that power as the dance went on.
I couldn't agree more with what you said. I've watched this so many times now and still don't "see" Gorka in it. Love how he kind of dimmed into the back ground. Was his submissive crawling actually a subliminal message to Richie too I wonder? Helen is the star here for sure. Her confidence and strength has grown quietly from week to week and I hope she gets to the final and even wins. If not this dance will always be one for victory in strictly's history anyway
One of the best performances I've ever seen on Strictly. Amazing choreography, and I really need to have Gorka Marquez serving Fosse in every day of my life. Outstanding.
I don't usually comment but I just wanted to say that growing up in the early 2000s Helen was the first woman on TV I saw with such power and strength (anyone who saw her challenges on Blue Peter will know) - so to see her grow in confidence again and smash this routine made my heart sing. Love you Helen!
Exactly! Helen was a power woman of my childhood. To see her so emotionally crushed but to then rise back up and regain her strength and remember her worth... Beautiful! 🤩
I'm honestly not a great 'dance fan', but this was magnificent, with very clever choreography and impeccable timing. When the shine of his new 'love' has worn off and the tedium of nappies and daily life becomes ever more overbearing, Mr. Myler can watch this and wonder, "What on earth have I done?"

I do agree with Craig’s comment on using her centre core BUT in saying that- this deserved a 40. The DIFFERENCE from week one, the dedication to this dance and finding herself again after her divorce- 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 she’s done herself so proud! Also the line “you’re better without me” during this musical number, the perfect bye bye to her ex. Queen shit!❤
you obviously have lots of dance / gymnastics experience, I dont so I could not see anything wrong with the performance like the other 3 judges. I just love watching dancing, it has a feel good feeling to it. If you are a dancer, is it the same feeling or more. My late Mum loved her sequence dancing and did this up to 89 years of age.
Ah lovely Helen Skelton, always seemed fearless and gave everything 100 % whatever she was doing. What a perfect role model for youngsters, and this was an outstanding performance, worthy of a glitter ball indeed. Gorka is also lush.
You should have seen her climbing up and down a large piece of scaffolding in 'A League of their Own', after most of the tough he-man chaps bottled out. When asked about it, she just said "I'm a farm kid".

Um sorry this is rubbish - she stumbled coming out of the floor drop when she was crouched on hie back, there was a mistake in the line with the pro dancers and she has totally different shaping to Gorka in many of the side by side figures

Agree, do not understand how Craig thought fluers couple choice was worth a 10 and this was worth only a 9. For me this was the best couples choice dance to date.

This was the best dance of all time for me, Helen oozed sex and confidence, completely smashed it and she deserves to win this, she has gone on the journey, her confidence was gone and Gorka has brought it back, they are both amazing xx

It starts off slowly, picks up the pace as it goes and then sweeps you off your feet like a force 12 hurricane. Genuinely, one of the greatest performances in Strictly history and one of the very few times I've given a standing ovation from my living room.
Best couples choice in ages! Fabulous attitude from Helen, I hope her and Gorka go all the way and win this thing. Should have been 10’s across the board!
Helen kind of went under my radar, until her Quickstep in Blackpool. And now this! Firstly, what a glorious two finger salute to her ex :) Now onto the dance ... despite looking subtle and easy, Fosse choreography is bloody hard. Even when you are standing still there is something that your body is supposed to be doing, and the amount of control required is off the chart. I thought Helen did a great job. Really 'clean' dancing, her splits were sharp, her posture was great, she hit all the highlights with precision and fully committed to the routine. One of the few routines from this series that I will go back to and re-watch. Gorka also deserves praise for the routine and for keeping Helen in the spotlight. He placed a lot of trust in Helen to carry the dance, which she did admirably. Well done.

This was amazing. Helen's come such a long way; I think out of everyone left she's had the strongest journey. If you think back to about mid-way through where she didn't believe in herself to now, she's unrecognisable. I'm so glad for her that she's found herself again. She's also upped her game massively these last couple of weeks; she might come out of nowhere and snatch the glitterball... but I honestly couldn't call it, they're all great and I'd be happy if any one of them won.

I used to dance in the Musical "Fosse"...we rehearsed for weeks and weeks, because Bob Fosse's choreographies are so particular. All kudos to Helen for that, she did spectacularly well!!!

The way gorka stood back and let Helen have her moment was genius. I must admit so far I thought Helen was great but faded into the background a bit. But Blackpool was like her butterfly moment. And this week she was just...wow....how that wasn't a 40 I will never know. This was truly the dance of the season. And the extra middle finger to her ex was the icing on top. You could feel her regaining that power as the dance went on.
I couldn't agree more with what you said. I've watched this so many times now and still don't "see" Gorka in it. Love how he kind of dimmed into the back ground. Was his submissive crawling actually a subliminal message to Richie too I wonder? Helen is the star here for sure. Her confidence and strength has grown quietly from week to week and I hope she gets to the final and even wins. If not this dance will always be one for victory in strictly's history anyway

The best thing about this partnership was as well as learning to dance, Gorka made Helen realise her worth and love herself again.
I don't usually comment but I just wanted to say that growing up in the early 2000s Helen was the first woman on TV I saw with such power and strength (anyone who saw her challenges on Blue Peter will know) - so to see her grow in confidence again and smash this routine made my heart sing. Love you Helen!

I do agree with Craig’s comment on using her centre core BUT in saying that- this deserved a 40. The DIFFERENCE from week one, the dedication to this dance and finding herself again after her divorce- 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 she’s done herself so proud! Also the line “you’re better without me” during this musical number, the perfect bye bye to her ex. Queen shit!❤
you obviously have lots of dance / gymnastics experience, I dont so I could not see anything wrong with the performance like the other 3 judges. I just love watching dancing, it has a feel good feeling to it. If you are a dancer, is it the same feeling or more. My late Mum loved her sequence dancing and did this up to 89 years of age.
This felt like the entertainment break part of the show and they were a West end show showing their new tour. Sensational!

Ah lovely Helen Skelton, always seemed fearless and gave everything 100 % whatever she was doing. What a perfect role model for youngsters, and this was an outstanding performance, worthy of a glitter ball indeed. Gorka is also lush.
You should have seen her climbing up and down a large piece of scaffolding in 'A League of their Own', after most of the tough he-man chaps bottled out. When asked about it, she just said "I'm a farm kid".

Um sorry this is rubbish - she stumbled coming out of the floor drop when she was crouched on hie back, there was a mistake in the line with the pro dancers and she has totally different shaping to Gorka in many of the side by side figures

It starts off slowly, picks up the pace as it goes and then sweeps you off your feet like a force 12 hurricane. Genuinely, one of the greatest performances in Strictly history and one of the very few times I've given a standing ovation from my living room.

Helen kind of went under my radar, until her Quickstep in Blackpool. And now this! Firstly, what a glorious two finger salute to her ex :) Now onto the dance ... despite looking subtle and easy, Fosse choreography is bloody hard. Even when you are standing still there is something that your body is supposed to be doing, and the amount of control required is off the chart. I thought Helen did a great job. Really 'clean' dancing, her splits were sharp, her posture was great, she hit all the highlights with precision and fully committed to the routine. One of the few routines from this series that I will go back to and re-watch. Gorka also deserves praise for the routine and for keeping Helen in the spotlight. He placed a lot of trust in Helen to carry the dance, which she did admirably. Well done.
I couldn't agree more. Helen went under my radar a bit too even though Gorka is one of my favourite pros. I loved her paso, even though the nerves got the better of her a bit, and since then I've loved watching her improve and blossom.
This for me was the dance of 2022 absolutely brilliant.

This was amazing. Helen's come such a long way; I think out of everyone left she's had the strongest journey. If you think back to about mid-way through where she didn't believe in herself to now, she's unrecognisable. I'm so glad for her that she's found herself again. She's also upped her game massively these last couple of weeks; she might come out of nowhere and snatch the glitterball... but I honestly couldn't call it, they're all great and I'd be happy if any one of them won.
I loved this dance. I had been waiting for this; as I knew Helen could do something like this dance if she’d stay in strictly long enough and we got it with this performance. She was a star, such a strong routine and Helen has transformed she should be proud! Well done Helen🖤🪩
