I agree completely. I think Craig was out of line here because he says it was too perfect but for me I don't know how this was 'too' perfect it is not worthy of a 10. Yes, of course I will say with Fosse it is renowned that with this style it does look at achieving minimalism at times and at times he is trying to make it on the verge of it being a little bit effortless (I think back to moments like Big Spender from Sweet Charity where there really is little to no movement and the excitement of that routine is when the movement does happen). HOWEVER, what Craig was describing was something that is of a pro level and the thing we must remember is that Sarah is not that. Yes of course, she might have some dance experience (which the papers have hounded her with) but she has admitted this is not dance experience she has had for some time and she is not a professional in this style so if it was me, I would have given it a 10 given it is perfect.
This lady is 53 years old and is dancing with people half her age. She is also dancing with the amazing Vito Coppola. Shirley Ballas has commented on what a strong dancer Vito is. Yet there Sarah is, holding her own with them all and never looking like any allowances need to be made for her. She's astonishing.

There’s also help taken for Argentine tango, Charleston etc. Usually the dances that aren’t within the traditional 10 dance list take help from guest choreographers! Vito has full on choreography no doubt but give credit to those behind the scenes too
He did not choreographed that - Beth Honan did. Fosse style is very specific - my problem with Vito is that he makes everything about him . When he talks , dances . It should be about the celeb not him . He looks manic, tone it down.
Absolutely stunning! Though I expected Tasha’s dance to be the best of the night, this pipped it for me…..loved it as much as I loved the similar styled Helen & Gorka routine, both were for me the dances of their respective series. Sarah is certainly giving Tasha a run for her money!
Should of been the first 40 of the series! Sarah is such an inspiration and Vito is an great teacher! One of the best things I've seen on strictly! Some of Sarah's other dances are in the all time best top ten performances as well; her Harry Potter Viennese Waltz, American Smooth, Paso Doble and Argentine Tango!
Holy hell!! This is amazing!! This is one of the best dances I have ever seen on Strictly! I love Fosse! And Sarah looked like an actual professional! This is like a better version of Helen Skelton's Fosse! That choreography is a masterpiece and Sarah didn't fumble any of it!! Spectacular ❤ Sarah and Vito should win this year (although i suspect that will be Chris and Dianne) This dance is incredible 🎉 Side note: Bob Fosse choreographed both 'sweet charity' (1969) and Cabaret (1972)...so the comparisons are obvious with this dance and Helen with Gorka, as Fosse inspired both 😊

@crockkett every single year there's at least one with 'theatre school' training- that's very different to SCD...commercial dance IS different. But, how many winners in 20 years are COMPLETE novices? In this season alone, Tasha Ghouri is a dancer, and JB has experience. It's hard blocking experience- all theatre schools do dance.

Bob Fosse would have loved that routine. Sometimes less is more even on stage. Chicago doesn't have flashy dancing but it's spectacular on stage regardless.

Entertaing, tight and theatrical. Repetitive and simple so as much as a routine, not enough step challenges but loved it. Loved the miranda galloping pose and shes just terrific all round
aha Vito said he'd try to incorporate a gallop but I can't believe he actually did it !! Can you let me know what time frame it's done in, I can't spot it for some reason 😅

I hadn’t even picked up on the galloping pose until you pointed it out! (And I’m a HUGE Miranda fan!!) I simply thought it was a Fosse reference that I wasn’t picking up on, as I’m less familiar with his style of choreography. Thank you for mentioning that!!
@ When I first watched the dance, I thought it was simply a slight variation on an appel, from a paso doble, done a la Fosse. But after rewatching it (and rewatching a Miranda clip or two), I *do* think that this was the hidden gallop we were promised! Good eyes!! :D

Score - *10!!!* Girl u came to dance but u performed instead!!!! Love everything about this routine, always favour Jazz as a couples choice pick but the modern twist on this made it even better. The Yes & references absolutely sold it for me massive Ari fan here bring on wicked wooo haha, the synchronisation made it all come together, the Paso highlights were stunning, all the Fosse references fully extended and characterized, really just perfect there's no way it could have went any more perfect than it did, it was unique, statement and stylish, her Argentine and this will hold a special place in my heart for dances this year!!
Mixture of 60s inspired jazz/Ariana Grande type fashion. Bob Fosse mixed with ‘Yes And?’ Choreo. Very stylised and synchronised. Perhaps too placed as a unit? I see what Craig meant. It was like a group dance rather than Sarah shining with backing dancers supporting her. I did enjoy it but I can see why Craig had his opinion. Personally, I love seeing Bob Fosse-esque Jazz routines on the show 😅
Unique, uplifting, captivating, what’s not to love. Craigs remark, it was too perfect was downright silly. Just shows for me, that he wants to be outside the pack.
Absolutely sensational! Absolutely my winners but I'm certain Chris & Dianne are going to be the actual winners. I'm not a huge fan of the couple's choice as a rule, I think they should have a week where all the couples do their choice & keep all the other weeks for the specific dances but I'd far rather see something different & original like that than the seemingly identikit contemporary, barefoot, flowing chiffon dances that so often crop up. LOVED IT and then some!!!
I do understand why it didn't got 10 from Craig, I'd score that 9 as well. I got the feeling Vito was a bigger star here... While i do not mind watching Vito, I'd like to see more of Sarah

I sometimes have difficulty taking my eyes off Vito (especially in certain outfits - and I’ll readily admit that!), but in this dance, Vito was NOT overly distracting in the least! Thank you, Wardrobe department, for dressing him in the same style of pants as all of the back-up dancers!! 😂
First off Vito, that was smashing! Oh, my gosh, i'm speechless. Actually , Sarah looked just like Kylie, and they gave it so much energy. It felt like a Kylie Minogue concert.
She was absolutely amazing , if you didn't know you would think she was a professional dancer ❤ love there relationship they are just like children enjoying themselves.
What I will say is I know theres been a couple of people posting on social media that this was overmarked and ridiculous. However the thing you have to bear in mind with the dance is it is going for a Fosse style which requires so much precision but minimalism and is SOO hard to get right. Sarah achieved that in my opinion and possibly has done the best couples choice of the series.

That song is incredible. Kylie Minogue Padam Padam is just brilliant and the dancers blew me away but the choreography was terrific.

@@barbaramcardle7158I’ll agree with that. I sometimes have difficulty taking my eyes off Vito (especially in certain outfits - and I’ll readily admit that!), but in this dance, Vito was NOT overly distracting in the least!

She was absolutely amazing , if you didn't know you would think she was a professional dancer ❤ love there relationship they are just like children enjoying themselves.

What I will say is I know theres been a couple of people posting on social media that this was overmarked and ridiculous. However the thing you have to bear in mind with the dance is it is going for a Fosse style which requires so much precision but minimalism and is SOO hard to get right. Sarah achieved that in my opinion and possibly has done the best couples choice of the series.
