10:00 The Chaos Channeler wouldn't be exiled by Bag of Devouring since Bag is a triggered ability and that wouldn't go onto the stack until Danse Macabre finishes resolving.
We played these straight out of the box and Vrondiss completely dominated. Sefris seemed to be the most fun, and Prosper consistently generated insane value, but straight from the box there aren’t any impactful payoffs for all the mana and card advantage Prosper generates. Since combat damage was all that mattered in the end, all Vondriss needed to do was drop a chunky creature from time to time. Even just casting Vondriss was enough to keep us in check. Fully upgraded though, Prosper would be my number 1 pick
At 6:59, Sefris cannot see creatures dying at the same time as herself. Triggered abilities worded as "when a creature dies" are zone-change abilities, and can look back in time (603.10a). Sefris's ability is worded different, and is not part of the triggers that look back in time (listed at 603.10a to 603.10g). An example is having Obliterate resolve while you control The Gitrog Monster and some lands. Gitfrog will not trigger for those lands because its trigger does not look back in time.
Great content as always! Definitely agree that Prosper is the strongest deck, though the Bant one is a close second from what I've seen. Either way, I am torn between Prosper or Kalain for a Rakdos treasure deck. Both look super fun.
Unfortunately, Sefris doesn't trigger when she goes to the graveyard or when she dies at the same time as other creatures. This is very unintuitive, but it's because her trigger is "whenever ... is put ... from anywhere". These types of triggers never "look back in time" to consider the game state and check if the trigger should go off when cards leave the battlefield (CR603.6c). A judge explains it better here th-cam.com/video/BSeh_fJnPF8/w-d-xo.html
I love the content, the matches are always fun, and then end when Trevor combis off (playing Meren obviously). Also I love that you play the deck you previewed
8:07 Can I ask why you ventured into the dungeon here? Sefris only triggers off cards hitting your graveyard. Interested to know if I missed something, I've been playing Sefris myself and really enjoying her 🙂
around minute 13 when Martin cast 3 equipment's, it is not clear from where he cast those because if he casted the spear from his hand he can't attach those .
Power level wise I would say the Gruul precon is perhaps the strongest one there with the fact it has stuff like Dragon Hoard and a way to make creatures on a whim with rolling dice. The fact we didn't get to see Sefris at all do much the entire game is sad since I am a fan of Esper commanders, it seems like one of those commanders you wanna build a custom deck for.
We talked about it at the table, which sadly the audio was cut for, but we all agreed that Sefris seems like the deck that wants the most from the standard AFR set. As it was, the few Venture cards in it were just not enough.
Nah I think Prosper is far and away the strongest. Probably the strongest precon commander since Anje, which is ironic because both are Rakdos and extremely value based.
I think the prosper deck will only be 'the strongest' when he is on the field. Without him on the field, the deck is severly hampered. While Gruul does not really care about the commander tbh. Gruul will always hit hard no matter what commander you are gonna use. In this precon it is the same. You get plenty of power on the board and every beast is a threat. About Anje, y she is a beast when it comes to value! I upgraded that precon only by a tiny bit, and it can go off pretty hard due to the card advantage...my all star in that deck was Sire of Insanity XD Put it in for shits 'n giggles but it kept everyone from doing anything :p
That pouch card is what realy balanced out the curve for the table. If Max didn’t play that card who would have known how scary he might have been later in the game. 💁🏾♂️
really looking forward to sleeving up my Vrondis deck this weekend. it is still in the precon package because I've been waiting for my local vendor friend to get 100+ card deck boxes as I'm out of boxes for my decks. but finally got a hold of deck boxes so I'm looking forward to playing my Vrondiss deck which I budget upgraded according to the command zone video :) (about 30 bucks or so extra)
watching the game, i think your misunderstanding how Sefris works. it only works on your own non-token creatures and it doesn't see itself die. that said, game looked like a lot of fun. Best precon environment i've ever seen.
@@eggjones6039 well I talked to a judge about it, he said because of the wording "from anywhere" Sefris needs to be on the Battlefield for the trigger to go off
I dont think he could destroy robe of stars. The creature and the things attached to the creature are phased out right now. Meaning they are not on the field for him to target until your next turn.
