This is hands down the best game knights episode in years, it seemed like the editing and pacing has returned to how it used to be, and it’s always a joy to see homebrew decks
I was gonna say I think the homebrew decks really lends itself to a more “real” feeling game. I still enjoy episodes where they feature new commanders/cards, but unrestricted episodes are still the best.
the unstricted decks/fan episodes always smash the others episodes like a bug....and guess what as of episode 75....they now will be playing fan submitted decks from patreon and they already confirmed they will do this again so now we can get unrestricted deck episodes more often
Agreed. I actually have won with a similar play, but replace the card she used with torment of hailfire, in a treasure deck. She earned that win. Didn't even need that rift!
This was probably the least impactful "blank check" deal in a game of Commander ever, Jimmy got no land out of it but was also never punished for making it I legitimately forgot he made it until he brought it up at the end

@@benjaminhide7410 as someone who also plays magic with saul, it’s a bit of all 3 tbh. He comes up with crazy combos and uses all sorts of uncommon commanders and builds them with so much power and synergy. He’s so much fun to play against, albeit definitely terrifying at times. (My favorite deck of his ive played against is probably king of the oathbreakers because he’s practically untouchable when it pops off right. It’s so frustrating but in such a satisfying way)

As someone who plays in Saul’s pod, and has been subject to Gimbal (and the other decks in his nefarious collection,) I’m amped to see Saul on the show!! He kicked butt, what an amazing game from every player!!

I started playing magic when that set released so I collected all the pins, I didn’t know what purpose they would serve until I was picked! Also selvala is a POWERHOUSE in the deck. Not the first time I’ve made that much mana with her!
Both fans were so great. Awesome vibes. Honestly, both would be really fun repeat guests. Especially Allie, she was sneaky good with her plays which was super fun to watch 😊
One of my favorite parts of this whole episode is hearing Saul keep talking about the cool combo pieces in his deck he has never gotten to play test in pods or anything like it with Gimbol, and being so happy to finally play them. I honestly feel that with my decks sometimes where it’ll feel like a year before I can make proper use of a card.

I can't believe the command zone has the budget to pay for all of this outrageous animation and music. That was the most pleasant experience watching someone play Zexara I've ever seen. Like usually if Zexara is coming out I am putting both hands on my face not clapping along like a five-year-old.
I love how stubborn JLK was that he forced his opponent to not even use their own draw engine. I love how great Saul's deck was. This was a commander I have been wanting to find something good. I love how goofy it was to watch Jimmy discard his Sacred Foundry. But I also did love his constant doubling of his Equipment. I love how Allie just had huge beasts and did nothing real with them as she just came in with that Sorcery.
She played it perfectly. Needed the Selvala to stick and her stuff not to get countered by Josh when she tried to play out her board again but also make it known she’s not threatening the board so people would leave her alone. It was honestly perfectly played start to finish.
and it worked she was able to stay in the dark for longer because of that then the real overload card popped out heck i do the same strategy I bide my time waiting for removal to be thrown around then play the cards when they are out of answers its part of the reason i do well
What a decks!!! INSANE. First time watching a Gimbal deck popping off in a way that I love. Saul really had a factory in his board!!! The Hydras winning with an exsanguinate!!! The tricky first strike and the axes in Jimmy's board!! and JLK taking 4 turns in a round!!! Enjoyable till the end. Loved this video and I hope to see more!!!

These fan episodes are some of the best ones to watch because it’s always fun to see what the fans bring to table with their homebrew decks and I’m happy you got to show them some love. Allie is now one of my new favourite fans to come on Game Knights since she was so much fun and it was nice to see her claim victory…with an amazing triple K.O. thanks to Exsanguinate. Allie and Saul are some of the best fans I’ve seen so far and it was fun to see them make their debut on Game Knights…and it was pretty fun to see Saul, Jimmy and Josh get taken out at the same time as well as seeing them get crushed by Allie Hydra deck…never underestimate the power of the creatures of mythology. Literally the only way the episode could've been better, this was such an exiting game! Both Allie and Saul had such fun and interesting decks and I hope everyone had a good time.
