Looks great. The satin spray paint colors are usually a better match for the plastic interior pieces. Some are as close to an exact match as you can get if you're restoring something.
I was just thinking the same thing. I just bought my son an 08' Av. Cloth seats could definitely use a little something. 🤔 But now im wondering how the gray would take, on black cloth. Im gonna buy some gray and go to fabric store to get a small piece of black fabric to test. The leather cover-all seat covers that i want to get him, are pretty costly. Definitely when talking about seat covers. Granted....... cheaper than buying leather seats! Have you seen any covers that are split bench and split back, that'll work for avalanche rear seat setup? Ive seen plenty of split backs, but the bench covers are solid, all way across. Have you taken it on yet?? If you get to the blk/gry project before me, let me know how it works out.
@@ktmclay yeah I wanted black interior but because I save money by buying used vehicles when I find a good one and I get everything I wanted but the interior gray I snapped them up and I was trying to find out how to make it look better didn't even know this was a thing I look forward to trying it thank you
If you want a fuex suade effect wait longer periods between coats and light coats. After a coat dries take a firm hair brush and brush the soft fabric areas all around. Repeat except not as a final step. C9mes out a lil softer and a lil suade effect.
How do the seats look and feel now after a couple years? Did they ever stain your clothes? & im sorry for all the questions but did it make the seats feel stiff?
How long does it take to fume out so you can't smell it anymore? Note, this is NOT a dye. It's a flexible lacquer finish. Meaning it puts a layer of film down, and it has flex agents added. Says it right on the product info on the duplicolor website.
this video is old and i assume your spray painting skills have evolved hopefully. but if not, here is a tip...NEVER start the spray on the product. ALWAYS start the spray outside the product and bring it in and fan out as you spray away. or else you will get dark spots and splatter.
Thanks for the tutorial. Idk who thought beige interior was a good idea. They are impossible to keep clean.
Haha. No problem
This made me miss my DA so much. I am definitely going to do this to my Mazda! Great Video.
Thank u so much. DAs are fun. Miatas to!
Awesome! Can't wait to go for a ride in da Integra!

Tip when spraying clothe use a soft brush between coats turn out good .
Which direction should you brush?
@@AutoRevLife do a cross pattern because it’s goes in the material in between the pattern ..
Should I coat the whole seat than use the soft brush or do it in sections and brush per section per coat
Oh man I'm about to do this to my gray interior on my impala and if I like that then my gray silverado interior.
It's really nice stuff. It's pretty impressive how good it works

Question man. Can you use it to do headliner and side pilers if they are suede?
Yes
Little late but if you were to clean it with water and soak it up, will the dye come off or will it just clean the seat?
It's permanent. Nothing comes off
Does the fabric become rough after painting?
It gets a little firm but not to bad.

Do you know if it will come off if you get the interior shampoo or detailed?
I don't think it would. Its literally dye in a can.
@@ktmclay thank you 😊 what exactly is the name of this dye?
How does the seat feel after painting? Does it feel rough to the touch or the same as originally?
Feels good. Not rough at all
@@ktmclay how long does it take to dry until you can't smell the paint anymore?

Red would’ve looked amazing
Yea, I had to cover up a bunch of stains though unfortunately
Do you think a two tone is achievable using this?
Yes. It shouldn't be and issue as long as u can tape everything off that u need to spray separately
How do the seats look and feel now after a couple years? Did they ever stain your clothes? & im sorry for all the questions but did it make the seats feel stiff?
There not stiff, no stains on clothes, look the same as the day I did it

How many can would have to use for a whole car
Depending on size of car I'd say for 2 buckets and a bench seat, you would need atleast 6 or 7

I'm sure after 2 years you'd probably want to pull em out vacuum em all good and recoat
Duplicolor will turn crunchy. I'm not sure about some of the rest but I hate the duplicrap.
Been on the seat almost 2 years. No crunch and silky smooth
