      Nah, but I promised I would. I’ll get to it one of these days. Floyd clearly won.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had it 8-4 Floyd with points deducted from both fighters so it ends up 115-111 like 2 or all 3 of the judges. Floyd won the first 5 rounds.

      What you think about that first sequence tho? Have you ever seen a better display of guard manipulation than Floyd moving Gatti’s arm in mid combination?

      @@BoxingGems honestly In his era I can’t think of nobody. His ability to manipulate the guard and pinning he was good at both.. I’m not a historian though I’m sure it’s a few that did it well before him💯

      That was my favorite Floyd fight just because he chose to go up weight and beat Cotto at his own game. Cotto had to have at least 15- 20 pounds on Floyd that night and Floyd still chose to mix it up on the inside and beat him at it

    I believe that Floyd’s fight against Jesus Chavez in 2001 was not manslaughter like his fight against Gatti but because Chavez was determined to make Floyd fight ruff fight knowing skill wise he couldn’t beat Floyd. With Chavez being so reckless aggressive it give Floyd a chance to put on a show for the fans who enjoy the science much as KO’s & Floyd displayed the use of forearm elbows & shoulder whether doing the shoulder roll or muscling on the inside throw the lead right hand if it doesn’t connect when his opponent dips he would lean on the neck to take away energy & aggressiveness. That fight is still one of my favorite fights to watch to this day. To your point I stop going back and forth with guys along time ago who say all Floyd did was jab & run didn’t throw combinations & he cherry picked his 50-0 record because saying either one let’s me know they don’t nothing about boxing & they damn sure don’t know nothing about the sweet science of hit & don’t get hit

      I don’t think anybody noticed yet but the pictures were his last 29 fights in order from the day he became a Champion beating Genaro Hernandez. That ring introduction was ridiculous! @@BoxingGems Gems, I argue with my son everyday that Floyd is the best period in relation to today’s fighters. We were watching Floyd vs Pacquiao and before I took this dude’s money I explained that he would make Pac-Man look silly and would be his easiest fight. The whole time he bitched about how Manny wasn’t throwing any punches and Mayweather was only pop shottin and I had to explain that was the beauty of the fight. Floyd had shutdown everything Manny did and had him confused and beat him with ease. Have you ever heard Manny Pacquiao make an excuse for taking a L? He spoke perfect English when he said “hurt my arm in sparring” and even Freddy Roach looked at him sideways like, when tf did that happen? Floyd is the best Period. He is the definition of hit and not get hit boxing at his highest level.
