    Andre Ward's ultimate smart move was to retire on top with his health intact.

    • @ainsleycrawford4221
      @ainsleycrawford4221 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not so smart if he was chasing greatness. Not so smart financially, either: had he played his cards right, he could've gotten a humungous pay check against Canelo at 175 or slightly below at some point since 2019 (only two years into retirement).

    Highly cerebral fighter 🧠 his adjustment game was crazy could easily transition from finesse to brutal tactics in a fight. Also loved his dirty boxing always seemed to slowly take the confidence out of his op’s . Him verzuz b hop would’ve been interesting they had a lot of similarities with their approach

    Very good breakdown of one of my favorite boxers of all time. Ward was always very good at taking away his opponent's best weapon. In most cases, he would shut his opponent's offense down completely. A master of all ranges, he would always look to work at the opponent's least effective range. Which would naturally take away a lot of their offense because most fighters need to be at their preferred range in order to produce their best offensive output. Good stuff brother

Well truth be told it's not about how many HOF you fight it's about how well you perform in your bouts, how dominant of a performance do you put up?

    One of my all time favs. Can bang with both hands, defensive genius. Incredible inside fighter. Former Gold medalist. The only negative is when he took so much time off after super 6 with promoter problems. Was on the shelf for what shoulda been his best years. Didn’t look great in 1st fight with Kovalev but showed his metal in second fight. Super physically dominant even though he had a slender frame. Love the lateral movement . Boxing or banging could do it all. Genius iq. He and his trainer were locked in had their stuff wired tight. Before super 6 tourney he was projected to finish last. I knew he was going to win the whole thing. I just knew him from the amateurs Nobody could intimidate this man. Had an excellent career but I think if he had gone traditional with a big promoter he eventually would have gotten bigger fights, bigger paydays and way more notoriety. The casuals don’t really know him. He could have been a big cross over star. A great human outside ring. A bit shocking how he was able to destroy excellent fighters; Dawson, Kovalev, Froch, Kessler, Abraham. Those fights were not close. He dismantled them all.

    Andre Ward is one of my all time favs. He’s like a mash up of Roy and Floyd. When I watched him dismantle Froch (a pretty dangerous fighter at the time) with such ease, I was hooked. It’s not just having a plan (fighting in close), it’s the flawless execution.
