    I like this fight a lot. It’s overlooked because it was a chess match. This fight was a prime Mayweather. I’d add another reason Oscar stopped jabbing was because Floyd out jabbed him. Oscar took rounds: 2, 4, 6, and 12. Floyd took one of the biggest risks in his career by giving away the final round against Oscar. Fight was wrongfully ruled a split decision to sell a possible rematch

    if you remember, one of hbo's commentators (i forget which one) was talking about how he's attended multiple tommy kaczmarek scoring seminars. the hbo commentators were calling this fight a possible draw or narrow win for either fighter towards the end. anyways, kaczmarek was said to score basically on coming forward just like ellerbe said. he seemed to score aggression alone... whether it was affective or not. i'm gonna completely not talk about how all commentators try to make a big fight seem close, how hbo would do everything it could to protect oscar or how golden boy always seems to have at least one judge in their pocket.

    The stab to 4 was a pretty magical combination here. A lot of fighters just score the stab jab and back off (good ones too).

    Can you do an extended fight review of floyd vs castillo? I see that as a clear floyd win, he won outside, inside and had control throughout. Yet still people say he lost? I dont even see it as close.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      In the first Castillo fight the first 5 rounds could have easily went to Floyd. To say Floyd didn’t win a round after round 5 is ridiculous so there isn’t much of an argument. I can’t make vids cause haters don’t know boxing. I rather cater to people like you who appreciate the craft. But suggestion noted. I’ll think about it.

      After this series is over I’ll probably do that down the line. I was doing this series in chronological order and I already passed the Corrales fight. But I don’t mind do any Floyd fight in the future.

      @@BoxingGems What people fail to realize is that the end if round 5 is when he damaged/ tore his rotator cuff. That's why he slowed a bit. Unlike Pussy PAC who cried about it after the fight and post press and months after Floyd didn't make the excuse. Fuck he didn't even tell ANYONE. only reason we know is someone caught him at the hospital afterward and asked him what he was doing there. " Oh, rotator cuff surgery". No excuses never acknowledging injury to the enemy. Real G shit. Let it heal. Then beat the brakes off Castillo in the rematch.

      @@BoxingGems Yeah. Media like that is what's harmed Boxing the most. It's what's powering so many of these casuals/racists/haters. I can go pretty deep on how harmful nearly 20 years of that terrible media has been detrimental to the sport- but I'm sure you know. When the skincolor don't match- the media will attack. It's crazy how Willie Pep nearly 100 years later is still being heralded for winning a round without throwing a punch. Yet Floyd, of our day n age, gets this level of hate from so-called Boxing media.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pro Boxing in many ways was built off “race”. I’m a so-called black man in America so of course I have my opinions and knowledge on the subject. However, I’m keeping the channel about what happens in that ring. The only rule I have in the comment section is respect the fighters. I’d rather my subs keep it about boxing in this comment section but I get it. Comments like the one I pinned are easily shut down if you keep it about boxing knowledge. I broke down an entire round and he accused me of only showing Floyd highlights. So I guess the whole 11th round was a Mayweather highlight (which it pretty much is) or he ignored the video after 2-3 minutes. Can’t argue with willful ignorance.
