Truth lol luckily I woke up after a few months and got out (after 1 hoover and reconcile) " I really want to buy tickets and take you to the symphony" " I want to take you to the beach this summer, there's a great place I'd know you'd love"..and anytime I'd mention something I needed/wanted to buy, I e. A new outdoor trash can, an air purifier) he'd tell me he had an extra of both and how much he paid for them and wanted to give them to me. Nothing ever materialized.
I’ve been searching videos on this topic because I felt like am I crazy or is this a thing. Thank you for your video. My husband constantly tells me he’s going to do certain things but when it comes time to do it he doesn’t acknowledge that he previously agreed to it and when I bring it up he tells me I’m petty and I end up being so confused. If I don’t believe him when he states is going to do something he says I’m negative but if I do believe him and try to hold him to his word then I’m petty or rude. It’s such mind game. I’m exhausted.
Yes, a mind game played with the hope of controlling the relationship. How long have you been living with this?
BIG mind games! Believe your experience and observe his behavior. Then, you’ll have more clarity for decision-making about the relationship. Discussing his future faking with him is seldom worth the energy.

You're welcome. Good for you for seeing the future fake for what it was: a control tactic to keep you on the string.
Just think of "Future-Faking" as a Crook/Thief promising a store manager that they gonna pay for all the goods purchased today, later. But knowing they won't. Then they move on to a new store next time they want something, and promise that store the same thing. Repeat cycle with different people.
And men wonder why we become cold?
Right? And, why we stop buying the future faking and call it for what it is! Non-negotiable boundaries with dates attached can help!

My husband so does this...he constantly talks of foreign holidays when we are in company, then when everyone has gone, he has reams of excuses. I go from excited, as I've only been abroad once, with my job. I become extremely deflated.
Now I simply refuse to discuss it. I've asked we only discuss what we have booked.
