I think, younger friends will find it ridiculous to wear a watch looking like a tiny calculator but it was the thing when it was launched. Also it has multi-function such as calculator and you could show off to your friends "hold on, let me calculate" and boom, *achievement: mission impressing friends completed* :). Yeah I was really struggling to imagine the actual use for this today. I mean even if your phone gets smashed, your contacts and other data is just a computer terminal away... or you could even get it via the phone of the person next to you, at a push!
To answer you question on who would wear this as there's no practical need for the databank... there's little practical need for a watch at all these days, it's just fun :)

This watch will withstand the ingress of water at the static pressure indicated on its case (50, 100 or 200 meters) and immersion in salt water at the dept indicated. Note, however, the dynamic pressure generated by movement underwater is greater than static pressure.
Yes… problem is that there is no depth indicated on this case
@@PerthWAtch no there is NOT!!! I Don't believe I've ever seen a watch that was water resistant or waterproof and did not indicate it somewhere on the device itself. I'm wondering if the chart in the instructions are not just a chart in itself for general purposes if and only if your current watch reflects water resistance on the hardware
@@PerthWAtch just a curious question, have you taken the back of the watch off and seen that there is any rubber ring at all? That does not give an indication of whether the front keys on the calculator portion, possibly a key cover glued on, I wonder if... I've not removed the screws yet because I just got the watch a couple of days ago and if it is a seal of some kind well I don't know
No I didn’t removed the case back
@@Poweruser75 Yes there is a rubber ring behind the stainless steel back.
Güzel bir nostalji saat. Severek kullanıyorum, teşekkürler. 👍👍
What?
i have it and i just like the look of it and use it to check time, basically i like the watch .... another thing, people say good things when they see it
Good to hear that it can be used to check time! :)
@@PerthWAtch haha... I got an ALBA... Would like to review it... I don't know if you only review certain type or catogery
I review all :)
Can we change the strap on this one?
Probably, but why?
@@PerthWAtch It has gotten dry and weak,so it gives me anxiety while riding on highways wearing this watch
You probably can’t get the original anymore but third party or alternative is possible I think
Hi all , this watch appeared in movie Chappie
Awesome, thanks for that! :)
Can the resin strap be replaced with a NATO strap?
You would need an adaptor I think, and I'm not sure they make one for this watch...
Alguien sabe cuando Saldra el Nuevo modelo de este reloj Casio calculadora o seguirán con este nuevo modelo de reloj
What?
only thing that's keeping me from acquiring it is the lack of water resistance.
and the other calculator watch (ca-53wf) is missing the illumination and too many functions this one has.
Yeah I would be hesitant too!
that data bank comes in handy if you lose your cell phone and need to borrow one
Fair point!
Hello friend, good video, I want to put a NATO bracelet on this watch, can you give me the exact measurements? thank you
Nope, don’t have it anymore
@@PerthWAtch Ok my friend thanks
When it was 1st introduced?
Not sure...
excuse me, I want to ask. Is this watch waterproof? thank you
No, this model is not waterproof.
@@PerthWAtch but is this watch if it is exposed to rain it's okay?
Probably, but no guarantee I suppose
@@PerthWAtch oh yeah thank you very much for the answer 😊 ... so, the conclusion is not all Casio watches are waterproof?
Yes... did someone tell that all Casio watches are waterproof!?
Thr one thing i wish casio would do is make it easier to put different straps on their watches . 16-18mm is an odd size
Indeed!
I've had it for one week and unfortunately the resin strap "broke" today ={ other than that, i love this watch
How old is the watch?
can you put letters into the DB entries?
I think for the designation only, not the number...
If you still looking Casio DBC/DBX/DBM you can find on E.T.S.Y in FancySoapShop. All models are working and in good conditions.

Nice, are they genuine?
@@PerthWAtch
all watches are genuine and as described. I value the reputation of my store 100%
Oh, didn’t realise this was a spruiking post!
Does it have sig alrm hourly time signal alarm??!
Yes it does have that option, can turn on and off.
@@PerthWAtch Thanks. Good review by the way.
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it :)
Is data bank watch contains world clock also ?
Can't remember - I recommend watching the video to find out ;)
I think so
I've seen conflicting accounts from different reviews and online stores on whether or not and to what degree this watch is water-resistant.
Does it matter what reviewers and stores say? Casio don’t claim it’s water resistant so best to treat it as not.
@@PerthWAtch Good point. Water resistance is really important to me, so I'll look at a different watch. Thanks!
Getting a Casio dbc-32 quartz finished, do a DB-36. Each watch is Casio created it.
What?
Can anyone recommend a more rugged band or can confirm if a g shock band will fit this watch?
Interesting question!
@@PerthWAtch what do you think my friend? I’m new to the calculator watch scene and am totally geeking out but want to beef up my band since I’m in construction.
I dunno man… if I was searching for info on this I would post on a good forum, like WUS
I appreciate it. Pardon my noob questions. Thank you.
I like the look of the dbc 611 best👍
Nice one :)
I have a Dbc-611 coming tomorrow Friday,Sept 24 from Japan 👍
Next I'm picking up a A-100 reissue, originally f-100 Casio from Alien, Ripley watch 👍
Right now I'm wearing the a158w silver colour,I caught the Casio bug!😁
Wearing by Indian actor Dev Patel
omar abukhudair and his co-actor Hogivs Ashid...
I think the Casio addiction is taking me.. what a beautiful specimen :D
Hahaha it’s a deadly addiction!

@@Людмила-б4у5ь thanks man
That thing would've been pretty cool back in the 70's when 'data' alone would've made people fall head over heels, but today, in this age when you have 64GB in your cellphone, calling a few kilobytes of RAM 'data bank' is just : 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah I was really struggling to imagine the actual use for this today. I mean even if your phone gets smashed, your contacts and other data is just a computer terminal away... or you could even get it via the phone of the person next to you, at a push!
Perth WAtch although.. Compared to an automatic that can't even store a single line of text... ..... Nah.... This thing is still 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Walter used a CA53 I believe
Yep
No timer?
Dunno man, did you see one in video?
@@PerthWAtch ouch
Technically five of them.
To answer you question on who would wear this as there's no practical need for the databank... there's little practical need for a watch at all these days, it's just fun :)
Wrong. Checkout other more useful responses. And - not everyone has their hand glued to a phone ;)
@@PerthWAtch wrong? I guess I just imagined that watch sales have plummeted since mobile phones became affordable, and even more so after the advent of smartphones and how watches are marketed purely as now just novelty/luxury/dress pieces rather than tools these days. What a stupid response to a lighthearted comment.
Oooh, looks like I hit a nerve mate! Chill out and don’t take this so seriously dude. Time to move on buddy ;)
Geek out is a Casio, Casio and Casio with DBC-32 and DB-36.
What?
If my phone with all my contacts gets lost or battery runs out or I forget my phone and need to contact someone in an emergency then yes the data bank would be useful for my contacts.
Yeah fair point - a few others suggested that also
Anybody here knows if it resists water?
Please watch video for all info ;)
How to you learn Geek Out! | Casio Perth watch dbc-32 quartz review? In the watch quartz review!
What?
Why is there not a perfect Casio calculator watch? Some are WR but no Illuminator or vice versa...
Isn’t there a perfect one?
I would definitely use the phone number option... honestly, how many people actually know their own family members phone numbers? Your smart phone fails and you don't even know who to call... and all this because people stopped remembering phone numbers.....yeah... smart phones makes us smarter....
I remember my family members' phone numbers actually...
@@PerthWAtch Good for you...on my smartphone I have a name and a picture...and when i change my phone...my contacts get uploaded automatically...if i think more about ... I actually didn't type their phone numbers for more than 4 years
That's the same for me... but I find I do physically write or type my family members numbers quite a lot when filling in forms (NOK, emergency contact, etc), hence why I actually remember the numbers!
Umm It’s a CA53W that Walter is wearing
Or is it?
@@PerthWAtch Yes? Walt has a C53W calculator watch but still a nice watch and video
Very good sir!
this will be useful in 90s
And no other period?
Its still useful today. The watch is an unhackable password vault.
JESSE, WE NEED TO COOK
GET THAT RV!!
Cool 😎
Thanks 😊
Have % function?
Not sure, sorry I don't have the watch any longer.
IS THIS WATER RESISTANT?
What did the video say?
It can take small amount of water and that's it, dont take it swimming or in the shower.
I knew it!
I bought 2 😅 it’s just too good haha
Oh wow really? I do find this model a bit awkward to use, and also to find an appropriate context for me to wear...

I just bought one of these for 15,99$ on ebay😍

Sir your form sir
Jodi is cool
Yes!
the one in breaking bad is CA53 ...not this one
Yep
It has its place in the 21st century..
What place is that?
Which model did Walter White wear in Breaking Bad
Google
This is a nice toy 👍
Haha "toy" is probably not an unfair description here :)
Stranger things and breaking bad used ca 53 watches
Really!?
this watch is water resistant, back has a rubber ring. technically not rated for submersion but sweat, rain, hand wash is okay.
It can withstand my sweat!?
I'd store Social Security numbers of for my kids in code, and phone numbers. Does ANYONE have any experience with this watch getting wet?? Please comment below let me know how It went. I've heard mixed things about these watches getting wet. I heard someone took a DBC 150 data bank in the pool and it was fine but that's a different model that will run like $300 in bran new condition.
I guess that function might come in handy in the situation where you lose or break your phone... although personally I do keep the 3-4 most important numbers in my head.
You can cheep each watch as you can.
What?
