I am 77, been wearing dbc32 since 1980s, changed band and battery twice . Used it my entire career from bike messenger, car mechanic, electronic engineer, cardio monitor tech and private tutor. This watch is for EVERYONE, NOT JUST KIDS!¡
Thanks s lot for this detailed and easy to understand tutorial ! I love this watch, it just arrived from Amazon today on Saturday, March 23rd 2024. It's a beautiful watch, plenty of functions. I truly appreciate anything that takes me back to the 1980's.
I discovered your channel not long ago, and man...I can't wait for every new video that you upload. Thanks to you I have rediscovered my passion for watches, and in particular for solar/radiocontrolled ones, and I have started my own little collection. Thank you very much for your work Greg, it's a pleasure to spend some time watching your content. Greetings from Italy
I'm 2001 born.... But still when I see these watches, I feel so classy and elegant. I have collection of all Casio Vintage Series watches.... Luckily I'm buying them as Casio has relaunched some of its iconic models.... Masterpieces. Today's junk technology is too boring. Life would be beautiful and meaningful if we live with basics, slow paced.
Nice to see this video - I ordered a steel bracelet DBC32 about a week ago and received it last night. I quite like the vintage look and the screen is large and main screen display has a lot of good information at a glance. Funny thing about the water resistance - the little slide in paper that came in the plastic display holder the watch shipped with says "databank" and "water resistant". I don't intend to test out the water resistance just in case but I would expect it to be OK with light splashes. Appreciate your videos Greg!
The original Casio databanks from the late eighties and early nineties were incredible compared to these now. World time. Stopwatch and countdown timer. Telememo. Schedule and alarm. That would scroll a 12 character note across the display. An amazing watch that predated smart watches.
Thanks, Greg. This is very useful. Paid about $47 at the big watch shop here in Moscow, though I did get a 10% discount because I spend far too much on Casios there!.I love it., and sometimes put up the display in Russian for fun. Cheers 🍻!
Nice and very well documented video. I actually have one similar to this, more than 20 years old. It has an incandescent little bulb for backlight. The display also have printed a little table on it, I think for schedule function. But for introducing letters you can use the keyboard like on the old phones,so it is a little faster. If I remember is the DBC 62 version, and is water resistant. It was not that cheap back then. Right now I have to check the battery, because I don't use it this days. And I have another old casio watch with a big solar cell and below is the display. Model is AL-190W and I think it is the only one I have without backlight. It says batteryless on the display. After about ten years in a box it started instantly in the light. Do you know if it really has no battery inside? I remember when I was using it back then, the display went blank only after a couple of days in the dark, and the time was reset to 12 00. Maybe it has a capacitor.
Sadly the memory features have been nerfed a bit from the older discontinued dbc-63/databank 150/300. Used to be able to store a number in the calculator
I remember saving up money for the original Casio calculator watch, when I was a kid. I was so excited to finally get one from a local department store. I no longer have it, but bought a re-issue Casio online recently. The only problem now is that my eyes aren’t the same as they once were. I have trouble seeing the keyboard!😮
Set the alarm function is better on this than on a typical smartphone because you can set the alarm for a specific date and time. Smartphone alarms will not allow you to do amazingly. 11:06
Dammit Greg!!! You made me go on eBay and buy that Casio Micro Mini calculator in mint condition, in its original case 😂😂😂 I collect all things Casio 😎
Hi, I had a question, I have this Casio DCB 32 and need to change the battery, I am informed that if I use powerfull batteries of 3 volt 2025 from. Duracell or energizer, they might destroy the circuit of the watch, is it true, can you suggest a good battery manufacturer. 😢
When i was a kid.. i swore that if i had a calculator watch i would be the smartest person on earth.. till this day i have never owned one..but i will buy it this weekend. I was def a watch loving kid with all types of diff casios growing up. All were watches i found only once did i get a f91 for Christmas. I was pretty happy but i still wished it had been a calculator watch. I also was lucky enough to find a g shock at a lake. I was to young to know what model. But def one of my best memories.
It doesn't say it's water resistants on it because it's actually pretty good water resistant i have put mine in a bucket full of water for a hour multiple times nothing happened
G'evening Greg ☕☕ 😇 . The first watch I bought myself with my allowance back in 84' - 85' when I was a little kid was the original Back to the Future calculator watch 🤣 . fstfwd 35+ yrs and I'm still in the watch collecting Hobby and I'm currently wearing my 2nd calculator watch all these years later, a DBC32. Like you I have fat fingers and small the buttons maybe this one however will always be in my collection 😇 ..

I would prefer the DB36 , exchanging the calculator for the 50m water resistance.
Is this watch water resistant

I'm gen z, I wasn't even alive in the 90's, much less the 80's, but I just picked up one of these watches and am loving it.
I've had the silver one for fifteen years and it's still on the original battery!
I cancelled the silver one since the body is fake metal looking plastic. Maybe back then it wasn't.

I knew I could trust Greg to teach me how to use this one! Thanks again for another tutorial!
Wow this classic was my 3rd Casio watch! Great to see it again
Thank you for the very useful tutorial. Just ordered the one steel bracelet version and this should make setting it up a lot easier.
Always a pleasure to watch, Greg. Thank you.
I wish I knew about the unique alarm features on the databank series before . Just ordered one after watching your video . Thanks man.
Fantastic review man.
Keep doing Fantastic things
Hey, what a coincidence! I just got one a few weeks ago! Thank you for the video!

Thanks for the video, just settling up my watch by watching your video

Yeah, they took a lot out of the data bank series.
The DBC-32 featured in "Chappie". Worn by actor Dev Patel (Deon).

I learn something new. The repeat alarm every 23rd of the month so will never forgot our monthsary.
Thank you for the Test, just received mine (42 Euros) and I really love it ❤
It has been driving me nuts trying to figure out how to activate the Mute function! Thank you 😅. I could not figure it out on my own. 🤦♂️
Здравейте. Прекрасно видео. Този часовник има ли функция да отбелязва със звук точен час?? И ако има, как се активира?? Благодаря.
This is nice…… very helpful to make a informed decision
The only thing that I need in this is the timer.
Yes, a Calculator Casio Standard, very nice!
Bro ur a life saver I can now cheat I’m school maths thanks to u without the teacher knowing thanks 🙏
is there any way to repair the buttons?
i got 3 buttons on the keypad that feel hard and dont do anything
I have three of these models. The name and number has been useful as I have lost my phone twice. My most important numbers are in my watches!
Thank u . Very nicely explained..
How will i find out its original or duplicate?
How you change the day?
Set the alarm function is better on this than on a typical smartphone because you can set the alarm for a specific date and time. Smartphone alarms will not allow you to do amazingly. 11:06
Fantastic review. Thanks!
How do they both perform on the 5+5/5 test?
Dammit Greg!!! You made me go on eBay and buy that Casio Micro Mini calculator in mint condition, in its original case 😂😂😂 I collect all things Casio 😎
where locating its serial number bro 🤷 its back body or in the box where ?
This watch is still ahead to other wrist watches except from smartwatch
I have both of them, how i have 236 watches
Great video, Thank you.
You forgot the second most important part to review: How is it to use as a calculator?
It only stores numbers? I’ll like to store passwords
The first line above the numbers can contain letters, but only a maximum of 8 characters there. The other lines below that would only contain numbers.
Good explanation 😊
Thx u for the detail🙏

Casio really ought to let you just add or subtract a second. I don't want to waste 30 seconds just to fix the time at the end of the week.

Спасибо за понятный обзор
Is there a way to add text to the data bank? Or is it just numbers? Would be nice if I could save PWs
Careful, the memory clears if the battery dies or is removed
I already have the og casio watch, and it's almost indestructible. (I do want a calculator watch though)
Thank you
It doesn't say it's water resistants on it because it's actually pretty good water resistant i have put mine in a bucket full of water for a hour multiple times nothing happened
Is this model resistant to rainwater or handwashing? thank you.
I personnally forgot to take off mine severals times under the shower and it still works perfectly 😁
I wonder how easy it would be to do the display mod? Or even put a NFC tag in there?

8 more years to go 22:30
You can’t buy watches anymore at Walmart, except for those nine dollar Chinese throwaways
Not true. Our local Walmart has probably 100 watch options to choose from. Asheville, NC
@@clrkglnn none of them in my neck of the woods here in Southeastern North Carolina
