Orphan season has arrived for another year and it's so important to call in any bat by itself through the day as it's in trouble.
Baby Yeti was rescued by Leonard a couple of nights ago after being heard in a domestic downpipe.
He sustained some injuries during his ordeal but he is healing up well and settling in.
I then received a call from Richard who had attended a rescue and to his immense surprise, it was twin boys.
Mum had passed away and both babies came into care with umbilical cords and placentas attached.
Baby Triffid is the smaller of the two and he is struggling to suck his milk and swallow it so I have to drip feed and subcut him.
The larger twin, Baby Kraken is doing better and is now taking three ml feeds.

I'm glad the twins were rescued. As humans, we don't think about animals dying during birthing. Hope the little one makes it. They all deserve a chance to live a full life.

Unfortunately, the only bats I have ever seen here in Indiana are the really small ones with scary alien faces.

Yes, Australia seems to have all the cute ones. But our little pollen & seed harvesters luckily aren't as vulnerable either it seems. Wind turbines are a huge threat to birds & bats 🦇. Whenever I see those monstrous things...ugh!!
@@kathyflorcruz552 I have read that the wind turbines kill a lot of birds and bats. Renewable energy technologies still need some work. The ocean wave one is interesting.

As always I am rooting for the babies with all my heart. ❤ I know it’s exciting to see twins, but I think that is actually a pretty cruel prank nature plays on a poor mom bat. Imagine the poor thing flying with *two* (big) babies attached to her while trying to find food for *three*.😢
