Luna is an underrated main vocal. All in all SM main vocals are in a different league. Ningning's potential is huge. Taeyeon's experience plays a lot in her technique and consistency. She does know how to play with her strength. Wendy is just the balance of all. And she is constantly improving.

I think it's because Luna has mastered the skills and techniques but lack Originality, which is important if you want to establish your name.
Singers can belt and hit higher notes, but Originality is what makes people know in a snap of a finger that this voice belongs to this artist.
When I hear one sentence from Taeyeon, Ningning, Rosé, Bom - I know they're the ones singing.
@@chad_fiore I dont think she lacks originality, pretty sure I know it was her voice the second I hear them. She still consistently releasing music till now, and honestly its almost always amazing. You know what has been an issue about luna? its her visual. Even though she's always been really pretty, she's not fit to the korean beauty standard. When she started showing some skin, koreans critisized her crazily because she's tan and used to be so muscular. There's a video in yt explaining her diet journey after all the backlash about her body.

Somestimes Taeyeon's belts are so powerful her whole body vibrates because of the ammount of energy she pulls out. I've noticed it a few times in the Into The New World ballad, The Boys and Fine. You can see her diaphragm moving with the vibrato in 10:08 and shaking her dress. It's sheer power 🤯

In my opinion Luna was the most underrated vocalist in SM. To think that she was supposed to be a main dancer but ended up becoming a vocal monster speaks volume. She's incredible to hear and I can't believe it's for free.
Even if she trained as a main dancer, it's not like Krystal can take the main vocal role cuz Luna is their best vocalist, most of the vocalist trainee got in SNSD.
I really believe Ningning could be so much better, she hasn't show up her full potential yet thanks to the SM ENTERTAINMENT who makes them lipsync almost everytime, but we know she's great and could be even more amazing if she keeps training live and if she gains confidence in the stage, she would be unstoppable.

The same happens to me with super junior vocalists (I’m an elf btw), kyuhyun is objectively the best of the 3 main vocalist, but yesung put so much emotion in his singing and his voice is so satisfying to listen that personally he is my favorite

I still can’t believe that SM wasted the talents of f(x) as a whole, especially Luna, who is such a strong vocalist, and not just for these points. I mean she out sung Red Light, a very loud EDM track that the other f(x) members couldn’t even sing over…that is a skill. She even sung Pretty Girl mostly on her own in that musical and almost rivaled the original track. Luna is such an angelic voice that’s got jack shit for her talent. Glad Broadway was totally up for her. Sm needs to push the visual crap down the toilet, since they worry about that crap way too much and let their artists actually sing, especially Ningning.

If they pushed a campaign of letting idols not having to be unrealistically beautiful all the time and thin and such, the industry would be better. And if you seriously think a company can’t promote an idol, let along crappy songs (some songs are shit and still top the charts) and make then popular, then they can do the opposite.

I never knew about K-pop, but I was a fan of f(x) as a kid back then. Idk, but I never noticed Luna 😔 I was only aware of her presence a few months after, and I acknowledged her insane talent right away. I had asked my friend why she's the least popular, and she told me that she's not as appealing and charismatic as the other members. This is quite sad actually.

Luna has more resonance than Taeyeon. People need to stop overestimate Taeyeon's resonance just because she has a more powerful vocal tone. Power doesn't equal resonance. Even Wendy has actually as much resonance as Taeyeon nowadays.

When I first got introduced to f(x) when I was 10, I never really noticed Luna. I only realized her presence and 🔥 insane 🔥talent after a few months of stanning the group. her nodule happen before debut, around 1 year them practice to debut. her nodule still there when she debuted, but i think she handle well, and debuted with great vocal technique like that.

One thing I think Ningning struggles with is confidence. She always seems very timid to go fully off when singing live and I blame SM because of the pressure from people’s expectations when aespa does perform live because they almost never can. I still think Ningning can improve her chest mix to get a bigger belt, but I wonder if she will improve in that direction. Almost the anti taeyeon bc taeyeon was a little too chesty before
As for Ningning’s vocal agility, she’s done some live runs before and they’re quite clean and precise (albeit not too complex) I feel like it’s one of her strengths alongside her lower register

I was impressed by NingNing's performance of Way with Onew during the recent SM concert in Tokyo. She did very well singing with such an experienced and acclaimed singer as Onew.
Ning's lower register in Dreams Come True is worthy to note too. She went down to D3 during "1 2 3..." lyrics when Karina sang it with her in the beginning rap of the song.
Aespa sang live at their Korean and Japanese showcases- inducing b sides like Yeppi Yeppi, ICU, Lucid Dream, they also sang at SM concerts in Korea and Japan. They also did Tokyo Girls collection a few days ago where they sang Next level and Black mamba. Also Life's too short on Jimmy Fallon (Basically they did everything live but Girls and Illusion and Savage in all of named preformances)

I hesitated in watching this video. I fear there is just too much bias when it comes to artists, but I’m glad to say this video was nothing of the sort. Everything you said I agreed with, there was no favoritism. You provided examples and spoken on them. The ending results are similar to what I believe is true. I’ve said this several times: Luna has been SM’s best vocalist and they let her go. Truly dropped the ball.

I saw Taeyeon live in her concert in my city last year. Recordings don't make her voice justice, as great as they sound. I thought I was dreaming until halfway through the concert. Her voice makes you feel things, I don't know how to explain it. Her vocals is an experience in itself. I cried many times in her concert, which is kind of embarassing but ig I was just so overwhelmed. She is too good.

A main dancer, a main vocalist, can rap, a one of the best musical actresses, and is an awesome performer❤ Also, she has the record for K-pop Idol female high jump though she is considered a shorter female idol (taller than Wendy and Taeyeon). She was very strong and the 1st female idol to debut with a muscular body.

I wish Taeyeon participated in more vocally oriented shows like Immortal Songs or even KOMS like girl, let's do it. Even Wendy seems to have more participation in said shows. Haha. I feel like it would really help polish her skills and improve even further.
I don't think she will, at least not in the near future .... she was once on a somewhat competition show were her "pride" was a bit hurt. Taeyeon has struggle with mental health and i don't think she would enjoy a show in which she has to compete, that and maybe she, sm or both want to "protect her image". There is a reason why taeyeon only really goes off on her own concerts in front of people who love her.

@@juansuarez0126 She was in the show Hidden Singer, where singers and a few other people (mostly non famous people) with similar voices sing behing a wall and people includinh group members, friends, and many guests, try to guess who the famous singer is ... and some people said that X singer (who was taeyeon herself) couldn't be taeyeon because she wasn't that good.... so yeah.
The only GG member who went to Immortal Songs is Hyoyeon and even that just as a guest of one of the competing artists..

OMG! Thank you so so much for this, and thank you for including Luna. I always love watching your videos but feel kinda hopeless bcs I think you wouldn't mention anything f(x) related. It is such a surprised for me bcs September is the month that they debuted.
I think between the big 3 kpop company, SM is the best to educate their artist about music. So, I'm sure we will see more of Ningning and ofc Wendy & Taeyeon. Taeyeon is probably my fave female vocalist in kpop, but I dont always liked her song. But with Luna, it feels like I have a special connection with her and f(x), like I almost always love her songs.
F(x) is anything that I dont expect for a girlgroup at that time, even when they just debuted they have so much personality. Like even though they're performing as a team, their individuality shines, like there's no concept, its just them. Probably because of that SM makes f(x) as their experiment groups. And that just makes the groups even greater.
F(x), even though they're popular, they dont really have a big loyal fanbase (well its ofc bcs of SM too). But the good thing about it tho, they seen more as an artist than an idol. After Electric Shock, they always comeback with a full album, its Pink Tape, Red Light and 4 Walls, people called them the Holy Trinity of kpop. Pink Tape is probably their most popular ones, it is so legendary that Billboard put the album as the best kpop album in the 2010s. And I remember thats the only idol's album that featured in top 100 best korean albums made by Melon. Pink Tape changed the way idols sell songs, where they used to only sell singles. And I think, the f(x) after Pink Tape era is probably the blueprint of 4th gen kpop groups. The experimentalism, the aesthetics and even the choreo reminded me so much of f(x).
I always think f(x) is one of the unsung hero of kpop, like they break so many stereotypes, made so many trends, they even mentioned in so many western medias, yet they barely mentioned in todays kpop discussions. Thats why I'm so happy for this, Thank you once again, this really made my day.
edit: I hope you listen to their albums, Luna has so many cool notes there, and ofc the music itself is incredible, its on par with todays kpop album if not better.

I love Taeyon she is an amazing singer like one of the best but to compete with Luna and Lina from FX and the grace you just can't compete but Taeyon is still the best with her emotion, her and Jessica hard carried most of the vocals back in SNSDs early days. And her voice just has that iconic sound to it ❤️❤️

luna is an underrated vocalist definitely like when people discuss best sm vocalists they sometimes leave her out or while discussing none sm vocalists hyolyn and ailee are often included but almost never her like people can honestly have their own opinion and think others are better but for her to not even be part of the discussion leaves me baffled she’s just too good, anyways if anyone is in new york you should definitely see her in her broadway musical debut stan luna stan talent

If you would like to hear more of æspa´s live vocals, they sung live at the SMtown concerts (during the SMtown concert Ningning sung a duet with SHINee´s Onew, Giselle preformed ´ZOO´, Karina and Winter performd ´Step Back´ and they performed their own songs together), æspa´s ´SYNK´ showcase in LA and Japan, their ´MY SYNK. æspa´ fanmeet in Korea, the ´Tokyo Girls Collection´ (they basically sung live at all the paid shows, SM really said give me your money if you want to hear them live), they had two encore stages of ´Savage´ and on their yt channel is the recording video of their song ´Dream Come True´. I believe they also have some live stages of their song ´Forever´. I hope this helps

07:53 is like one of my favorite of Wendy's performance, it was just showing her belting skill, it was amazing. But this one 11:23 this is pure fcking talent, I got goosebumps when I heard that, I knew she is the best in SM but I never listen to Luna's performance since I never really got exposure of hers in social media. After hearing all of her singing in this video. It's just like on whole another level.
Tbh Luna is such a great vocalist, no one can deny that. It's such a pity that SM never appreciated her enough.
Taeyeon is the greatest vocalist for me, because of her emotions whenever she sings, she just knows how to deliver.
SM is so lucky to have her and never again they could find another Taeyeon.

Sm did F(x) so dirty, even before Sulli’s passing. They could have been so big like shinee (they were made to be the female counter part of shinee) but they blew it. They continue to pump out groups like nothing happened, forgetting their senior groups are what made sm so popular and gave them that reputation. It’s just sad.

Fun fact , Luna's family is full of classically trained singers, so it definitely shows. Even though she didn't major in classical music she excels in singing. I've always loved her, she's such a gem.

Because I think SM too focus on concept, not the songs. The main vocalist should often make solo album or OST. Wendy has a solo album, but the songs can not show her capability in vocal.

I feel bad that one of the kpop's best female Vocalist and dancer was Underated even among her own fandom... We can't just blame SM for ignoring and wasting her talent ..
